I can never understand when people claim that Tweety is particularly intelligent or insightful. I will give him credit for occasionally being quick and assertive with some of his conservative guests. But he can be quite thick, and as well-documented here at MMFA, quite sexist. I think this is an issue where he combines both problems.

Someone needs to explain this to Politifact.org too - their right-leaning blinders won't let them understand this either.

Good gracious! He's really not very bright is he? Heaven forbid we bring up the fact that many of those Dems who voted FOR the Stupak amendment then turned around and voted against the health care bill?

Are the pundits claiming this week that he's a raving liberal?

The Hyde amendment IS the compromise position. Matthews is a self-avowed Catholic so his bias on this issue is a given. He is also, as noted previously, neither very bright nor quick on the uptake.

The Stupak amendment changed this progressive's stance from "let's get the camel's nose under the tent" to "nothing is better that this bill".

I've informed my (kooky right-wing) congress member and my senators of my disapproval as well as Obama, Pelosi and Reid (another anti-choice zealot).

I'm an optimist. Maybe they will dump the provision before the final vote.

      Stay engaged fellow libs.
