As NY-23 goes, so goes the nation!

      Um, yeah.

Now if the Democratic mayor of Detroit loses to his Republican challenger, then we could say this is a sign of a much larger trend. As it stands, I see no reason to be either elated or depressed with any of the other results, whatever happens.

Hmm, so the guy who wrote a book about how liberals are Hitlerites thinks something can be "overblown" does he?

Personally, I'm almost hoping for Republican victories, even though I tend to vote against them most of the time.

      Why?

Because the Democrats apparently need reminding that while making promises can get you elected, keeping those promises is what it takes to get you re-elected. Get health reform done, over the vocal objections of a minority party if they choose not to participate, but get it done. Let every Republican victory be a clarion call to energize the majority party in D.C. to GET BACK TO WORK!

Morning Joe didn't get the memo. To hear him talk, the entire country has now been taken over by the Republican Party because of the two elections last night even though the exit polls clearly stated that the folks LIKED Obama and that their votes had nothing to do with Obama. Corzine had been unpopular BEFORE Obama was elected and Virginia just followed a 32 year historical precedent.

Now, the win in NY-23 IS significant in that a Democrat won after a 130+ year dry spell AND because Glenn Beck's "protege" lost.
