Jesus, what does Dobbs want? A bill that is one paragraph long but does everything the Administration wants it to do? I mean, I get it that stupid demagogues like things simple, but some things are complicated, Lou.

Thanks Mr. Doughy Pantload, I expect you to read it for us since you do nothing all day. When is CNN going to fire this guy?

When your complaints about national legislation that effects 1/6 of the U.S. economy is based on the # of pages it contains, you simply expose yourself as someone who is not to be taken seriously.

I suggest they stop complaining and start reading, I thought complaining about homework stopped in school. His comparison with that bible is the worst. That book is long and I don't personally know anyone who has read the whole thing ever.

Maybe it's because when I learned (taught myself) to read, I showed my father I could read by reading off billboards while we were driving somewhere and thus became a 'speed reader'
[Disclaimer: reading speed about 600 words/minute, with average speed about 300-400 wpm]
So, even a small print, narrow margin book I'm reading runs about 30 seconds to one minute per page. Therefore, the average reader should take one minute to a possible two minutes per page. I also have high comprehension of what I read, and can even 'scan' a book (did it for writing a biography of Sammy Davis, Jr. for a radio show) at about 1500 wpm (!).
Of course, one would only read something if they thought it was important.

Well, let's see. Information I found put reading speed for comprehension at 200-400 words per minute. Let's take the low end of that, at 200 WPM.

      # of pages of bill: about 1500
      # of words per page: about 130
      # of pages read per minute: 1.5 (and some change)
Number of minutes to read bill: 1000
      # of hours: 16.7 hours
      # of days (assuming 8 hour workdays): 2.7, we'll round to 3.

      Lou, wrong again.
