I wish no harm on Beck either. That way when his hateful BS ends up getting someone killed, he'll have to live with knowing that he incited it.

So them it was hateful when Bush was called all the names, and Pelosi, Boxer, Hilary Clinton and the likes said it was "Patriotic to disagree with this or any administration", Yet when the shoe is on the other foot oh my gosh.

Look around folks the programs they want to institute in this country has not and is not working in other countries. England is calling for MORE private medical companies to get into the game because the government can't sustain the cost increase by taxing any more people.

True, it's not a wise thing to wish harm on the guy; not even to entertain the thought as a joke (which I suspect Sara Bellun's comment was all about). Having said that, do you really believe that when someone gets whacked as a result of Beck's 'hateful BS', he (Beck) would care?

I don't think he would. He sounds like one of those people who would step over the body of a person they've just killed, open the dead person's fridge and help themselves with some beer. I know, I know...I watch too much movies. But as Jen7 puts it: "That's twice in one show he uses violence to make a 'point'. Scary."

And that's exactly my point: this guy could care less if his incitement to hatred ends up getting someone killed. I suspect that he might even rub his hands together with a satisfaction of Voila!-finally-someone-is-not-just-paying-attention-to-my-rants-but-they're-taking-action!

I really wish Glenn wouldn't use movies to make his points, for one, it ruins the movie for me, and two, "This is reality, Greg." Movie references are a little immature even if it was appropriate, but this just isn't appropriate, it doesn't compare. The President was known in Chicago as a Go-Go Guy, a GOod GOvernment Guy, according to Trib editor, Clarence Page. Neither the President nor Mr. Emanuel are Italian, nor do they have connections to the mob. To protray them as the bad guys who need to be gotten rid of because of their violent tendancies is really dangerous! The President has NEVER threatened anyone with violence, but Glenn has, and his repeated calls about someone dying or being killed because the government is coming after them could cause more than a few fringies to resort to violence against the government or the President in preceived self-defense. This is one of the scariest things I have ever seen on television. How can Fox allow this?

Beck just ruined an Oscar performance by showing it on his show. I really hope that Sean Connery sues his ass and causes Murdoch to kill the show out of sheer cost to the network.

How can Fox allow this? Roger Ailes encourages it. Ailes tells Beck exactly what he wants. Fox is well aware of this psycho's abilities, to promote their propaganda to the nut cases out there.

Did he just imply that Humana is in fear of getting wacked?
And...what did that second clip have to do with anything? I mean, I realize the first clip was totally irrelevant, but the second is a clip of Kevin Costner holding a dying man in his arms? How does that remotely pertain to the convoluted point he is attempting to make? I realize the entire thing is nuts to begin with, but even if I, as a "devoted teabagger", were watching this, I would be a little confused as to what is going on. Then again, I might be giving teabaggers too much credit.

Has he even seen the movie? Connery's character, the one he's telling us to be, is the one who makes the speech about pulling a gun in response to pulling a knife. Either he's as sloppy with his analogies as he is with his reporting, or he hopes someone will shoot Obama. Probably both.

To his poor, twisted mind he's just using his old radio DJ Zoo Crew nonsense to illustrate a point. If anyone seriously called him on it, he'd throw up his hands, shrug his shoulders and go "I'm not a journalist! I'm just tryin' ta be funny!" and would play the sound of a bicycle bell, a toilet flush, and perhaps a sad trombone.

To the rational population he's joking about murdering people.

I keep vacillating between the "Beck is a nutty sociopath" theory and the "Beck is a cynical opportunist who doesn't really believe his own propaganda" theory. Clips like this one definitely lend credence to the former. Good thing he's on a fair and balanced channel.

well, unless I'm hearing things, he made a direct threat on the POTUS in this clip.

It's kind of ironic how much he gets away with saying, despite his "fears" that we're all living in Obama's "totalitarian regime".

If one can get away with making such unsubtle remarks on national TV, imagine what they are saying when the camera and microphones are off.

      Hahaha!

This actually made me laugh. Beck purports that "those people sitting around the table," a reference he enunciated as "insurance companies, doctors, small businesses, et al," which ironically are the projection of metaphor he is utilizing here, those "thugs" and "mafias" sitting around the table. In other word, those "insurance companies, doctors, small businesses" are equivalent of those mobsters trembling in the presence of Al Capon, a.k.a, Barack Obama. Oh dear... how much ammo is this guy providing for the people with more two brain cells to have their switches flipped and go, "this guy is a whack job."

Can media matters please quit covering this lunatic?

He's not legitimate. He's a fraud. Quit feeding his fire. It's only going to get out of control.

He is making overt threats towards the POTUS saying "I warn ya, that means some people are going to get whacked."

Further, he's seriously asking his audience to sacrifice themselves as martyrs to his cause. "If you stand up, what are you willing to do? You might get whacked... but let me tell you something, if you don't act soon, it will be too late."

This guy's only influence comes from hate. Hate from the left (against him) and hate from the right (against Obama).

Enough already. This is insanity. Seriously.

If you insist on continuing to cover him, at least be consistent and start covering Ayman al-Zawahri.

It is insanity, which is precisely why it should be covered. Beck is establishing a pattern of incendiary rhetoric, which should be recognized and acted upon. FOX is partisan, but even they have to have some concept of a threshold of what goes too far. They and their sponsors need to be pressured over all these quotes from Beck about how our rights are in danger, how Obama is a socialist/communist/fascist, how the Republic is in danger, how Obama hates white people, etc. FOX wants to fly as close to the sun as they can, but if one of their hosts were to be cited as inspiration for some whackjob to kill the first black President of these United States, FOX would be toast. There's no tap-dancing around that, or saying liberals are "whining" or playing the "victim card" or anything of the sort. They couldn't keep Beck on, and they couldn't fire him without admitting culpability.

So I don't see the trade-off here. Beck already has millions of viewers who are exposed to this craziness, so the hypothetical that somehow he'll get more influence doesn't trump the need to maintain pressure on the only people who can get this vermin off the air.

I see this as pure projection and denial.
Glenn, you are part of the team in the field. It is Rupert Murdoch, Roger Ailes, Fox News and you, sitting around that table. It is your group, trying to Whack the President and bring him to his knees. Remember you get nowhere unless your team wins. If you spend too much time in bed with the mob, if you spend too much time at that table, you are going to get whacked eventually. Remember you are only one man. And they will sell you down the river in a heartbeat, if all this back fires in their face. You, Glenn are their pawn and you Glenn, will be their fall guy.

Beck is very self destructive, so regardless how many times he pulls himself up, he will always crash and burn eventually. How many times can he do that? I really see a very sad ending for Glenn Beck.
