Ladies and Gentlemen, the 8 million dollar man.

You know you're truly despised when the company you work for would and did pay anything just to get rid of you.

The good news is that Loony Lou will be limited to these sad sack appearances for a few years.

The title of this clip would almost seem to imply that FOX has never given the birthers any credibility.

      Whoops.

As a reporter, Dobbs has the right to pursue a story which involves asking questions. Isn't this what journalism is all about?

As an American -- at the very least -- Dobbs has the right to ask a question.

Any two year old can ask a question.

A journalist would research and investigate the question at issue and report on the findings.

        Lou is no journalist.

And, how would you suggest someone research and investigate something without appearing to look like a two-year old by asking questions?

Dobbs investigated stories that he found meaningful and that mattered to him. That was his prerogative. You knew while watching that you would get some opinion as well.

Unless you could prove that he was willfully manipulating and misreporting the stories, then people don't really have a reason to dump on him. It just comes down to the fact that some didn't agree with his politics . . . which is fine. But, that doesn't not make him a journalistor take away his right to ask questions.

Dobbs was not pursuing a story. He was pursuing an agenda and this birth certificate nonsense was the perfect fodder for the real issue that Dobbs is so passionate about, illegal immigration.

He repeatedly asked the question, over and over, why Obama does not show his real birth certificate, when he knows good and well that the President has. He did not report on any of the evidence for or against the issue, never remarked on the posted birth certificate on the internet, and he claimed he was merely reporting on the controversy over the B.C. while ignoring all of the overwhelming evidence against the birther movement. Even Bill O'Reilly has gone after and denounced the birthers, but for Lou Dobbs, he gets a free pass.

Just to be accurate: Pres. Obama has not produced his real (as in, "original") Birth Certificate. What he has released is his "Certificate of Live Birth" from the State of Hawaii which, granted, is as good as the same thing and proves his U.S. citizenship. But, it is not, as you say, "his real birth certificate."

All of this can be verified on FactCheck's website:
          http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

And, it doesn't help Pres. Obama's case that the Certificate of Live Birth wasn't actually requested by the Obama campaign until 2007. In the words of Obama spokesperson Shauna Daly, as the presidential campaign got going they decided to get "all the records we could get our hands on" . . . which, of course, might lead the fevered imaginations of conspiracy theorists to wonder why Candidate Obama couldn't have provided his own actual Birth Certificate or Certificate of Live Birth or whatever to his own campaign!

Instead, "No Drama Obama" for whatever reason decided to keep everything cloak and dagger, thus only encouraging the crazies to weave their theories.

Wait... at the end of this clip O'Reilly says,

If you are gonna ask a question that Barack Obama doesn't want to answer you are gonna get hammered by the Obama people, and thats what happened. And it happened to the extent that you say you were shot at out in Jersey where you live, right?
Did Bill just accuse the President of the United States for trying to assassinate Lou Dobbs?
