Jeez - I thought he might man up and accept some responsibility for making racist comments. Instead I got a 14 year old having a tantrum. Big baby.

Atleast admit it was karma! LOL How the heck did he expect to sit on his behind for a year and constantly spew how he wants Obama to FAIL and lets not forget his gloating over Chicago not getting the Olympics--its karma karma karma. You get back what you put out- Christians know it as reaping what you sow

Their "precious little National Football League..."? Just yesterday, Rush, you were talking about how much you wanted to be a part of it. Man, you are crazy...or on drugs.

BTW, I was hoping you would fail. Har, har, har...

You took the words right off of my keyboard, Irony.

When I saw the headline, the first thing that came to my mind was: "and Limpballs, you wanted to JOIN that 'outpost of racism and liberalism' because??"

Did he just this moment realize that the NFL is an "outpost of racism and liberalism"? And he was prepared to invest how much...without first knowing more about the NFL?

Hey, Rush, I hear there's a minor league baseball team for sale in North Dakota...real cheap. Har, har, har...

This reminds of Ollie North moaning and crying about how US Senators have their own elevators and their own train under Capitol Hill and how they act like they are royalty blah blah blah just a few weeks after he LOST his bid to JOIN them.

Limbaugh is behaving like a dissapointed little boy who didn't want to join the stupid club for jerks anyway. What a child.

Rush.. did you know that the NFL had the Rooney Rule?
If you did become a partial owner, you would be required to interview minority coaches and front office staff.

Oh the horror!!! And that rule has really proven to be ineffective and has ruined franchises who were forced to do this....oh wait.. I forgot the NFL has flourished

But those teams with minority head coaches will obviously fail... except for the fact that 3 of the last 7 super bowl winners had minority coaches.

Yeah, this progressiveness is really ruining football...

EPIC FAIL Rush... you got what you deserved...stop crying

Rush is upset because there were two quotes that he claims were made up. Nobody has evidence of them. He has not denied making them. He has at no point said: "I've never said those things".

But, there are plenty of other well documented quotes of his that make it clear why the NFL did not want him to be apart of their business.

He got fired from ESPN because of Racist comments... I watched that show live and I swear I thought the rest of the hosts were going to kill him.

If you saw the show when Rush was on, they put him across the room behind his own desk alone... nobody wanted to be associated with him.

And that feeling continues with the NFL... Rush would be bad for business in the NFL, that is why he was dumped. The ownership group knew that the rest of teh NFL owners would not approve the purchase with his name attached.

Deal with it Rush... being a racist has consequences.

And by America, I mean original Americans, before all the immigrants forced their way in, you know the Africans, Latinos, Chinese, Irish, those people...why can't these un-american homo-lovin' welfare takin' liberal weaklings just go away and let me have my NFL owner's box to watch the game from...it's all I wanted, after all...geez, can't a guy get a fair shake in this country....

THEORY: Rush Limbaugh is being marginalized by Glenn Beck. He needs a boost in the ratings. If the sex scandal worked for Letterman, maybe this NFL fiasco will work for him.

If there's one thing these conservative talk show hosts and Jon Stewart agree on is that the mainstream media is weak and only covers the bright shiny things people put on the table in front of them.

      RUSH: Mission Accomplished.

He can have all the money in the world but what he's always really wanted is a Football team. When he started talking about having respect for the players and wishing he could do what they do it was very telling. This guy has been through a lot of emotional trauma divorces and his battle with drugs to mention a few. He is lonely and isolated. he has done the whole weight loss make over thing and felt like he was ready to take on the world. This football team thing was his ticket to happiness.

This is a major blow to him and he is making it worse because he is becoming publicly emotional. That may or may not boost his ratings but this is one of those things that has exposed a great weakness in him. he last thing he would ever want is to appear weak to his enemies. His aggressive lash out is counter productive because it's not making him look tough at all. If anything he looks like he needs a hug from someone that actually matters to him. The callers will not satisfy this need. Everyone else will laugh at him even more and I give him 3 moths to check into rehab.

Good enough for him, I say. Limbaugh lives in such a bubble of his own creation, hearing his detractors say he owns the Republican party and all the talk of his power and influence, sitting in his syndication cocoon accepting callers that only fawn over him and feed his ego. One wonders if he figured he could just waltz in the NFL with a fat check and the red carpet of back-slapping, cigar smoking owner buddies would be laid at his feet. Oops, wake-up call. No such adoring welcoming. Much like a car dealer denying your credit, or a prospective employer saying "Sorry". I think this blindsided him a bit and his only recourse was to trash the NFL and shift any responsibility away from his incendiary nonsense he spews and on to a bunch of "liberal racists". Classic projection.

Maybe the swat of a back hand in his face from somewhere he publicly lobbied to be a part of will force a little self-reflection? No doubt it will on a personal level, but his arrogant, overbearing public persona will remain as is, sadly.

You make some great points. I know this really hurts Rush. I actually read in one of his books in the early 1990's where he said something like how he always wanted to be "the man" or be in the "old boy network" - in contrast to the liberals he claims he knew at the time. Rush is accepted in some ultimate old boy networks like the RNC, but it has to be hurt to be slapped by the NFL. Maybe Rush will try to get into baseball - which I think he covets just as much as football.

It's FOOTBALL, Rush. That's all. I really don't think your phony ideological war applies. They didn't want you because you made racially offensive comments in addition to all of the other offensive and false comments you've made over the years. They decided you presented a divisive and inappropriate image for pro football. The only person at fault is YOU. Accept it.

Exactly. Shut up Rush and stop whining like a little baby. The NFL has every right to show you the door without even giving you a reason. Your own mouth finally got you something you didn't want and instead of being a man and accepting it, you moan about it. Nobody cares about your unfair plight as the scorned owner wannabee. Get over it.

Exactly. The NFL owners are not a bastion of liberalism. They are corporate rich men who believe in the bottom line. For the same reason that Clear Channel pays you all that money Rush - the bottom line. You are not worth the trouble that you create for their business. Deal with it.

I love this quote by Mathias Kiwanuka that ESPN reported regarding playing for a team owned by Rush...

"I am not going to draw a conclusion from a person off of one comment, but when it's time after time and there's a consistent pattern of disrepsect and just a complete misunderstanding of an entire culture that I am a part of, I can't respect him as a man"

Rush... how can you call the NFL as an organization racist? Hold the mirror up to yourself... you are the reflection of what's wrong with this country.

The following link is for an article written a little while back outlining the political donations made by the NFL teams, league office and employees to name a few.

      http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2009/09/politicians-score-significant.html

Looks to me like the action of donating, (while maybe not an even 50-50 split), seem even enough.

The dollar values are somewhat striking though. As are the percentage breakdowns.

The Rams and the Eagles are the only teams in the top 10 who favour the Dems. the Rams are also the only team with a greater than 90-10% breakdown. A practice that seems pretty common with the other big donors.

Looks to me like the "Liberalism-ing" of the NFL will be an uphill battle.

"They have to have a villain to advance everything, because they cannot sell their ideas..." -Rush Limbaugh

From Section V of Rebuilding America's Defenses: "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event–like a new Pearl Harbor." -Project for a New American Century

Um, Rush? Needing a villain to advance everything because their ideas are not salable? That'd be the conservatives in this country:

Government killing granny to derail health coverage reform?
Government rationing to derail health coverage reform?
Fighting terrorism by invading an uninvolved country (Iraq)?
Government regulation is killing business (with deregulation giving us things like Enron, Fannie & Freddie, etc.)?
Using 9-11 to strangle the Bill of Rights with the Patriot Act?

That's the side YOU'RE on, Rush. You just piddled on your own shoes.

By the way, with as much money as you have, why not build a stadium in Anchorage, and start your own football team? You could call them the Fighting Quitters!

"Who do these 70 per cent African American players think is paying their salary?'
Limbaugh calls the NFL "outpost of racism and liberalism."

Gee, do ya think that this is exactly what Dave Checketts feared would happen if Limbaugh was his partner; that at some point after he acquired a stake in the franchise, Limbaugh would open his fat mouth as say something akin to this?

      I think so.
