Dobbs says caller makes a "good point" in suggesting American Muslim soldiers must be "thoroughly screened"

Ummm... ALL soldiers are thoroughly screened. It's taken(ing) me almost 5 months just to see if I qualify to enlist in the USAF!

Oh how quickly we forget US Histoy: Timothy James McVeigh (April 23, 1968 – June 11, 2001) was a United States Army veteran and security guard who was convicted of bombing the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, the second anniversary of the Waco Siege, as revenge or to inspire a revolt against what he considered a tyrannical federal government. The bombing killed 168 people and was the deadliest act of terrorism within the United States prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks.

He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Gulf War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. He had been a top-scoring gunner with the 25mm cannon of the Bradley Fighting Vehicles used by the U.S. 1st Infantry Division to which he was assigned. He served at Fort Riley, Kansas, before Operation Desert Storm. At Fort Riley, McVeigh completed the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC). McVeigh later would say that the Army taught him how to switch off his emotions.

Screening military candidates based upon their religious preference is un-Constitutional and un-American. Our Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves.

Its the same reason that no one intervened in columbine or virginia tech or Oklahoma City. These are not about excessive tolerance but the exact opposite - excessive intolerance. None of these murders felt accepted, all had major mental instability, most of them were harassed for being different or rejected by many. They all had an obsession with weapons. None of those that were closest to these people could recognize warning signs and none of them received proper medical treatment and counseling. I love how these morons claim that the problem here is too much acceptance or too much tolerance of others when in fact, this tells us even more strongly how intolerant this society at large can be.

I don't understand why Muslims should be the only ones screened when it comes to service to our country. If that's the case, screen all religions, because Islam is not the only religion in which the lunatic fundamentalists have committed atrocities. How about the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Reformation, the KKK, David Caresh and a slew of other atrocities that have been committed by those who DO NOT follow Allah? Oh, I forgot, Islam is the boogeyman for the right.
