One would have thought they would have mentioned the new taxes in the bill. After all, isn't that the Republican standard shtick about the evil government, raising taxes?

Yeah, but this is Beck's show, and it's sort of the remedial class for conservatives... You say taxes, and then you have to explain why we need them at all, and that, no, it isn't unconstitutional to tax people... Debt is a much more simple concept to grasp.

Then tell me how the heck WE- the government- can insure a so called 40 million people WITHOUT RAISING taxed?? Oh by the way out of teh 40 million about 25 million are illegal aliens.

The government has run EVERY program into the ground with unsustainable demands with little or no financial background to make it work.
We now own 60 percent of GM, AMTRAK is failing yet we keep it afloat, how much money are we going to give to GMAC???
When the tax base runs out and they can no longer tax us to "FREE HEALTH CARE" WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO!!!?!?!?

You've been told this before, Rugger, but I'll give it a try anyway. WE ARE PAYING FOR THE UNINSURED RIGHT NOW! We pay for it every time that they are forced to use an emergency room to treat a now serious condition that could and should have been treated much earlier, much cheaper, and much more effectively by a primary care physician.

Am I getting through to you?

          At all?

So just raise our taxes to pay how about this cut them OFF, open the health care Congress and the house gets for them instead of a 2000 page bill that does NOTHING!!!

I'm sorry... are you saying that you would cut the uninsured off from USING EMERGENCY ROOMS?

              Are you seriously that soulless?

The government has over regulated the health care industry for so long and pigeonholed their business this is what they must do to survive.

Open the state lines for insurance and let you buy insurance from ANY company anywhere as long as they provide the basic coverage according to your state. I bet that would bring down rates.

Cap court cases by limiting the lawyers fee to a flat fee, How about getting rid of the golden coverage for the politicians and but them on MEDICAID AND MEDICARE.

            Mescal-
first off stop drinking. Second just because you repeat something over and over does not make it true (although the left believes this).

So your arguement is because we end up paying for uninsured to when they go to the ER we need to completely overhaul the healthcare system. So as stated by a congressman "when you have a leaky kitchen faucet do you take a bulldozer to your entire home"?

Well a novel idea would be to have something, and I know this may be a very foreign concept to you, called "personal responsibility". Now our government, both R and D, have tried to eradicate this concept from the area formally housing your brain.

Before 1978 HMO act people used to pay for their healthcare directly out of their pocket and the cost, in comparisson to today, was very reasonable. Since the first "fix" in 1978 to healthcare the price has skyrocketed (thank you Ted Kennedy).

So now your much beloved government that can fix all problems of the world (only when the democrats are in charge ofcourse)is back to repair the damage they caused.

Please, if you can, start thinking for yourself instead of relying on your media and government officials (sometimes one in the same)and start taking care of yourself first. When you can do that then start thinking about helping others.

Since you said "EVERY" program, does that statement include the Defense Department???

Yes if they would stop all the lobbyist and special interest payoffs in the government and allow the proper flow of business instead of who pays who off then a lot would change.

The politicians just keep getting richer off of our dime and it doesn't matter which party they all do.

1.2 trillion dollars further in debt? You mean, beyond the 5 or 6 trillion dollars of debt that Bush/Cheney saddled us with, Mr. Bolling? Aw, c'mon. At least for this debt we all get health care, right? I mean, there's a point to it, at least, huh? And hey, seeing as how I'm not a millionaire, most of it's not even coming out of my paycheck! Not that I feel sorry for you, of course. Chowderhead.

Hey Kitty, don't forget to mention the hundreds of billions in debt that Reagan racked up during the 80s.

It's refreshing isn't it to actually have a government that is running things on the books instead of just passing stuff and passing it on to us but not mentioning that when they pass it. How much have we spent on Iraq now? Medicare Part D?? Bush Tax Cuts??? All of this was done OFF the books. Who was Bush/Cheney?? The MOB?? They are the only organization I know that runs things off the books.

The stock market went up a lot today. Clearly that means the health care bill passing was a Good Thing(TM).

Isn't that what we always hear from conservative commentators when the stock market for the day follows what they see as good?

Its funny how conservatives cry about the cost of legislation and debt when it comes to something that could help millions of Americans, but cheer on acts that run up the debt and put American lives in danger, like the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the 1.3 Trillion dollar tax cut, and the unfunded Medicare Prescription Drug Act(I'm not against it, I'm pointing out that when it was signed into law it wasn't paid for). I guess death is more profitable for them then life.
