Let's all join in a chorus of "Well I'm proud to be an American, , where at least I know I'm free...."
What I would point out, jjamele, is that once the right is finally cornered on just what that "freedom and liberty" is all about, this is probably the tactic they will use--wrap themselves up in the flag and start singing Lee Greenwood or Toby Keith...
Bigger than legalized institutional slavery and the denial of all property and rights to slaves? Really? Huh, well, I guess this really is something over which one should protest vehemently by mailing tea bags to Washington.
You're so moralistic. I'll bet when you hear "Alamo," you're reminded that one of the freedoms those heroes were fighting for was the freedom to withhold freedom from other humans. Slavery was outlawed by Mexico.
"Freedom and Liberty" always means "the right to amass unlimited wealth at the expense of society" to people like him.
Yeah. Sure. Right. This from the same people who told us that warrantless wiretapping of every American was protecting our liberty. Oceania is at war with Eurasia. Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia...
And what, pray tell, did the big bad wolf Government find out about you ForTheblah, when they tapped your phone to make you so paranoid?
I promise to never tell anyone else about your apparent dirty little secrets.
All they can do is hope for failure.
Spineless twerps.
No Rushie it will be the biggest release of freedom and liberty in U.S. History for people to get the health care they need.
QUIZ: What will Chris Wallace's response be?:
a) Wallace challenges Limbaugh on this statement, saying something like, "Well what about the military draft--something you managed to avoid during the Vietnam War?"
or
b) Wallace replies, "All right, now let's move on to another topic."
Personally, I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's "b".
"It's gonna be... the biggest snatch.. in this country..." and make some lame joke about how jealous he sounded at being one-upped, juliajayne1, but like Hannity I won't go there.
Rather, I will simply applaud your post, and smile. :)
Well done!
Immediately what I thought of too.
Umm, Umm, Umm, Rush Hudson Limabuagh, Umm, Umm, Umm.
Snap!
A free observation for you lefties: Misrepresentations and slander diminishes the credibility of your argument. Rush is not a fat boy. He has lost 90 pounds and is probably in better shape then most on this Board - including me.
You are welcome.........
He is a confirmed junkie, after all.
Yeah, lefties. Want to make a credible argument? Listen to the example Limbaugh sets as he argues the policies of Sec. of State Hillary Clinton:
"The Army, the Marines do not have uniforms that fit that big an ass"
Wow -- bigger than even warrantless wiretapping, suspension of the writ of habeas corpus, and extraordinary rendition??
Now back to reality. What the shrill right wants us to forget is that this government controlled healthcare experiment has been actually tried in other countries and we have decades of data. It turns out that European health care systems have not destroyed liberty in the name of government-controlled health care. Not only does life go on, but people still manage to have the freedom to do unhealthy things. In England doctors prescribe heroin to junkies as a treatment. Also I believe more people smoke in parts of Europe than they do here. See rushbo, you still have the freedom to be stupid in a government run health system. You also have universal coverage and lower costs.
This reminds me of the advances in Genetics. We can now determine who is at greater risk of various conditions (e.g. cancer, Alzheimer's, etc.). Insurance companies have been looking at ways to disallow treatment because of these 'pre-existing conditions', though the statistics, and means to avoid having the disorders occur through lifestyle and medical changes, can actually allow a reduced chance for many who could develop the conditions to avoid them.
