Yep, but if he gets caught in enough lies, which should be fairly easy, since he lies ALL THE TIME . . . the remaining advertisers on his television AND radio program will get the message.

Please tell us all the lies Glenn Beck has told. He is by far, the most honest and brave journalist in the business today. With his leadership, people all over the country, no matter what their political affiliation, are waking up.

Back up your accusation with facts. He's brilliant to have that phone available for Anita Dunn. Interesting - she's not calling although she's certainly watching. Hmmmmmm....

Never made such a claim. I said, to elaborate, isn't there a radio show which people can call up for that purpose? Actually there definitely is. I don't see how the same thing on a television show would be any different.

I would encourage you to explain how referencing a famous quote about persecution would qualify as antisemitism. Go down to the "influence on Pop culture" section, are you implying all those people are antisemitic? I encourage factual evidence instead of baseless name calling.

I think if you look at what he has said in the past, coupled with what he is saying in recent days, you will see antisemitism. It's not appropriate to compare the WH dissing Fox News to the Holocaust. The comparison isn't even valid. Beck continuously compares the ills in his poor little millionaire lifestyle with historical events that are way out of context. What he goes through on a daily basis is benign compared to what the Jewish culture went through during WWII. It is ridiculous to think otherwise and even worse to defend his actions.

I've explained it on another thread.

Beck's use of this poem was invalid and repulsive. NOBODY is persecuting him or Fox. All the White House did was state the truth, which was CONFIRMED by Fox's spokesperson. Fox's night-time programming INCLUDING Beck, is OPINION programming and not news. The WH said the president would be glad to appear on their programs with the understanding that he considered them the "opposition" and not a legitimate news source. Again, Fox's spokesperson CONFIRMED that the night-time programming was "opinion," not news. No persecution.

For Beck to compare Fox to the Jews who died in the Holocaust is disgusting. Beck IS an anti-Semite by his own admission. He has stated that he has NO Jewish friends because they make him uncomfortable. He's afraid he will say something "offensive" to them. He's right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyFO19pCSS0 So then when in the last year did he make that switch to anti-Semite?

I have used that quote before, does that make me antisemitic? What about all the other people who have used that quote before? What about them?

I think you are searching a little too hard for bad things to say, How about you stick to the facts.

So, for the past few months Glenn Beck has been upset that the White House hasn't taken the time to respond to any of his nonsense. That the stuff he was talking about was the most important stuff the country was facing today, and that the white house was just ignoring it.

So, the White House calls him out, and what does he do? He responds with "Why aren't you doing important stuff???" And then cites the stuff they HAD been focusing on in the first place.

What beck seems to completely fail to understand is that criticizing the obama administration as fine in this country as long as you don't pretend that what you are saying is somehow news or fact but rather present your point of view as an opinion and try to utilize fact in order to support your points. Just making stuff up like conspiracy theories and presenting it as news or fact is what gets beck in trouble with his detractors and what is ticking off the administration. I dont think anyone confuses olbermann's opinionated comments as news but rather as liberal leaning comments because keith does not perpetuate such ideas as Bush planned 9/11 as news or even discuss such nonsense at all. Perhaps it is because becks audience is just not as intelligent and confuses fabrications with reality and/or perhaps it is because beck refuses to clarify and often seems like he is thinking completely outside the realm of reality as well.

Would you explain how it was anti-semitic? Funny, when I listened to the excerpt it sounds like he was warning of persecution of news outlets like Fox and CNN if reporters don't start asking questions about the administrations handling of the press (declaring Fox News an enemy, dedicating White House staff to counter media lies, and such), I can't for the life of me figure out how that is a commentary about Jews in any way shape or form.

That would be like saying it is disrespectful to the French to claim "don't take up arms because it would lead to a French revolution."
It isn't anti-semitic to make references to the Holocaust, especially when the only reference even being made is in the form of a famous quote.

When a "man" like Glenn Dreck... who regularly employs the propaganda techniques of the Third Reich... stoops to comparing himself and his fascistic brethren to the mass VICTIMS of the Third Reich... well, that is in itself an act of antisemitism. He steals their suffering in order to puff himself up. Doughboy seeks to compare the blow back that he has more than earned from the White House with his incessant lies and racist smears to the UNDENIABLE PERSECUTION and ATTEMPTED GENOCIDE suffered by Jews and others at the hands of the Nazis. It proves him to be an individual without dignity or integrity, but simply a greedy sociopath who will do or say ANYTHING that will make him richer and more powerful.

It was as disgusting and shameless as in Goebbels himself had said it.

That poem was not written about persecution of the media. It was written to warn future generations of what might happen if you don't speak out against an ongoing atrocity like the Holocaust in which people are being persecuted or genocide is occurring. The pastor was at first, a supporter of the nazi movement but later wrote that poem as he realized what kind of horrific things the nazis were doing to many groups, not just the jews. As a result of his poem criticizing the third reich he was imprisoned in concentration camps for many years. Afterwards, he spoke out against such evil and intolerance and preached peace. The poem has little to do with silencing the media but rather has to do with speaking out against something when you think it is immoral or wrong. Making comparisons like beck in which he equates the Nazi's evil to Obama's admin criticizing FOX for being biased and not factual in their reporting is doing at least two things that are wrong. He is delegitimizing the Holocaust by comparing speaking out against it to speaking out against Obama's criticism. Two, Obama's admin is right in that FOX is often inaccurate and overtly anti-obama in its news program. If he wants to just say that the poem the pastor wrote means to speak out and not deter someone's freedom of speech, then, give obama credit for having the guts to call out fox news on its constant inaccuracies and bashing. I personally don't think that poem is just about promoting the freedom of speech or the press but if that is what beck thinks he is badly misinterpeting the literature but he is also using that incorrect stance to cry out for free speech which is exactly what he is trying to curb the administration from doing. If fox is going to consistently grossly misinform their viewers, anyone including obama himself has the freedom to speak out against such nonsense. Its not like he is cutting FOX from the air which is what beck would wrongly have you think. Thus, Obama is doing nothing at all to infringe on the first amendment. It is beck who is trying to infringe on his detractors first amendment with such ridiculous comparisons.

            See my post above.

The WH did not declare Fox "an enemy." What they stated was that Fox's night-time programming was strictly opinion programming which represented the Republican party. Fox's spokesperson CONFIRMED that the night time programming was OPINION, not NEWS.

Beck's use of the poem was invalid and REPULSIVE and it was anti-Semitic. Comparing his ridiculously inane program on Fox to the plight of the Jews is disgusting.

Read my post above. You won't agree because you think Beck is a legitimate "news" analyst. Nothing anyone says to you will dissuade you from that belief . . . just please, don't call yourself a conservative. It's disrespectful to all REAL conservatives.

And no Medicare, no EPA, no OSHA, no SWDA. Social Security was a separate fund. Do we really want to go there?

Agreed the top tax rate needs to go up (along with the other rates) to get us out of this deficit/debt mess. But none of the current politicians will go there for the fear of alienating a substantial part of their base and getting tossed in 2010, 2012, &/or 2014.

I will be backing any candidate that comes out and tells us that we all have to sacrifice to turn this around, that for every dollar of new revenue, a dollar of spending cuts will be found (and they can be found).

In order for FOX news to become factually correct, the entire staff would have to be fired, the network sold and the name changed.

The cold war were "the days" because Russia was a "real enemy." I dont think anyone is nostalgic about being on the brink of nuclear destruction except beck. I know its tough to not have a single enemy at all times to blame everything on but sometimes our problems can be blamed on ourselves and not some foreign threat - actually the wide majority of the time.
