Right-wing professional liars love to tout the bravery of their cousins, nephews, and father's former roommates who have answered the call of military service. They also like including their association on their verbal business card when displaying their expertise on all things war and military.

Coincidentally, guess who else has a nephew in the military...

"My nephew just enlisted in the Army. You don't know what the hell you're talking about."

From your link...I had to laugh

O'REILLY: If we cut and run out of there like you want to do, we would be putting every American in a thousand times more jeopardy than they're in now.

DONAHUE: We're going to cut and run anyway, Bill.

          O'REILLY: Well, that's your opinion.

[b]What does beck want a medal for having a family member in the military? Join the club.

Beck cant guarantee that this admin won't use the army for a political ploy. iRONICALLY, beck had no problem supporting the army when bush was in office. EVEN WHEN WE WENT TO IRAQ for no real reason, beck not only didnt think Bush's admin was using the army for some ulterior motive (which he was) but he happily and without any proof read off all the lies that bush promoted as to why we were fighting there. FOX news viewers were disturbingly uninformed when polled last year about the reasons we went into Iraq. Most STILL THOUGHT Iraq had WMDs and we found them. Most still thought iraq had ties with al queda and with 9/11. I wonder why that is. Maybe cause beck and his fellow crooks were spewing out all the refuse that the bush admin was feeding them. Thanks beck for aiding in the public to consent to a war we still have no fricken clue why we fought. Your nephews not the baby killer but maybe you are. And seriously who in America is heckling troops nevermind calling them baby killers. We are no longer in vietnam beck. I now its hard to keep reality separate from fiction for you.

Glenn Beck, proudly doing his part to protect his "white culture" by advising Americans not to serve their country.

Our military and its recruiters should take note.

Obama's about to add tens of thousands more in Afghanistan, very much in line with what the Pentagon wants and increasing our commitment to its highest levels.

So Beck's little tirade once again contradicts plain FACT. The delusions they just keep a comin'.

Craziest man ever to be given a microphone.

When did our government or anyone paint soldiers as "baby killers"?

The only time I can recall off-hand was during the Vietnam War, when Lt. William Cally and his men were called "baby killers" after the My Lai Massacre - and that was only because they actually killed babies.

You can read more about the My Lai Massacre by following this link.

My point is that the term "baby killers" is one dreamed up by Hollywod and used in too many bad movies.

Calley and his platoon killed babies but weren't called that by our governemnt.

My response to anyone who makes a claim about soldiers being abused by citizens is that during those times, we all either served in Vietnam, or had sons, fathers, brothers, cousins or uncles who served. If anyone had seen a civilian abusing a soldier, they would have stepped up to defend someone who could have been their brother, father, cousin, uncle or son.

Many of us were against the war, but supported our brothers.

It wasn't like today. Every family was touched in some way.

The only ones calling anyone "baby-killers" now (and the government NEVER did it) are Glenn Beck, referring to President Obama, and Bill O'Reilly, referring to Dr George Tiller. And we know how O'Reilly's hate-filled rants ended up.

No one else in any kind of a high-profile position is doing anything of the sort.

Don't you watch TV or movies, W-King ? Ever since the Civil War, returning soldiers have been greeted by hippies, beatniks and homosexuals, spitting on the troops and calling them baby-killers.

I've seen many posts on this website from people claiming that they were called baby-killers when they returned from war. Most of them got too busy to post when asked for details about their service, but I give them the benefit of the doubt.

I've personally heard the term "baby-killers" many times in my life. True, it was usually out of the mouths of ultra-conservative Real Americans, and directed at those who didn't believe the government nanny-state should force women to give birth, but that's beside the point. The words "baby-killer" were used.

I know what you mean. Who could forget one famous poster who blamed his college professor for poisoning his mind against the war? He had a lot of those stories.

I think this professor also spit on his students if I remember correctly.

You know, eventually the day is going to come when he loses it and he's put on an involuntary hold in a psychiatric wing.

I don't know when it's going to come, but it's going to come. I'm betting that it's either going to happen if health care passes or if Republicans don't re-take the House and Senate in huge numbers in the fall.

Use soldiers for political purposes? What planet have you been living on. Invading Iraq wasn't political?

I used to write Beck off as just another nut case on radio and Fox Noise, now I consider him the king of hypocrisy, the dumbest and most opportunistic man that ever lived.

One more thing, wonder if the Mormon Church will ever speak out against this man who spews hatred everyday for a living. I won't be holding my breath on this one.

The military is not going to be called "baby killers" by the administration only the criminals in the military. These people should be prosicuted (court martialed) under the USMJ for murder. The problem is the right will fight any attempts a true justice in the military. I am a Navy vet.

So Beck has counseled his nephew not to reenlist because he can't guarantee that "this Congress & President" won't use him for political purposes. I guess it was ok for his nephew to be used for political purposes under Bush. And who in government is going to paint the troops as "baby killers'? What kind of BS is that?
Oh that's right, in Beck's deluded mind all Democrats hate the troops and call them "baby killers." >eyes rolling<
