Maybe someone's finally growing a pair! (That's figuratively, Judith.)
But Hannity just didn't want to give it up. Like a scrawny dog with an old bone.
(Side note - when you do a spell check on "Hannity", one of the choices is "Humanity". Nothing can be further from the truth. Weird.)
It works for me..;p)
DOH!
i remember watching the great "oufoxed" documentary by brave new films, and they showed a segment on hannity & colmes a few months after 9/11 where they interviewed larry johnson, a former CIA analyst, who said the very same thing hannity is asserting here. johnson stated, "going into iraq is going to divert resources, and the tension, that should be focused on al-qaeda". hannity, as usual, replied with rationalized slogans, "we do have the ability, and the resources, to... we're able to walk and chew gum. we can handle the situation in iraq and we can still finish the job of projecting against al-qaeda in another attack".
and now he does a complete 180 and claims the exact opposite. granted, that was about 7 years ago, but hannity has such a black and white, narrow frame of mind that he doesnt think before he makes such a ridiculous claim.
the last thing i want to do is misstate that idiot. i wont give him the satisfaction. :)
You also inadvertently mentioned Hannity's "frame of mind". Less of a frame, moreso something along the lines of a locket.
Rush Limbaugh, for one, poo-pooed the body count and said more people were killed each year in several major American cities.
I also believe that more than one responded "Well, they volunteered, didn't they?"
The scary thing is that these imbeciles may very well take back Congress in 2010.
