Dietl thinks he's still in NYC street. Calm down, boy.

Celebrity private eye Bo Dietl, one of the NYPD's most decorated detectives, fed inside information to the Gambino family, a Mafia snitch told the FBI.

The bearded, bombastic Dietl was one of 11 allegedly crooked cops named by mob turncoat John Alite, a key government witness in next week's trial against ex-Gambino boss John A. (Junior) Gotti.

I like how Imus handled this. Deitl was ranting and raving. Maybe he needs to go back and hold court in some cop bar. I understand and share some of his outrage, but the problem is, Reaganomics, and Alan Greenspan allowed the creation of financial institutions that were so large and so spread out, that if they failed, they would have been wiped out, but so would all the rest of us. We learned lessons back in the early 20th century, first in the Trust-busting Era of Teddy Roosevelt, and later, with the Depression. Unfortunately, with the election of Ronald Reagan, we started down a course to unlearn and undermine all of the reforms of that earlier time. And do remember that many Fox commentators were decrying the attempts to restrict Wall Street bonuses because that would be telling corporations how much they could pay people and that would be bad, very bad. Once again, a conservative who wants his cake and to eat it, too.

What a tough guy. The irony is that former boxer Reid would mop the floor with this guy.

Anyone else think the Rutgers affair taught Imus he needed a bigger jerk around as a safety net?

You might not always agree with Imus but I love some of his comments. Timely and humorous, I think Imus tries for the most part to call things as he sees them even though at times could be offensive. Of course he owns up to his own comments as well.

Frankly, I've never listened to Imus before now and I don't claim to understand him very well. I'm merely commenting on what I've seen of him lately that has been posted on MMfA.
