This is an old joke for Rush. He's been pulling that one out of his backside ever since the Iraq became unpopular.

A friend of mine just reminded me that, the day after the Oklahoma City bombing, Rush was screaming that Libya had done it, and we should send the bombers over immediately. Too bad Media Matters wasn't around then. That tape should show up every once in a while, to upset the dittoheads.

          "Never!?"

            konchshell,

Don't you remember how the initial search included a suspect 'John Doe #2'?

Whether you are accurate about Rush or not, remember it was the dear Turban that likened American soldiers and CIA as equal to the nazi's, soviet gulags and pol pot? I dare say the senator earned the name.

Speaking truth to/about progressives with a shout out to dr. joe medicine crow!

              What's your points?

That they suspected another person? Of that it MIGHT have been muslim terrorists? So what? Have suspicisons is a hundered miles away from saying "BOMB LIBYA NOW."

And whil Conchobar "may or may bot be" right about LImbaugh, in my experience here and elsewhere, most of what the right quotes Senator "Turban" on is misquoted, deceptively cropped and taken out of context. Considering how miserably that war was planned, sold and executed, I'd say that some candid criticisms on the part of one Senator are the least of our soldiers worries. How about the @$$hole that got 4000+ of them killed in a pointless, expensive unecessary boondoggle?

And BTW... what's your point with this Dr. John Medicine Crow stuff lately? I hope it's more that that you came accorss a funny picture of President Obama. (It IS a funny pic though!) Otherwise, I'm glad to see that you're maturity level isn't any higher than all those who postsed goofy looking pictures of McCain on the campaign trail. And BTW: don't count me among them. There was a time when professional photographers respected people and tried to make them look professional, taking candid shots only to humanize them. Nice to see that photo-journalism hasn't maintained any more of the dignity it once had than the rest of the journalistic profession.

But, since we're apprently NOT trying to raise the intellectual level of discouorse here, here are some good ones...

The dr. joe medicine crow is about our esteemed leader's response to a terrorist attack on American soil. The picture is just a visual to remind us of where/who/what he values, ie make nice to the American Indian faction, and being oh so politically correct to not see first the horror that muslim fanaticism brought to our shores.

So when I 'give a shout out to dr joe medicine crow' or say speaking truth to/about progressives, it's really not about the picture, but it does add 1000 words to obama's comments.

How's this pic work for you?

Wow. Obama in a funny hat. How original.

And, BTW... I'm sorry... There's been a TERRORIST ATTACK on American soil?

                  Really?

Strange... you'd think I might have heard something about that.

If you're referring to the shootings at Fort Hood... What, pray tell, should be done that hasn't been? (Or has been done that shouldn't have?)

Actually, there was a terrorist attack back in 2001. But even though Bush was president and was the idiot who ignored warnings a month earlier, it's all Democrats' fault. How on earth can we trust Democrats to protect this country when the worst terrorist attack on American soil took place while Republicans were in power?

I think the hope of the leftys is to move us back to a 9-10 mentality, that these are crimes and that we are the cause of muslim fanaticism. I would like to hear the president go after terrorism, in language and deed, the way he went after the cops in Cambridge.

By avoiding the word terrorist or terrorism, he displays a reluctance to go after those who hate us with the passion he showed in attacking cops, before any evidence was in. It demonstrates his view of the world and who the enemies really are for him.

There is plenty of evidence to demonstrate that this muslim terrorist acted on behalf of his religion in gunning down his fellow shoulders, yet we hear of tragedys, incident, man made disasters and show the presence of a mindset that speaks to a greater evil present in police, cia agents, soldiers on the battlefield than in terrorists that would want to destroy this country. I think those agendas are in more harmony than with Americans.

Sorry, scaredneocon, but there are those of us who don't want to spend the rest of our lives cowering under our beds, waiting for our abusing stepdaddy (can you say Bush/Cheney?) to 'chase the boogyman away'. I really am considering dropping the 'land of the free and home of the brave' next time I sing the Star Spangled Banner, because of people like you who are in constant fear that you might get hurt.

On 9/11/01, I kept hearing "The World Has Changed". I kept wondering what they meant, because most of the rest of the planet has seen bombings, shootings, genocide and mini-wars for centuries, such as the IRA, Libya, Israel, and more. My thought was 'now the U.S.A. has learned what the rest of the world has known for decades', that there are extremists who will try to scare people with low probabilities of death or injury for any one person or family(you have a greater chance of dying from an auto accident). IMHO, only cowards will completely surrender to these people by giving up hard-won rights and let some fast-talking person with the proverbial soapbox tell them how to live their lives.

You have to finish the quote. This is not about denigrating the Dr. Crow, it's about the priorities of our president and how he views the attack by a muslim fanatic as less important than recognizing a group visiting the whitehouse?

And of course it wasn't terrorism, especially religion of peace initiated act of terrorism, it was rather a 'man made disaster on american soil that in no way no how is to be considered an act of war by a terrorist, motivated by his religious views'.

                      This is just dumb. Seriuously.

They two are not mutually excluslive. Besides... If King George couldn't stop reading to schoolchilderen when we had PLANES FALLING FROM THE SKY and an ATTACK ON THE PENTAGON, then why the hell should President Obama call off eveything he's got goping on just because ONE GUY with TWO HANDGUNS shot some people in a military base?!

He made a statement. What else do you want? Should we invade Turkey or something? The guy was already caught. (SHOT, actually.) The army was already investigating. The President sent his condolences to the families, and the CRIMINAL was in custody and will be brough to justice.

SO YOU NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTION: What did you want [Obama] to do that he didn't? What DID he do that he shoudln't have?

Seems to me that you people just can't stand that things went so smoothly here. No malfunctioning radios (Thanks Rudy!) No headquarters underneath a collapsed building (thanks Rudy!) No family memebers being whisked away overseas in the middle of the night before they can be debriefed (thanks Bush/Cheney!)

So PLEASE... Tell me what OBAMA did that was so inappropriate here.

Reminds me of an old MAD magazine parody of McCarthy, where he pulled out a photo of Barry Goldwater wearing a 'Indian Chief's Headdress' and claimed that Goldwater was un-American. (This would be late 1950's/early 1960's... I may have it somewhere in my collection). Of course, Barry, as a native Arizonan (I'm a 'transplant' born in Illinois, myself, but have come to love this state...) had empathy (!!!!1!!) for the Native Americans because he knew they were people, not just a stereotype.

It is a documentation by MMfA of Rush Limbaugh's pattern of behavior. Doesn't matter if it is not breaking news not does it matter if it has been reported before. It is a record of the remark.

It's this documented pattern that Media Matters has compiled that may very well have been a factor in the Limbaugh bid to be a NFL team owner.

O.K., what we need here is a constitutional amendment that states clearly that everyone is guaranteed the right to a fair and speedy trial, unless you're accused of terrorism, or if the trial could possibly become a circus. In either of those instances, you can be tossed into prison forever. Because that's the American way.

I mean, really - what's the worst that could happen? Some rogue administration just detains their political opponents, accuses them of terrorism, and throws them in jail never to be heard from again? Heh, yeah. Like that's ever happened...
