So, none of these guys deserve a trial?
And Gretchen, if it could be tossed out for torture, maybe, just maybe that's a sign that America should not torture.

        Now they do.

At the time of their capture, I would've prefered they were considered an enemy military target.

Another great defender of our Constitution, Bill Krystol already is advocating skipping a trial altogether and preceding directly to execution.

Selective application of the Constitution is an accepted principle of the right-wing.

Clarification: Bill Krystol's comment was directed at The Ft. Hood case.

I understand why they fear. It's a fundamental distrust of the American legal system, and larger, a distrust of America itself. They've become so blinded by their ideology that they actually think that American citizens, including convicted felons, will somehow let this man out or let him escape. They have no faith. They no longer believe in America, or in Americans, and so they fear. They've stopped believing in America's greatness, in her ability to solve difficult problems. They cling to a mythical past that never was and cower in fear of futures that will almost certainly never come to pass. They suspect the majority in this country who elected President Obama and a majority of Democrats in both houses of Congress of being willing to collude with those who seek to destroy this country, as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed does.

It's the same reason that there are Christians who fear Islam. Why? If you really believe in Christ, then Islam is a false religion. God is in control. What have you to fear from men? Nothing. So, why fear? It is a lack of belief, and little else.

It's the same reason Lou Dobbs is angry about illegal immigrants. Mr. Dobbs, we all came here, one way or another, and we can all live here together. Immigrants are one of America's great strengths. New ideas, fresh blood, that shining hopeful belief that here, in the land of the free, anything is truly possible. We need immigrants, and while some reform of the system of immigration is needed, we cannot simply bar our doors and cower behind walls. Not only does such a system not work (ask East Germany), but it is patently un-American. We confront problems here, we face them down and hammer out answers and solutions.

What if he gets out on a technicality? Are you kidding me? It is more likely that there really are monsters under your bed, Ms. Carlson, Mr. Kilmeade. I'm not Mr. Rivera's biggest fan, but here at least he is making some sense. I believe in America. I believe in our system of justice, even if I don't agree with all our laws. You truly believe that the America you live in would let Mr. Mohammed go free, and lock up Americans who don't buy 'government health insurance'? Really? Then you have ceased to live in the real world. Or, you've just been working at FOX Propaganda too long, and you're falling for your own line of BS.

That's one of the best comments I have ever read here! Too bad I can only give you a single thumbs up! Yes, liberals do love America, ironically, so many of the Conservatives are the ones willing to write her off, but since up is down and black is white, they scream that we don't, and that we are the victims of indoctrination when they so exhibit all the symptoms themselves. Your comments made me proud to be an American, and I NEVER say this lightly.

Wow, Geraldo actually made sense. Doofy talks about them as if they are going to saunter in and make themselves to home. Instead, they will be brought in, in chains and heavy guard, and they will get their prefunctory trial, and be sentenced to a Supermax prison where they won't have any human contact until they are executed. It is much better to have that happen than sitting forever on foreign soil in the same type of a jail cell without facing justice. The U.S. is a nation of laws, when we put criminals on trial, we are strong, when we skirt the laws and hide them away, we are being weak. It is a shame that the Bush Administration created this extra-territorial miscarriage of justice.

Most conservatives aren't interested in justice. Only vengeance. Principles and concepts like: the rule of law, justice, responsibility, moral obligations -these are words to be used for political expediency. Nothing more.

It is further evidence that they truly mistrust the very fabric of this Nation.

I know you are right, but I live my life by them. I also believe in honor snd service and I have faith. Sometimes, I am so old-fashioned! I figured out when I was a teenager that we talk about respecting and revering people like Dr. King or Mr. Gandhi, but really, it is lip service. I became a little cynical that day.

Has Gretchen Carlson ever sounded stupider? Her statement about this guy making converts in prison is just jaw droppingly STOOPID! Gretchen, please sever all your connections from the rest of us here in Minnesota.

Doocy: "But...but....what if he makes a replica gun out of soap, forces the guards to convert to Islam and they help him bust out of prison, and he takes over a house in a neighborhood with kids and everything, and builds a nukular weapon in the garage and then detonates it in an elementary school?!? Huh?!? Huh?!? What will you say then, Geraldo?!?"

Kilmeade: "Or, what about if he's in prison and gets bit by a radioactive spider, and gets spidey strength and can shoot webs and stuff?!? How hard do you think it would be for him to escape prison and continue his reign of terror THEN?!?"

Carlson: "Or...or...what if they find out while he's in prison that he has healing powers because he brings a squished mouse named Mr. Jingles back to life, and then the guards sneak him out of prison to heal the sick wife of one of the other guards but after he sucks the illness out of her he escapes and then breaks into an elementary school and then lets the illness out of his mouth and you end up with a school full of dead children?!? Could you live with an elementary school full of dead children on your conscience, Geraldo??!!!"

A lucid and common sense solution, to be sure. Time to get the Star Chamber back together to convict this scum, and dispatch Jor-El immediately.

Once again, Fox and Friends demonstrate their ignroance and fear.

What do they think should happen, a soldier walks up and executes him? How does that make us a better nation or a better people then those we condemn.

Send him to the world court? A system that most conservatives fail to recognize?

What solutions do they offer? Obviously, the answer is none.

I believe what Geraldo is saying, I believe that it's time to process this man and move on.

You are exactly right, the problem is that he should be tried by a military tribunal not a civillian court. Would you have tried the Japanese who attacked Pearl in Hawaiian civillian court?

A double-edged sword here. At least they weren't using that obscene euphemism, "enhanced interrogation methods;" they called torture by its name. However, they just accepted torture as something that you just naturally do, but you can't try people you've tortured because of that pesky little thing called law. This from people who, in another context, will bray to the heavens and hell about "the Constitution!!!", and the threats that working people present to it.

At the ADX Florence supermax prison in Colorado the shoe bomber, dirty bomber, Unabomber, Olympic Park bomber, 1993 WTC bombers and Oklahoma City bomber plus many more are all there. So adding a 9/11 guy would be a problem? Boy can miss America read a talking point.
