Yes, Glenn. President Obama will get to that right after he builds those camps you were first crying about, then lying about.

Oh, the scary black man also watches you when you pee.

I watched the video and Beck was being serious. The above poster is one odd duck. Ever since I've been noticing his posts it seems his goal is to irritate people rather than have honest discussions. What the flippin heck is oldmaninblackforest anyway, a new Ben and Jerry's flavor?

Actually I am fairly new to this site. I have on many occasions tried discussions only to be called names and berated for having different views. I am not a republican, not a democrat probably most aligned with libertarians BUT I try and remain open minded on a variety of topics. I have to admit that I've been less that nice as it is getting a little frustrating.

In all seriousness, I don't get how this could be viewed as anything other than satire... From MY perspective for satire to be effective one would attempt to present the scenario as "serious"... I have (on occasion) listened to Beck on the radio. I don't particularly like hie style. To me he rambles sorta like Randi Rhodes(sp)?

I did find your comment about a Ben & Jerry's flavor rather funny. I am an old man that lives in Black Forest Colorado where we are currently getting our second foot of snow...

*NOTE* this is an attempt at humor:

If any of you know Al Gore could you have him circle his G3 (gulfstream model 3 "private jet") around Black Forest so WE can enjoy some of that "global warming"!

Here's the thing, trollintrollforest... even IF Beck was "kidding" (in which case it's not funny, just stupid and bizarre), a lot of people take his words pretty seriously.

Mostly, people here get berated for promoting lies and/or debunked talking points.

Also, usually a satirist is known to be a satirist. Al Franken is/was a satirist. Glenn Beck is not a satirist.

Your attempt at humor failed. First off, the weather you're having currently is just that, weather, and is not any evidence of global warming or global cooling. It's weather, not climate.

Secondly, many people who are powerful have private jets. Attacking Gore because he uses one is pretty darn outrageous, considering.

Humor has to be based in reality. There's no reality in your "joke". On top of that, the intent of the person saying something is relevant. You weren't trying to joke. You were smearing Al Gore. You're a liar when you say that you were trying to joke.

That's terrible. I'm looking over some of the comments in this thread, and yes, you've been the target of some pretty harsh name-calling. Here, look at what this person wrote:

"Are you REALLY that clueless. Humor, satire you nutters are so busy TRYING to protect the second coming of jimmy carter that they can't even recognize satire, humor.... nutters, left-wing nuts..."

Oh wait a second -- that was how YOU began this conversation. If you had written, "Come on, this is obvious satire" you still would have seen replies in disagreement, but the tone of the conversation would have been far different from the tone you yourself set.

There's a reason your point of view wasn't taken seriously: you didn't present it seriously. You presented it as a rude attack. (Or perhaps you were merely being satirical, yes?)

oldman - I appreciate that you appreciated my stab at humor. And I do understand the concept of being frustrated with the politics of others. We all feel it. The thing with Beck is that whether he is making a stab at satire or not, he knows that there are many, many of his viewers who aren't going to take it as satire. They take every word out of his mouth as gold. That's the problem. Republican, democrat or libertarian, all I want is for people to be honest with the public. Take healthcare, it's so irritating that so many people are getting half truths and flat out lies from people like Beck and Limbaugh. If it fails, it needs to fail bc of the truth, not a bunch of lies. That's my point.

Fox calls this an opinion show.

If it truly is a humor/satire show then they should label it as such instead of pulling it out and hiding behind it every time Beck goes off on these fantasy rants of his.

Apparently, YOU are that clueless, since he did this piece in a somawhat serious, not satiric tone of voice. And since when is Beck's show a satire show? Do you want a good example of satire? Watch The Daily Show, Colbert Report, THOSE are satire, Glenn Beck does not do satire.

Anyway, it's not unreasonable to think that Mr. Beck's latest conspiracy theory is satire, mostly because he's spouted off stuff like this before. FEMA camps. H1N1 vaccine is killing people. And so on.

Are you seriously calling Obama the second coming of Jimmy Carter? That's an amazing leap you're taking there, since a vast majority of the country believe that Obama is doing a pretty good job out there currently.

You know, the sad thing is, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are probably a better source for news/analysis than Beck's program which is on the Fox NEWS Channel. At least the Colbert/Stewart programs attempt to check their sources, rather than relying on a magic eight ball to determine if stories are true (something Beck probably does).

That's worth the Nobel Prize if anything is. You should use the google. Search Nobel Prize. Read how they award the peace prize.

No, a case cannot be made that Obama's award was premature. It was based upon stuff he's already done, like have great vision of a more peaceful world, and wanting to work with our allies and our enemies.

It's so the land can be used as collateral when we need to borrow more from the Chinese. Thanks, Glenn. I feel better now. What a complete psycho.

By the way Beck, stop showing your ignorance by talking about the debt as something that needs to be paid back over one generation. It's called revolving debt and it can be turned over for hundreds of years as long as the world views the US government favorably. Yes we need to get debt under control but to do anything about it right now would result in further unemployment increases and would throw us back into recession. This is simple economics. It's the lessons we should have learned from the Great Depression when they tightened monetary policy as we were coming out of the initial recession trying to balance the budget, and their actions threw us into the Great Depression. I'm sick of Beck trying to talk like he's a scholar on any subject. The guy literally knows NOTHING, but he does have thousands of conspiracy theories.
