Was that woman/girl actually 13? Did Beck confirm this by any method other than repeating it several times? If she's 13, I could cut her some slack, although the parents should be held responsible for brainwashing her into this cult.

Palinistas like Beck remind me of hardcore Michael Jackson fans, the hysterical and emotional response in defending any criticism of their idol.

not sure if she was thirteen, I doubt it but she clearly wasn't the guys daughter, if you look at the vid on utube they interviewed both of them separately and they have different last names. LOL, these guy's are like a comedy show.

They certainly try to be funny but their quality of language is a real stomach turner.

I usually find Beck funny when he is trying to be serious and he comes across as sick and sometimes perverted when he tries to be funny.

I don't laugh at their childlike banter. The typical silly conversation they had reflects the way I might of talked back in elementary or middle school at best. unintelligent non-sensical gibberish.

Col. the MJ fan anology is perfect. I hear people say, "MJ would not have liked that..." or speak of him in a way like they know him personally, sort of like the way Rush and Glenn fans "know" what he means and defend him by saying you have to listen to his "whole" broadcast(3hrs.)before you can "understand" them. Hahaha...cracks me up.

I was thinking the same thing. The supposed "father" identified himself as "Joe" and his supposed "daughter" was "Jackie". Would be nice if we could confirm one way or the other. This does look to me like another situation where the right treats speculation as fact and then goes from there.

        That's what I was thinking too, RNR. But look how easily Beck does this;

He takes a wild guess, in question form ("what is she, about 13?"), then repeats it (I didn't count, 5 or 6 times)as fact.

It's a safe bet that the typical beck fan now "knows" that O'Donnell attacked a thirteen year old.

The girl was misinformed and the reporter did her best to inform the girl. The difference between the girl and the boy interviewed was that the girl could not formulate an opinion or articulate a response, but the boy made a well said comment. Glenn Beck's response:

Well of course Palin was for it, that's how things work. Ever hear a VP go along with the president? The funny thing was, during the campaign, Palin espoused various stances that were contrary to McCain's, so what would make this time different? Palin was for it because it was popular to be for it, but now it is popular to be against it, and so she is against it.

Also, listen to how Glenn Beck jokes around, pretending to be O'Donnell calling the little girl a "wh**re sl**t"... ridiculous

The Man Who Beat Glenn Beck
      by Benjamin Sarlin
The controversial cable titan was so angry over a Web site parodying his show that he sued—and lost. Few hosts go after their targets harder than Glenn Beck, but apparently he throws punches a lot better than he takes them.

This week, Beck lost a legal battle to take down a parody site devoted to mocking the talk-show host’s use of innuendo and rumor in going after his political enemies. The domain name that provoked his ire was:

      GlennBeckRapedAndMurderedAYoungGirlIn1990.com

      [Not too funny, eh, Becky?]

I saw Norah O'Donnell interviewing other CLUELESS Palin supporters on line. The LIE on the teeshirt probably caught O'Donnell's attention.

if Glenn Beck his brain for more than spouting off at the mouth trying to get ratings he'd realize that the video on youtube that he's talking about clearly showed the guy he calls the girls father and the girls name separately while talking to both of them. They have different names so how could he assume the are father and daughter. And the girl look to be in her early twenties or 19 to say the least and that's pushing it. but the bigger issue is his assuming they are father and daughter as if he knows them. So entertaining.

As a matter of fact, during the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq, I can count NUMEROUS occassions when Hannity/O'Reilly, and yes, even Beck would go to the anti-war rallies, pick out the dumbest, most inarticulate teenage dolts and air their positions for mockery, holding the soundbytes up as a representation of the anti-war movement, so pot...meet kettle. What is wrong with educating misguided people? It doesn't matter how young they are. If the young lady was armed with knowledge and facts before someone sent her out on a mission this could not have happened. We have enough Tea Baggers.
Now she can either confront those who sent her out, or she can do some research. This could be a good learning lessen for the girl.
I don't see anything wrong with what the reporter did and I'm sure she interviewed other people.
But you know what is disturbing? Beck and boys reacted so immaturely. These people are supposed to be professionals.
Here is something else that is disturbing; Sarah Palin and the people who admire and support her.
Unqualified Palin was a lousy, divisive Vice-presidential candidate AND she was a terrible Governor who quit her job.
Not only that, but she wanted to continue the failed policies of the Bush Administration. If that's not disturbing, nothing is.

Manofmystique: You make excellent points, and will therefore be ignored or deliberately misunderstood by the Beck and/or Palin apologists.

