Actually every once in awhile, Van Susteren shows the OLD even-handed commentary that she used to be noted for. Alas not often but once in awhile, she puts down the liars and I say, "Good for her." But I do wish the old Greta would show up more often so she would do it more consistently. Seems she has drunk the right wing KoolAid since joining Fox. Still, she gets some credit for being the most fair and balanced on the Fox Network. Well, a bit of credit anyway.

In media parlance she "pivoted." She changed the subject because of Morris' blatant hypocrisy. Greta was desperately clinging on to some degree of respectability, but she didn't challenge him on his vendetta for being fired by the Clintons for that incident with the hooker (he let her listen in to his calls with Clinton while sucking her toes).

Everyone at Fox knows about that heinous incident and just gives this disgruntled freak and failure a platform to wreak his revenge. Greta knows full well why he was doing what he was doing and let it go. So much from a so-called liberal journalist/commentator on Fox.

She is even-handed all the time and much more so than any of the idiots who pollute the airwaves on MSNBC between 6 and 10 p.m.

Your teaser about "Van Susteren 'slaps' down Dick Morris' 'gratuitous" reference to Hillary Clinton" is correct on two counts. Both "slaps" and "gratuitous" are in quotes thus empahsizing the irony of both terms. In fact, Greta's comment was not much of a slap. Nor is Morris' criticism of Hillary gratuitous. He's constantly attacking the Clintons and virtually all pogressive non-Republican thought. Basically, Greta seems to have replaced Combes in the FOX line-up. She's about as "fair and balanced" as all the others on that network.

I like how he just said she (Palin) quit because she couldn't take criticism.

        Great.

Morris has had a fixation on Hillary Clinton for a very long time. At least 2 books and the country's self-proclaimed roving expert on Ms. Clinton. I can't help but wonder if he didn't at some point come on to her, got rejected, and since has made her his enemy. Morris is one of the sleaziest, slimiest weasels in politics.

Further down in that interview Morris made another sexist comment and Sustern really went at him. These people get so comfortable in this environment that they think no matter what they say will be supported.
