Michele Bachmann is too stupid to get that famous quotation correct. It's "fired the shot heard round the world".

In Hannity's case, however, it was the shot that was heard rattling around in his empty head. From a pop gun.

Zero organization? I thought she just credited Hannity for promoting this abomination.

its amazing how successful this rally was......
they had 10,000 people (I dont know where Bachmann got the 20,000 number everywhere I go they are reporting 10,000 or less)

10,000 people I think that needs to be put in its proper perspective

Verizon Center in DC holds double that number for a basketball game (about 20,000 or Bachmann number)

meaning that at best Bachmann drew a sell out crowd for a Washington Wizards game to DC

      impressive? no. not really.

Politico reported 10,000. Unless it's changed, everybody else is reporting 3500-4000.

I saw a report earlier of 8,000. When you divide that by the current US population, it equals 0.0026 percent of all Americans.

The grass roots are dead and the tea bags are leaking.....

. . . and, seeing as the Wizards have had five winning seasons in the 13 years they've been known as the Wizards, that's nothing to write home about . . .

I called her office today. I told them I support the public option, I actually support single payer/provider plans and that I resented being referred to as a fifth columnist, un-American, and a Fascist, and that I intended to work to defeat the Congresswoman. I will find out who her opponent is and I will contribute to their campaign, hers and Virginia Foxx, next summer is going to cost me some money. They were very polite and thanked me for my comments.

        Good for you!

I think you raise a very interesting point that is often overlooked in all of this.

When the extreme conservatives call the President a communist and a fascist and that his policies are Nazi like and etc. etc. etc. - they are implying that anyone who supports him is the same.

Personally, I'm really starting to resent being called all these things. Especially being labeled as "unAmerican" (after I had to put up with Bush for 8 years). I thought his policies were terrible, but I always respected his Presidency.

But, thank you for calling her office.

when talking about teabaggers with signs like "we came unarmed this time" i dont think they should be using the term "shot".

The shots heard round the world today are those at Ft. Hood, Texas. My prayers go out to all of the families of those who were killed and to those who are injured.

The far right is used to rewriting and convoluting US history ( see any of Beck's programs) but today they are showing a new level of ignorance: the Pledge of Allegiance is bungled, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are mis-quoted and erroneously inter-changed, and now this dumbBachmann quote...all while another heart of America act of violence is being committed or being planned to be committed. The last Heartland horror was perpetrated by a group with a convoluted sense of history, too.

So 4000 people showing up during the middle of the week to a protest led by a House of Representatives memeber against, yes, Congress, is a shot heard 'round the world?

      I highly doubt it.

Add to this the endless promotion of FoxNews and right wing radio, and turnout sucked. If you guys get huge promotion for free, and nobody shows up, what does that tell you? It tells you that nobody supports you.

More like the fart heard 'round the room.

And what are 4000 people doing showing up in the middle of the week, anyway? Don't they have JOBS to go to?

Ms. Bachmann callled for a protest that was promoted by Fox News that led to criminal trespass and other illegal activities? Aren't they in some way legally liable?

I hate to use this type of comparison, but if it had been a war protest encouraged by a liberal politician, Rush, Glenn and Sean would be up calling for criminal prosecution, or some Congressional ethics punishment.

around the world??? this was 10,000 people (not 20,000, 50,000 or 70,000 as many have claimed) within the US... not from other countries you crazy illiterate.

and isnt it great that little michele has her own "news" network to go on and advertise her little teabagging parties. good for her... shes obviously not taken seriously anywhere else. when she goes on other networks, where the people are actually sane, she claims that we need to find out what kind of people in congress are un-american and she gets laughed at for it. then she claims that her words were twisted and she was tricked into saying it when she said it all by herself.