Beck - and anybody else supporting Palin - can't let afford to let this stand because it shows how absolutely clueless and uninformed their followers are. Beck is a dishonest, whiney, crazy conspiracy theorist who openly panders to those who prefer lies to reality. It's impossible to even have a rational conversation with them because they are deliberately irrational and cling to their nonsensical talking points rather than dealing with actual facts (which, as we all know, have a liberal bias).

From my eye as a former teacher, the young woman is older than 13, she is somewhere around 18-20, the man next to her is not her father. And she was among the group that had spent the night at the store, I think, in order to get her book signed. Glenn is really beside himself with nastiness! He is attacking yet another woman, and he is really gross and menacing. Norah was polite to the young woman. Conservatives didn't have any trouble bashing 6 and 7 year olds for singing a song about the President. Why should they object when asking someone who is of voting age, to explain policy issues? I love T-shirt statements. I am always very careful to say I understand and agree with the message. Not everyone is so circumspect (I don't know how many kids I saw in Che Guevara T's who didn't know who he was. Dumb.)

Wow he wants the "father" to go down for child abuse?
Ok assuming that the girl is 13 and the man is her father, Beck really should play the full clip.

You know the one where after interviewing the "girl" she turns to the "father" and asks him the same questions and he has a ready to go explanation for how palin could be for the stimulus and later against it, and an explanition that sounds plausable.

Which means by the end of the clip if the man was her dad he actually bailed out his daughter, which you know would be honerable.

And if as is probibly the case the man and the probibly 20 something girl didnt know each other, then really the man interjecting him self to stop the girl from embarassing her self on tv is even more of a honerable act.

And thats the guy Beck wants to stick the cops on....A guy who at worse helped a stranger not make any more of a fool of her self on national TV.

I dont agree with the man in the full clip. I'm not even sure his anwser held water, but I do at least respect him for taking the heat off of someone who had already admitted to not knowing or careing about the subject of the question.

if glen beck was a character in a movie, the film would be panned for not being realistic

I agree with Beck. Congratulations O'Donnell on winning a debate with a teenager...with written comments from your notepad. Why don't you pick on one of us ADULT Palin supporters who read voraciously, get our news from sources OTHER than government-sponsored branches of General Electric, and judge our reporters by their ability to find newsworthy stories.

It's becoming more and more clear why people don't watch NBC, CNN, ABC, and CBS. FOX is far from perfect, but they're the closest thing to 'fair and balanced' on television today.

(Media Matters people - I'd be *happy* to debate your favorite newscaster or Obama voter, toe-to-toe, at a place and time of your choosing. Bring a camera. We'll discuss facts and figures. Truth and honesty.)

That wasn't a debate, O'Donnell only asked a Palin supporter( who was not 13 years old) if she was aware that her t-shirt had a message that contradicted Palin's position. The Palin fan seemed very confused and uninformed.

You might want to put off that debate challenge until you can get past the tired Dittohead talking points that make up your comment here. Most of the "debate" would have to be spent bringing you up to speed.

        You are an inferior thinker...

Now (Friday 11/20) the truth comes out.

The young lady - Jackie - is 17, and although she apparently doesn't have a clue she does have a blog.

She thinks Ms. O'Donnell asked her a "gotcha" question. In other words, a reporter read Jackie's t-shirt and then asked her about it.

      Talk about liberal bias!

Jackie complains she "had to think on her feet." That's clearly asking too much of a conservative high school senior. Guess that private school thing is really working for her.

Jackie didn't like the fact she didn't get the question in advance. How the heck does she think she is - The Gov'Nor on another infomercial with Bull O'Really?

Apparently Jackie is a graduate of the Conservative-woman-as-victim school (The Gov'Nor being the most famous graduate - there are countless others, of course).

Fascinating that Jackie admires Mrs. Palin beause "she speaks her mind." She can't admire Hilary Clinton because Jackie doesn't agree with her views. But doesn't Ms. Clinton "speak her mind?" Ask Bill about that one...

So Glum Bleek's disgusting dream about a 13-year old crashes and burns. As does just about everything else he said about this.

first of all, beck doesnt even know the girl is 13 years old. she was really 17. hes guessing, yet, he keeps repeating the age as if it is factual, even though, he doesnt really know for a fact. second of all, if she has enough sense to wear a shirt that says something like that, she deserves a history lesson on why it makes no sense. third, its not like norah was mean to her. she asked a simple yes or no question.

what were these clowns even laughing at? i didnt hear anything funny. and how can this moron talk about desperate? you want desperation? look at your own show, idiot. desperate doesnt even begin to explain it.
