      Ignore the widely reported fact that this guy was harassed by the military for his Muslim background. Our great military cannot possibly suffer from racial and ethnic intolerance right? It is likely that the major reason this even happened is because of how prejudice soldiers can be and this is likely a result of the discrimination that continues to be pervasive throughout American society and very much is embodied in conservatism. Its the reason that minorities overwhelmingly support democratic candidates - not because the democrats are especially free of prejudice but because republican ideals are so steeped in it. Some of this country;s greatest flaws and most horrendous and horrific tragedies were largely due to religious, racial or ethnic intolerance. I believe this one is no different.

      The fanatics have hijacked the republican party. Thats the reality of it.

        Yes, they treat diversity almost as well as they treat sexual orientation.
