Who is paying the salaries of NFL players?

Television revenues, which are shared collectively by the teams in the league... NFL teams could play every game in an empty TV studio and still make money.

It's kinda funny how racists don't know what racism really is.

Kinda like how a lot of Christians don't know what Christianity is.

Haha. I agree entirely, but this raises the question of how racism is addressed in American society. America transformed from largely believing that seperate-but-equal was a legitimate policy to qualifying racism as a taboo subject within a matter of decades. This is not akin to humanity's ability to adjust, or even accept, change quickly. Now, while some people might suggest that it is largely a good policy, I would argue otherwise. I believe that the primary way that our society has decided to eradicate racism (we pretend racial inequality does not exist ergo there is no need to talk about it) has essentially allowed people to remain racist, say blatantly racist comments, and still maintain the visage that they are not racist. This is in large part due to the fact that individuals can no longer call people racist, because it has been deemed by the majority of society as a mere insult used to cheapen the validity of an individual's argument. I find this astonishing; this argument suggests that racism cannot play into one's ideology because it does not exist which deludes persons like Rush Limbaugh into thinking they are not being racist when in reality they are as racist as a pre-packaged conservative commentator can come.

Reminds me of a story from (IIRC) Molly Ivins (RIP)... a 'redneck' came into a diner and sat down to be served, and commented "What will the n-gg-rs complain about now that there's no racism?" (badly paraphrased)

Off-topic, but anyone else notice that the moment that CNN realized that there was no boy on board the runaway balloon, questions about the family's "lifestyle" and "odd beliefs" began to be entertained?

Clearly CNN is getting ticked off at the prospect that they may have been conned into covering a hoax, besides the fact that in their mad rush to be first with the story they've told us that "there is no one on board...we are now hearing that there was a body on board...there's no one on board..."

Now the talons are coming out and Operation Blame the Parents is underway. Your Mass Media at Work.

Nancy Grace would be unemployed if Operation Blame the Parents ceased to be fruitful for ratings, and I always loved that quasi-southern accent.

The NFL's TV contract is where most of the money comes from not from the likes Limbaugh. TV gets it money back from add revenue.

No, Rush, not every white American who patronizes the NFL is a racist, you dumb***t. It doesn't matter how many NFL fans "buy this racist crap." The NFL, its owners, and the prospective ownership group have decided that their public image is worth protecting from a racist white American who publicly spouts his racism to millions of people. That public image is influenced far more by the divulged views and opinions of the owners than it is by the existence of any anonymous football fan who may be a racist.

They get paid from people, sorta like you, but those people have sense enough to know how to act in public. Rush, you don't have common decency or common sense.
Truth be told, you are well paid because you are willing to say the things most white people are afraid to say. Even YOU said as much. Remember this: "Republicans want Obama to fail, but are afraid to say it".

I know who isn't paying the salaries. Rush Limbaugh is not, so quit doing what you daily accuse the left of doing. Whining because you didn't get what you wanted. Your mouth, which earns you big bucks, is also your undoing. Yes you cheer on the teams and call the players ugly names after the game is over. It's over for you, Rushie.

The problem with Rush is that he doesn't realize that 95% of the owners of NFL teams are CONSERVATIVES!

There's no effort to squash conservatism here, just an effort to squash racism. Pure and simple.

Rush is tragic, in that he doesn't yet realize that his comments make him a racist.
