Yeah, and Nixon really DID have an "enemies list." A very BIG one.

[why your factual post got a "thumbs down," is beyond me and just shows the total lack of maturity and intelligence of the Masked Thumbs Downer.

is this a new term - i would think the term enemies listed has existed for most of the last century between all the conflicts that have erupted in this world. Didn't mccarthy have some sort of enemies against America list? I know Nixon had one. Im sure there were others too. This isnt some brilliant term. Rove is taking false credit for something that isn't even all that great in the first place. If you are going to lie about saying something first, at least make sure that what was said was actually a good quote. These republican in politics are so dumb, they are fighting over intellectual bread crumbs at this point. Is this what the GOP has to resort to? Calling obama hitler and fighting over who said the least dumb quote. Thank god Im a liberal!

I think he was just trying to take credit for saying that Obama had an enemies list, first. Not that he was the first to coin the phrase.

And you know, boy, I bet all of us had wished we had coined that one first. (tongue firmly in cheek)

The traitor is in a race to determine who comes up with the dumbest claim of the year. The GOP reveals it's sole purpose and it is not governance.

Oh sure but you, Rove , don't have the ba11s to admit your role in the Valerie Plame outing and clear her name and service to this country, something foreign to your thinking process.Ihope pres Obama awards her and all the unsung heroes a service medal.

So, Hannity doesn't think Mr. Alexander is a bomb-thrower, huh? There is a lengthy article at Politico which contains the full content of his prepared comments where the 'enemies list' comment came from. He goes into a bit of detail about the Nixonian enemies list, and points out that the Nixon administration was dedicated to using the power of the federal government to attack the short list of its 20 most prominent and/or feared opponents.

The problem? Well, firstly, that while FOX Propaganda is relentlessly opposed to the Obama administration as well as the idea of a Democratically controlled Congress, they've merely been called out for practicing more propaganda than journalism. It hasn't been done secretly. The FBI isn't investigating Rupert Murdoch, nor is the IRS. In fact, Mr. Murdoch has been granted exceptions to U.S. federal laws that are designed to prevent one man or group from owning a majority of media outlets in a given geographical area.

While I have argued that these exceptions should be repealed, the current administration shows no signs of wishing to do so.

This 'enemies list' garbage is recycled from the tipline the president setup to help deal with all the misinformation on health coverage reform. Remember that? That was supposed to be producing an 'enemies list' as well, leading to people turning each other in, kids turning in parents, it was going to be JUST LIKE NAZI GERMANY OR STALINIST RUSSIA! OMG!

Except, none of that happened, did it? And yet, they continue to screech about it. Mr. Rove, your cabal is out of power in government, and you are trying instead to consolidate power in the media. Rather than slandering more honorable men than you will ever be, drop to your knees and thank whatever god you pray to that you are not in federal prison. Yet.

This idiot is proud of something that is not true. It doesn't matter who 'coined" the phase. The bottom line is, it is not true. There is no "enemies list" at the White House, just like there are no facts behind Glen Beck's assertion that "Obama is a racist". I see democracy at work from this White House so far, even though I don't agree with everything they do.
No one at Fox challenges Rove stupidity and viewers accept this BS without question.
This is why the White House has an issue with Fox News. Fox News is not held to any standards of responsibility or accountability. The hosts, and guests, on Fox News are free to make any claim they want without backing it up with facts.
Fox News has been attacking Obama and this White House relentlessly for almost a year and now they accuse this administration of having an enemies list [The nerve of them].
Look like to me they see the White House as the enemy. This is how Fox News portrays Obama and the administration to the American people (Fox viewers).
They certainly treat this White House like THEY are the enemy. This administration has every right to avoid or ignore Karl Rove and Fox News; after all they are the lying "voices of opposition".
