      What "complicating factors"?

It's so easy to be a pundit, you don't even have to actually lie. Just infer things and let your sheepe figure out what you really mean, wink, wink, nudge, nudge...

It couldn't possibly be because one occurred more recently than the other. Why do we talk aboout obama so much? To avoid all the complicating factors of George W Bush or because obama is the current president and bush was the previous one?

Instead of focusing on his ethnic and religious background perhaps more focus should be on the fact that similar to a previous virginia tech associated mass murder, the perpetrator consistently portrayed warning signs that there was some severe mental problems and he was allowed to just slip through the cracks of major institutions. In both cases, it seems like the proper care and attention was never really given to either and the situation may have been completely avoided if the problems were addressed sooner. Of course, this country continually decides to ignore the idea of prevention and completely focus on trying to find quick fixes once something becomes terribly out of hand whether it comes to the physical or mental health of American citizens. This can be seen in many tragic situations whether it be fort hood or most deaths in emergency departments in America - we try to avoid an obvious illness until its development results in catastrophe.

This is a common theme of today;s destructive ignorance and incessant incompetence in recognizing major problems - we wait and wait until a disaster occurs. We did it with healthcare reform as the entire country is now threatened by the corruption of our gatekeepers or the insurance industry. And we are doing the same with global warming. No real attempt will be made to remedy the situation until New York city begins to suffer from mass flooding. Yet, we never seem to learn our lesson either.

The "complicating factors" are that this incident happening so soon after the Ft. Hood incident is depriving Fox and hate talk radio of opportunity to keep pushing their "terrorist" narrative.

By "terrorist" I assume you mean "Muslim."

but, of course. According to one of the posters here "not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim."

That's the narrative that the former Terrorist in Chief and his sidekick told us repeatedly for 7 years, anyway. Be AFRAID, be VERY AFRAID of all Muslims.

I just watched a bit of CNN Newsroom at the gym, and I'd estimate the coverage was about 75% Fort Hood and 25% Orlando during the half hour span I caught.

It's funny how the MSM and right-wing talk shows just talks about the Ft. Hood shooting and avoids these stories:
