I was watching, and when his face showed up I turned the channel to Fox until the football game started.

Absolutely disgusting to have Luntz on to discuss anything.

MMfA is going to have some hits and misses. I agree that this one is pretty stupid, but leave it to you to try and extrapolate that into the supposed demise of MMfA's credibility. It just looks really desperate. MMfA is here to stay - however much that seems to drive you crazy.

MMFA, over time, will publish clips hi-liting misinformation, but will also publish quite a bit of self congratulatory stuff (hi-liting Oldemann's WPITW for example), offering opinion clips that agree with their stance, and other information that isn't necessarily related to conservative mis-information, but advances the agenda (un-published here but still out there). After all, much of the original backing for MMFA came from people related to the DNC (one could probably get Eddie Haskell Beck to diagram this on a chalkboard). ;>)

How can you right-wingers live with the choices you've made?

Sullivan was working as an analyst at the Veterans Benefits Administration in Washington in early 2005 when he was called to a meeting with a top political appointee at the VA, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Michael McLendon. McLendon, an intensely focused man in a neatly pressed suit, kept a Bible on his desk at the office. Sullivan explained to McLendon and the other attendees that the rise in benefits claims the VA was noticing was caused partly by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who were suffering from PTSD. “That’s too many,” McLendon said, then hit his hand on the table. “They are too young” to be filing claims, and they are doing it “too soon.” He hit the table again. The claims, he said, are “costing us too much money,” and if the veterans “believed in God and country . . . they would not come home with PTSD.” At that point, he slammed his palm against the table a final time, making a loud smack. Everyone in the room fell silent.

A question for Oscar and the rest of the right-wingers on this blog: What the hell is wrong with you psychos?

Take it easy on Oscar. He is one of the good, honest conservatives that come here like Jeter, Bruce and a couple others. Please don't lump him in with the "psychos".

If you vote for someone, and that person was a poor choice, are you supposed to flog yourself daily over it for the rest of your life, or what? You acknowledge the problems and try to learn from them. As far as I've seen, that's exactly what Oscar has always done.

So what the hell do you want, blood?

The issue with this really shouldn't be with him appearing in this capacity, because he does have expertise in communications and language. If he's being presented in a political capacity, then it should be made clear that he works for Republicans. But this is neutral ground. It has nothing to do with politics, so his partisanship isn't much of a factor.

The plugging of the book is a potential problem, though. I'm not sure how much of Luntz's politics are inserted into it, but if it comes from a conservative viewpoint then they're pushing his ideology for no good reason. They can establish his standing as a language expert without doing that.

I actually watched the whole segment. My favorite part was when he became morally outraged T.O. for answering "I'll go with the play that's called", when asked whether he thought he was being wasted by the offense.

      He should have lied, damnit!

Just curious why no one today has picked up on his Jimmy the Greek ala Limbaugh like gaffe when he quipped that "maybe earrings were acceptable in San Francisco"? He even had a quick look of disdain on his face after Shannon Sharpe jokingly asked him about earrings. Sharpe wears one himself. The issue is that Luntz was discussing negative role models and how they dress and his comment equated in caveman math earring = bad = San Fran acceptance because San Fran = homosexuals = bad. I mean, could his homophobia have been any clearer. I truly expected there to be some fallout from this...but maybe not.
