What is wrong with this man? Does the fact that he has no children of his own leave him utterly insensitive to the fears and concerns of parents about the health of their children?

This guy is a tool. And not a nice shiny garden tool, either. I'm thinking sump pump.

We already have more children dead in the USA from the H1N1 flu than we had all last year, and we still haven't hit the peak flu season.

Conspiracy theorist that he is, somehow he claims that this emphasis on a public health issue is being driven by the Dem's push for healthcare reform, instead of being pushed because it's a public health issue!

But, Rush, it's being pushed because it's a public health issue.

It's your side that uses events to their advantage. It's our side that fairly addresses issues. It's your side's pattern that you're imagining - it's called projection. Just because you guys would behave shamelessly like this doesn't mean that we would.

Fact is, kids are dying in unprecedented numbers. And it's your side that's baselessly making people scared of getting the vaccine that would not only protect the person who receives the vaccine, but would also protect anyone else that might catch that disease from someone who didn't get the vaccine and instead got the flu virus.

People with the flu are contagious for a day or two before they even know they're sick. Many people who get this flu won't get very sick, but will still be shedding the virus for days - they won't know that they have the flu, but they might infect someone who has very severe symptoms.

Someone who gets the flu vaccine can't infect someone else. It's a public health issue, Rush.

This is not only obnoxious its dangerous. One of the things that makes the H1N1 more dangerous than the seasonal flu is the fact that it can actually over stimulate the immune system leading to fatal results. This is a characteristic it shares with the 1918 -1919 Spanish flu pandemic that killed between 50 and 100 million people (more that died in the just completed WW I).

Where does Rush go from here? N1H1 is a real concern for young children and children with a weak immune system.

He is becoming more and more extreme. At some point it has to be a strategy of diminishing returns as his model becomes less and less believable.

I guess that if you are into it purely for the money, it does not matter. Who cares if the cow runs out of milk when you have so much that you are swimming in it. I forgot, his ego will be his downfall before this happens I suspect.

We've had one death of a 7 year old in our area and I have a 6 year old family member hospitalized at a regional children's hospital with pneumonia and kidney failure caused by H1N1.

Why do people listen to this hateful, hateful man?

Limbaugh considers children expendable? His words are beyond disturbing. Let's look into his trips to the Dominican Republic further.

Wow, he really did sound mocking and derisive about children dying in this clip. Way to go, Rush. That must be more of that "culture of life" you conservatives used to pretend you supported.

It probably has something to do with the name. Maybe if it had been the 911 flu or the WMD flu.. Maybe it would have been important in the eyes of Plush Rush.

I've seen some people come on here and support Rush, even when I think at least, he shouldn't be supprted. So!,

I wonder can someone point out how what Rush says in the clip is alright?

Well, if it were true that the H1N1 concerns were being pushed because of the concurrent healthcare insurance push, then he'd be right. If that was the reasoning behind the effort here in the USA to get people to understand the need for vaccination against the virus, rather than it being a public health issue with this WORLDWIDE epidemic, he'd be correct.

But the facts disprove what he's saying. This is not a problem for just the USA. We aren't falsely creating panic or worry without the data to back it up.

So, even if someone tried to come here and defend Rush, they wouldn't be able to effectively do so.

He's setting up a strawman argument, and then knocking it down, and then patting himself on his back for his 'success'.

It's not the cynicism behind this rant that I have a problem with.
It is the ignorance and heartlessness of it. He doesn't bother to give the number of children that have already died, and the fact that flu season has barely started. It is understandable that parents and the CDC are concerned.

Parents with young children should listen to the warnings. For what it is worth,I will tell you this; if my kids were young enough to be vulnerable as the young'uns are - they would be the first ones in line.
