Rush is sooo stupid. I am a public school teacher in a very small school. We have about 250 kids K-12. Yesterday we had 4 teachers home sick and 36 kids. The larger school across the state border had 150 kids sick yesterday. Regardless of whether it is the swine flu or another type of flu, the virus is without a doubt worse this year than I recall from previous years. I'm not really sure what makes Limbaugh an expert on the flu, but he needs to get his money back. He's a negative, hateful idiot who needs to think before he speaks.

My kids school had 130 out of 400 out on Friday and I had to take my two out later in the day as they had caught it. My wife and I both came down with the bug and I am still fighting it.

This is not H1N1, or even the seasonal flu, but viruses seem rampant this year and we better get a handle on the problem. We are still all getting the H1N1 vaccine. After this bout, God forbid we get anything worse!

Rush is free to make a choice to ignore H1N1, but don't lie and force chidren and families to endure, what in some cases, can be a fatal illness.

He has the same effect on peoples' digestive systems. I'd vomit constantly if I were anywhere near him, too.

Yep, Rush, it's just like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. You know, where the feds staged a fake train derailment that forced entire towns to be evacuated in Wyoming. But that didn't stop Richard Dreyfuss and the blonde lady from Harry and the Hendersons from climbing Devils Tower to see the UFO landing pad and awesome musical concert.

In the modern version of this story, Rush will save us all by climbing Devils Tower (with the help of a military chopper) and at the top he will see Glenn Beck and Bigfoot mainlining huge lines of coke in between the executions of liberals. Because of course nobody's "actually" sick from H1N1, it's all fake, right Rush?

Sorry, but I'm gonna up the ante on you. I have the proper lyrics for that Close Encounters tune:

Is Glenn Beck insane? Is Glenn Beck insane? Is Glenn Beck insane?

I think the aliens will really dig it. Enjoy!

I'm sure the parents of the 7 year old girl who died in our area a few weeks ago and the 14 year old boy who died two weeks ago are glad to know that their children's deaths were just a ruse to pass health care reform. I know that my family is just jumping for joy to know that the hospitalization of our 6 year old member of the family is jumping for joy to know that he is simply part of a ruse to pass health care reform.

      What a jerk.

It's very sad when children pass away. I'm sorry for the loss in your community. It saddens me that people like Rush can't understand the impact that his words have on people who are really suffering losses from this flu. What is really unbelievable about what he is claiming is that this H1N1 seems to be affecting our children worse than others. I am humbled by the kindness the above posters exhibit to bintx. It makes me proud to call myself a liberal when I see the kindness that lives in the hearts of others who believe in taking care and loving people rather than money. May God bless all of you guys.

      Rush's spin?

That we are using the H1N1 non-epidemic to encourage public support for healthcare reform.

      Reality?

Rush Limbaugh is the one using the H1N1 epidemic for his own partisan agenda - that of discouraging public support for healthcare reform.

Another instance of the projection from some righty.

It would be nice if people who were sick could just go to a doctor or a hospital without the sword of bankruptcy hanging over their heads. But how H1N1 fits into the advocacy picture is beyond me. It's a virus. Viruses evolve. The government wants people to take steps to mitigate the human cost. If Bush were still president (perish the thought), he, too, would be warning people. Health (in the absolute sense) is about the least political subject on Earth, or so one would think.

The way that H1N1 fits into the healthcare reform advocacy picture? It doesn't. It's a pathway for Rush to oppose healthcare reform. It's Rush using it for his agenda, not reform supporters using it!

Rush lists two conflicting stories. Rush apparently does not discuss the ramifications of each objectively, he picks the one that backs his warped mind and then runs with it without checking out the sources or other opinions. The one that disagrees with him comes from Fox, which has a conservative bent, and the one that he likes comes from an not-so-political CBS.

Limabaugh exhibits his ignorance 24/7. This not is political, this is about: " and promote the general welfare..."

In 1917 the world experienced a pandemic of flu. It killed millions of people world wide. Further, there is evidence that the flu went underground, and even those who did not experience the symptoms later may have developed Parkinsons's disease - hence the NIH, and the CDC.

Public Health officials, and researchers (bless their hearts) have been watching any new virus or flu that appears. They are simply doing their job, and promoting the "general welfare" of the community.

Who knows what the H1N1 is; but it is something new, and our young'uns are more likely to get it, and suffer the consequences than anyone posting here.
