Meanwhile, John McCain losing to Barack Obama was like a grain of sand at the beach.

OK, El Fathead...you keep running the GOP, and we'll keep pointing and laughing.

NJ is not amazing. Whats amazing is that the last time the 23rd district had a democrat elected to office, there was likely no one alive today that was there to witness it. Hoffman and FOX ran this thing to the ground so badly that a county that has been republican for more than a century actually voted for a democrat because of how repulsive this whole sham was. The fact that hoffman did not live in the district, knew nothing of the actual meat of the debate and seemed like a complete bonehead was all secondary to the fact that he completely derailed the republican party in the process of getting on the ballot. He took out the moderate republicans from the vote and likely annoyed others with the brash and irrational tactics.

First, Ted Kennedy never lost Massachusetts. Second, NJ will not keep Christie long. He is a one term. Those citizens who voted for him needs to look at his background. I can tell you he was under Alberto Gonzales, and was a GWB supporter, plus rumored to do under the table dealings. If I was living there I would not voted for him. Plus neither would I for Corizine.

That's funny -- didn't NJ have a GOP governor for eight years prior to Corzine?

They sure did, Christine Todd Whitman, who later went to work for GWB. She was elected and re-elected in a state that is, undeniably, heavily Democratic.

So, what does it mean that a highly disliked Democratic Governor lost his re-election bid in a highly Democratic state?

Well, it means that Democrats don't vote in lockstep, and don't vote for the party identification, and they have open minds.

This is NOT a bad thing, Rush. These things are all good things, Rush.

        Christie - republic - present
        corzine - democrat 2006 - 2009
        cody - democrat 2004 - 2006
        Mcgreevy - democrat 2002 - 2004
        Defrancisco - republican 2001 - 2002
        Whitman = republican 1994 - 2001
        Florio - democrat 1990 - 1994
        Kaan - republican 1984 - 1990

Limbaugh is a moron. He doesn't know what he is talking about and just makes up stuff to fit his own opinion and reality. NJ has not exclusively voted democrat for governor. In fact, looking above, NJ has been headed by a governor from the GOP for the majority of the last 20 plus years - democrats - 11 years and republicans - 14 years and now. Once again, limbaugh is blatantly lying to his audience of course. No one will ever check that though - they most likely don't even know how to do such things.

Once again Rush and his ilk are looking for validation and they fabricate false realities to perpetuate their ridiculous beliefs.

You can't reason with them or have any rational discussion.

There were 2 House races and the Republicans lost them both. How is that not a validation of Progressive ideals? How quickly they forget how the NY congressional election was everything and now it's dismissed as unimportant

The only thing they have to hang their hat on is New Jersey and Virginia, so naturally it's the greatest victory ever.

It's like when Notre Dame goes 2-10 during a season, but those 2 victories were really the only ones that mattered and exemplified their greatness when it comes to recruiting time.

      It's a trick and it's pretty pathetic.

btw... California has had a Republican Governor 16 of the last 20 years and the state has voted for every Democratic candidate except the years that (Reagan/Nixon) were on the ballot.
