In the United States there is approximatly 16,000 murders every year. By Quinn's arithmetic about 14,000 are done by Muslims.

I'm having a difficult time believing this. Can anyone out there help be reconcile this dilemma ?

Yup, sure can. Mr. Quinn's a bigot, and his distorted world view does not accurately reflect reality. Therefore, all his 'statistics' are questionable, and should not be trusted. You can expand that to include all of his 'facts' as well. After all, he somehow thought that interment during WW II worked for America!

Did he limit the murders to the US? Or did he take larger view to include NE Africa, Middle East, Far East?

i WOULD SAY throughout history 95 percent of bloodshed was the result of religion in general. How many people died as a result of the crusades? How many people died as a result of the Holocaust? How many people died in the USSR as a direct result of practicing a religion? How many people died because of the Wars of Religion or any of the wars involving Israel? I would venture to guess billions have died because of nothing other than their religion and much of that was Christianity so please, don't give me that christianity is holier than thou lecture.

But see the arguement from Quinn and people like him is that they weren't really christians and didn't abide by what christianity is, which would be almost correct. BUT, they can't or won't see that its the same with Muslim fanatics or the FT Hood killer, if your a muslim who's a bad person you're a muslim, if your a christian who's a bad person, you're not a christian. Thats their "logic"

yEA WELL it isn't just religion that can be applied to fanaticism. Its also politics. Saying a Muslim who kills people in the name of religion is just a Muslim and not a radical Muslim (Im not saying this pertains at all to this current situation and I dont believe the killing was at all a result of Muslim extremism) is like saying the tea party people who carry signs saying Obama is Hitler and will kill my grandmother with death panels is a mainstream republican. There is a lot of radicals in religion and politics but clearly quinn has yet to learn this and probably never will.

Or that Christians were justified if they do use war or vigilanteism. When Ann Coulter suggested we "invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christ" that was just considered Un PC and "telling it like it is". Christians seem to get that leeway because its always the other guy to blame.

Nope, Jim, it does in fact make you a bigot. See, the first possible explanation that you arrived at was based on Mr. Hasan's religion. I had guessed that this would be the reaction of some in the media as soon as I heard the same story, but what I wondered about Mr. Hasan was what had caused him to perpetrate this tragedy. I'm still waiting to find that out, and people like you fear mongering about a religion you don't understand to begin with are not helping with the clarity. You're only muddying the waters with your bigotry.

Nothing less can be expected from an old wrinkly white guy who's racism is finally coming out for all to see!

At no point can a lone gunman be used as an excuse to blame an entire religion/faith/group of people...

Unless of course we want to begin to blame the violence of right-wing Christian fanatics who blow up buildings in Oklahoma City in the same light??

Jim Quinn is a pathetic insignificant racist bug!

How about much of his family saying that he was constantly harassed because of his background and that he wanted to but couldn't leave the military as a result of this harassment meaning it was likely constant and/or severe. I am betting that had a lot more to do with this than just the fact that he was Muslim. Yet, i GUESS this isn't pertinent information to these talking heads. Of course, intolerance can't lead to a tragedy quite the same way excessive tolerance can do so I guess or at least according to these dolts. This was also clearly the motivation of many other American tragedies of the past as well.

Millions upon millions of people have been killed "In the name of God". The "Crusades" was nothing more than a series of Holy War launched by the Catholic Church. Religion kills more peole every years than all of the listed causes combines.

Fox "news" breathlessly reports that the suspect "believed that the United States was at war with Islam." If that's true, I wonder where he could have gotten THAT idea?

Maybe from Fox, which has SAID as much, drumming the message into the psyche of it's audience, over and over again, for the last eight years?

Quinn recites that dialogue on a daily basis. His spim is that Muslims want to kill all of us so we should kill them first.

Type Con crap...only Amercians are allowed to kill during a war..when the other side does it, it is cowardly and hatred.

Quinn is to listened to if you want laughs. Yes, his 200 listeners goose-step to his reading of other peoples' blogs but if you understand the dumbness of this man, you will laugh.

And it is amazing how the Sexual Harasser and the Phony Christian Radio Rose are pushing Christmas gifts from their website. Because in a month, Radio Rosie will be crying on the air that people don't understand that Christmas isn't about gifts. MarkBFoot my words.

I think the problem is psychiatrists. I think conservatives are using the religion thing as a smokescreen to hide the fact that Ft. Hood murders were committed by a psychiatrist. There would be no crazy people without psychiatrists. Psychiatry may be nothing more than another religion. Forget about the "M" word or the "L" word. It's the "B" word. YOU ARE ALL BIPOLAR! Have you ever been happy and sad in the same day? YOU ARE ALL BIPOLAR! When you watch neocon pundits on the news, do you want to laugh and hit them at the same time? YOU ARE ALL BIPOLAR! Do you want to defend the land of liberty by putting everyone in jail? YOU ARE ALL BIPOLAR! Do you want to fight for peace? Do you want to win the war on drugs and fund it by selling heroin? Do you want a vigorous economy even if it destroys life on earth? My friends, WE ARE ALL BIPOLAR!

The Crusades argument is so weak. That was then this is now. Radical muslim extremists have moved to the top of the list by far when you look at world wide religious violence.

Lets say that this is a true statement... okay... bruce1ace

What to do about it? Do we (America) bomb entire regions because of a small fraction of Muslims who are ardent fanatics? Or do we perhaps do everything we can to marginalize them by say helping to build school and hospitals instead of dropping 2000 pound bombs on their neighborhoods??

Its all well and good to be angry at those who fly airplanes into buildings... but we cannot justify blaming an entire people for the evil of a handful... whether you agree or not, the fact is that the vast majority of Muslims ARE peaceful people who ARE being bombed by US! (You try being peaceful after a bomb rips through your house!)

Otherwise, we'd have to blame all other right-wing Christian extremists in America for what Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols did in Oklahoma City!

When will the Conservatives/Republicans realize that 85-90% of AMERICANS do not go for their elected officals (1) Pushing radical ideologies. (2) Comparing our President(The leader of the free world, who's approval ratings around the world are pushing 85-90%) to People like Lennon, Stalin, and Hitler. (3) Stating that THEY & THE TEA BAGGERS are the TRUE AMERICANS for standing up against the Socialist Policies of this Marxist President that is stealing their country away. Whiich is telling the 60% plus AMERICANS who voted for that very President, only a year ago, that they are not smart enough to know what they want out of their President, and they are even dumber for not realizing they were voting for A man who secretly planned on taking over our Country and becoming a Dictator! Also, telling ALL THOSE OTHER PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE COUNTRY that they are not REAL AMERICANS because they support the President of the United States of America, and ACTUALLY don't want him to fail!(4) Not Listening to the people they represent, and instead pushing Party talking points that are intended to scare, mislead, and block any agenda that is put up for vote, or discussion. Plus, flat out lieing whenever they feel like! Hoping That the people they represent do not catch them when they do. Which also shows their iggnorance when it comes to the intelligence of THOSE OTHER PEOPLE. And, (5) Letting People like RUSH, BECK, HANNITY, and BIGGOT QUINN be the leaders of the party they're registered with. Never in modern politics do you see Elected Officals taking the lead from people who's 1st radio job was being a TOP 40 DJ! Usually EO's try to distance there self from the crazy talk of these 4 WACK OFFS!
I don't see how the right cannot see how saying NO to everything President Obama puts on the table is NOT what WE want out of our Gov't? All I can say is I hope Americans( WE, who are ALL AMERICANS) remembers all the actions of the Congressman/Congresswoman since President Obama has taken office. If they do, I don't see how they could actually vote for these people to stay in office.
