I'm surprised Glenn Beck hasn't offered to do free mammograms...

The death panels she's now saying were not meant to be taken literally?

Is beck there because he is an idiot and Fox News likes him or because he is an idiot and so are the people who run Fox News.

Quick MMFA staff. Spell-checking required. What is a "nonbinging" mammogram exactly? As opposed to a "binging" mammogram?

I'm not sure where Beck got the "rationale" for this decision, but here is USPSTF's rationale: "The USPSTF found fair evidence that mammography screening every 12-33 months significantly reduces mortality from breast cancer. Evidence is strongest for women aged 50-69, the age group generally included in screening trials. For women aged 40-49, the evidence that screening mammography reduces mortality from breast cancer is weaker, and the absolute benefit of mammography is smaller, than it is for older women."

So what they are saying is that there is a small benefit for women to receive mammograms from ages 40-49, unless they have a family medical history of cancer. I might mention that the government is not rationing. These are merely guidelines and women are permitted to seek yearly exams if they so choose.

I love that Beck claims to know more than 13 licensed medical doctors about medicine and the human body. As we see again and again, Beck is doing what he does best, spreading lies and fear about a subject which he has absolutely no knowledge.
