I suspect the rhetoric and lies will keep getting crazier and crazier as we get closer to a final health care bill.

Tell the 40 or 45 million uninsured about thier inalienable rights to die, due to the lack of a bypass surgery or cancer treatment.

One more thing about the 100 year old woman who wanted a pacemaker. It was her first doctor who said he didn't want to perform the surgery, not Medicare. When she found a doctor to perform the surgery, Medicare paid for the procedure.

Cal, all you are is a shill for the insurance companies. If you ever took a principled stand on anything, the earth would probably stop spinning on its axis, and revolving around the sun in one fell swoop.

So my "ability to pay" shouldn't come into the equation, Cal? I don't think your capitalist friends like that idea. That's where health care is rationed now. The difference is that folks pay and pay into the system while they're in good health, only to find bean counters moving the goalposts when it's time for medical costs to be borne.

Guys maybe if I talk about old ladies dying enough, somebody will listen to me.

*weeps in my car on the way home*

Huh? What? Oh, sorry, I have a tendency to imitate people I see saying stupid things.

Cal's most worried about the proposed tax on plastic surgery: that would hit him hard.

If conservatives had even an ounce of integrity, or balls...

They would pull themselves out of Medicare. After all, it's just socialism, it's just communism, it's just fascism.

But what do conservatives do?...Scream and shout, and then go hide under the kitchen table--as usual.

Exactly - Rep Anthony Weiner dares the republicans to reject extending the medicare bill for the next few years and guess what? It passed with overwhelming support by both parties. Reagan was wrong and an idiot - medicare is not only not the path towards socialism but the most popular government program in this nation's history/ Thank you to LBJ who never gets the respect he deserves for passing the most progressive and successful legislation this country had seen since FDR and through a congress that was almost as miserable as the current one.

run 1/6th of economy? LIE - private insurance and hospitals are not run by government! Fund abortion with taxes? LIE - federal law already in place has nothing to do with this bill says no federal taxes can be used for abortions! In fact, abortions may be even more difficult to get than before. Euthanasia? LIE - not a single person will be condemned to death as a result of the passage of this bill. Nothing is set up to deny care to the elderly, the youth or any one in between. More more government agencies will be set up than with the creation of homeland security. The only assault of our civil liberties was the PATRIOT Act. And obama has been in charge of Afghanistan for almost a year - we started fighting almost a decade ago. Whos fault is it that we left afghanistan to invade iraq again?

      death panels? euthanasia?

I thought a "death panel" is where a group decides whether you live or die and euthanasia, mercy killing, is something a patient would decide. Being somebody who is pro-choice I would be for some sort of euthansia and there may be a good chance some people would like to have that choice in cases of severe terminal illness.

      but I digress,

If these talking heads want to get into death by the medical profession they should look into the effects of modern medicine. The third greatest killer of Americans with over 100,000 deaths a year is prescription medicine. A little rationing of the poisons known as medicine might actually save more lives.

This isn't fearmongering these are facts.

These Fox idiots can't let go of Republicans tried talking points. They continue the same distortions and lies over and over again. "Euthanasia"? "The media and Healthcare experts have debunked the death Panels time and time again.
What in the hell makes anyone think this government, or any American government would try to get away with killing old people in the name of Healthcare?
This kind of miss-information should bring scrutiny to those who make such claims. They should lose credibility and branded liars. Hell, Republicans, and most of the media won't let Obama nor his administration get away with outright lying, why not hold them accountable for what they say?

I would say the real outrage is people claiming that "euthanasia is coming." Especially since they know it's a lie.

Thomas claims about health care reform: "It is an outrage, it is a sham, euthanasia is coming."

You know I asked and will continue to ask what reform the Republicans passed that did not increase business profit but instead helped the american people? I can answer that one! NOTHING! I know the Democrats proposal is watered down, and hopefully not watered to where it is just the same as status quo. This debate should never be this complicated and full of badgering on both sides with most of the polititians yelling the ones are bought by corporations.

It should have been universal single-payer and no less.
