Carlson compares health insurance reform to illegal immigration enforcement

To make it fair, I'll stipulate that first, all the smart hair should be removed from the bag.
Dumb + Smart - Dumb = ?
Dumb + Smart - Smart = ?
Needz me some coffee.
"The more apt comparison is Gretchen Carlson and a box of rocks.
To make it fair, I'll stipulate that first, all the smart rocks should be removed from the box."
Do you see now how that has nothing at all to do with appearance?
He didn't attack her looks. He attacked the vacuousness of her character and personality based upon her failed analogy and her history of vapid and pointless commentaries.
I just listened to an entire week of the MSM telling me that Fox News is only opinionated on their evening programs!
Well, so much for that theory ...
Don't know if Carlson was criticizing the 'opt in' proposal where states have the option of buying in to the public option, but she has to know that's how Eisenhower sold the highway system to the recalcitrants of his day.
F the chamber of commerce and f the health insurance industry, ol dude's plea for sympathy on their behalf was pathetic. It's time for government to beat them back because they do not represent average people.
I like penalizing employers whose employees have to seek government help for medical care. But did you notice how Gretchen twisted that bit by the end of the segment? She asked if law enforcement won't go after immigrants, how do you expect them to go after kids who aren't paying the $750 fine? That's patently dishonest, it's the employer that will be fined, not the employee.
I ask any of you who are young: is $750 dollars cheap for you? I'm struggling to find the $65 dollars I owe to the library and figure out how I'm going to eat tonight let alone hop on the chance to pay $750. (Yes, I'm still renting books from the library.)
And how does one make the illogical leap from young people paying or not paying-that wasn't made particularly clear either-to illegal immigrants crossing the border in mass armies to exploit our healthcare system for their own gain? Wait, don't they claim that is happening now? Wait...I'm so confused.
These people suck.
Let me spell it out for you.
If you can afford, but choose not to buy insurance, you pay a $750 tax. If you can't afford to buy, but are employed, your employer pays the $750 tax.
And it was "illeagle" immigrants. Just stating facts. Isn't that what MMFA yearns for? Facts?
If you weren't so blinded but your hatred for anything "Fox", you probably wouldn't have anything to say.
That's allright though, your parents will probably pay for your insurance, since I'm guessing you still live in their basement.
Apparently, my dislike of Fox does not hold a candle to the unfortunate and pathetic rage you have for me; a stranger in a chat room.
At any rate, I'm commenting on Fox's portrayal of the issue. Watch the clip, they pulled a sleight of hand in the very manner I mentioned.
How are you going to pay for this insurance, that YOUR government is going to FORCE you to BUY? You do understand that, right? We will all be REQUIRED to buy insurance. We already know how well that has worked out in Massachusetts.
I know, you'll plead poverty and let someone else pay for it.
The American way!
Your last paragraph doesn't make any sense. Were you trying to be funny? You should work on that! What she said was that since the government doesn't go after illeagle aliens (A victimless crime, according to most liberals)then why would they go after young people for tax evasion, because that is what will happen if you don't buy insurance, and then don't pay the tax penalty for not buying insurance. It wasn't about illeagles....ooohhhh sorry, "undocumented workers" coming over here for health care.
It was supposed to be "illegals"
1.) If you are assuming that any of us are advocating for the Baucus Plan, you are highly mistaken. I want universal healthcare, not for-profit healthcare that I'm mandated to buy.
2.) You stated, "plead poverty and let someone else pay for it." When exactly did the poor person become inherently immoral? Why are you so intent on having suffering people suffer more? So the wealthy can have a better life? Is it because they didn't trail in their father's footsteps and snort coke at their Yale fraternity like our former Prez? Would they be worthy of the good life then?
3.) What's wrong with anyone living with their parents during these tough economic times? How elitist of you!!!
MMFA's title of the piece;
"Carlson compares health insurance reform to illegal immigration enforcement"
She didn't compare health reform to immigration enforcement. What was said is that she wondered if the government would go after people for not paying the Health Insurance tax with equal zeal they use to go after illegal immigrants.(an opinion-NOT NEWS) Which I guess is not much.
The point was, if you refuse to pay the tax, you probably won't be prosecuted for it
