Stewart mocks Hannity for inflating Bachmann rally attendance, trying to pass 9-12 rally footage off as Bachmann rally footage

Claiming he "screwed up," Hannity "apologizes" for airing "incorrect video" of 9-12 protests while discussing Bachmann rally

Henrik Hertzberg was just on this show to pimp his new book, "Obamanos! The Rise of a New Political Era" (or something like that.) I can't remember a duller, more listless, more pathetic interview- I literally cringed. Hertzberg was asked what "Obamanos" means-- "I don't...I saw it on a sign and I thought, what a great title...it means whatever you want it to mean..."

"I fell in love with Obama at the convention." Scarborough: "Will you still be in love with him ten years from now?" "I'm sure I will...some people are still in love with JFK...."

"It was the book-- 'Dreams from my Father.' That did it..."

Hertzberg simply could not tell the audience why anyone would want to read this book. How is this a "new political era?" "It just is...its his energy...." Why did you write it? "He's just so....he's a transforming figure...I mean....he's amazing..."

Ugh. I voted for Obama and still support him (though he's making it harder all the time, as he backs off the real progressive change he said he would bring.) But this kind of snivelling sillyness isn't worth reporting on. Do we really need another book like this?

Hmmm, President Obama has been President for TEN MONTHS. Why "NOT" wait a little more longer, (maybe like TWO YEARS or so) before jumping on the Republican band wagon, LOL. Hmmm.

9 1/2 months. Won't be 10 until November 20. Pet peeve, sorry. The media keeps saying that he's been president a month longer than he has. Drives me nuts! [one of my very few analities!]

I am thinking it is a mixture of Obama and the Spanish word "vamanos" which means "let's go". Took me ten seconds to figure that out, 5 seconds to Google and double check the meaning of vamanos. If he is so cavalier about the title of his book, I wonder about the actual book.

Geez. How could you use a word for your book's title when you don't know what the word means? What if it meant something completely inappropriate?

I'm a huge Obama fan, but I won't be buying this book. Obama is so much more than just a charismatic figure. I think it belittles him to make him that one-dimensional.

After all, Sarah Palin has plenty of charisma. But beyond that, she's empty.

          *Vamonos*, from the verb *venir*.

Vamanos sounds really strange is Spanish.

How do they include both videos and not know which is which? And Hannity doesn't specify that the other one was the much hyped 9/12 because that would make him look even lamer.

True, but I also have to say it's a pleasure so see someone from Fox News actually admit to a falsehood.

I'll never like Fox News because it's conservative and Republican, but what's really objectionable is that they A)claim not to be biased and b)Frequently use distortions and falsehoods to press their point.

If Fox News admits their conservative perspective and stick to the facts, at least they'll earn the second half of their name.

He didn't "admit to a falsehood." He admitted to an "inadvertent" mistake. It wasn't. There is virtually NO way this could have been inadvertent. It was intentional and they got caught. This is a CYA. People are filing complaints with the FCC for fraudulent news reporting which does fall under their purview, even on cable.

Yes, because here at Morning Joe, we love their lies. We can justify our own because of them </sarcasm>

As great I think Jon Stewart is, it is rather sad that Mr. Stewart needs to take the time from his own comedy show to report that Fox is... a bunch of fricken LIARS!!

How could anyone at Fox possibly not know that footage they were using from a rally two months ago, was from a rally two months ago??

There is no excuse for it even from a blatant propaganda machine like Cluster Fox!

Sasly, we all know what will happen as far as the watchers/followers of Fixed News...

It will be waved away as just another example of liberal media bias in daring to expose Fox for the fraudulent 'news' station it has always been!

But captfoster2, I predict that in a week, our Seannie lovers around here will remember seeing that the clip had the word EARLIER in the right hand corner of the screen. They will try to convince everyone that the word EARLIER didn't necessiarly meaning earlier that day. Then the Websters will give us the definition of earlier.
I hope the MSM remembers this and all of the past instances when it comes time to defend themselves from the Fox.

SeannietheSissyBoy got caught..that is why he needed to act like a ten year old when he gave his apology. Waiting for Rush to say it is not important what was shown, but what really happened.

There are no rules for propaganda. That's why it's propaganda and not news.

It wasn't a mistake. There is virtually no way that it could be. These videos are digital recordings and are stored on a server with NAMES and DATES. No way was this a mistake.

This "apology" was simply a CYA . . . people are filing complaints with the FCC for fraudulent news reporting.

Halperin basically keys off of Joe. He knows Joe and crew are huge supporters of FOX (even though it is not in their employer's self interest to support a competitor, especially if one needs to strain and actually distort reality in order to do it). So he says what is needed to gain Joes approval, even if it is stupid. He wants to keep getting invited back on the show. (He takes lessons on this from Barnacle, who is the biggest chameleon of all.)
