Brittany Spears gets "hammered" quite a bit too, but she, like Sarah of the North, has decided it's worth it. Spears doesn't whine or play the victim as much as Palin does, but they're pretty similar.
That statement reminds me of Al Gore, but the money he is making dwarfs anything Palin is making. But the part about the idiots is comparable.
They had NO PROBLEM accusing Hillary Clinton of being a killer, too.
They accused Al Gore of being a serial liar, actually making up quotes and attributing them to him in a character assassination the effects of which are still being felt.
They accused John Kerry, a veteran of two tours in Vietnam and a recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal with "V" for valor and three Purple Hearts, of being a coward who faked his wounds and lied about his heroism, despite the eyewitness testimony of dozens of people who witnessed his service and insisted that his exploits were real and his awards earned.
They accused Max Cleland, a decorated combat veteran who was lost an arm and both legs in an accident after he volunteered for one last combat mission even though he was due to head home, of causing his own injuries by being drunk.
They accused Barack Obama of being a KenyanIndonesianMuslimCommunistSocialistTerrorist, and they not so subtly call for his assassination.
Trust me -- when it comes to being "hammered" the treatment Sarah Palin has received pales in comparison. She SHOULD BE called a shallow, ignorant, superficial, uninformed, self-centered habitual liar. Instead she's treated like a real author and a serious candidate for the presidency. She WROTE a book? Hell, she doesn't even READ them!
O'Reilly knows this, of course, but birds of a feather...
Plain derision will rile them up into making even bigger fools of themselves.
