You have it sort of right they are not being taught to be Jezebels but these are the women that the media is putting in front of them as role modles. These include the likes of Paris and Nikki Hilton and and many of the young women on reality TV. We need to show the responsible women in real life as role modles. You are a male Jezebel in your words.

I think it's safe to say that every generation wrings its hands and wonders "What's becoming of our young people."

I remember how horrified my parents were when they saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

The other night PBS had an hourlong special about the Mamas and the Papas - I sang along with every single song. I was surprised that despite not hearing most of the songs in decades I could still repeat every word.

But their clothing! Omigod. How did they ever think that those things were stylish?

Savage makes a good point here. I mean, our society is overly sexualized.

Our girls grow up admiring people like Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears. Those people are idiots and their actions and imagery don't happen in a vacuum. Girls see that and emulate that BS.

Just like boys see the criminality and player lifestyle in the entertainment industry and emulate that BS.

A well-known sexist? It doesn't take a sexist to disagree with every thing the feminist movement would have society believe. Many women don't even agree with all their crap.

Also, thinking that young ladies should think better of themselves shows me that he cares about women.

Nothing upsets sexists more than liberated female sexuality. Is there a problem with the marketing of sex and sexuality to younger and younger children, especially girls? Yes. And it does take a sexist to disagree with everything the feminist movement espouses. Perhaps you should research some of the basic tenets of feminism before you make blanket statements of disapproval. But, for a troll who would stand up for Savage, idiotic knee-jerk statements are to be expected.

And what would that be? Feminism as a whole is in favor of the models presented by Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears? Really?

I recently had an argument with an acquaintance because he dislikes feminists because they are "anti-pornography" (also not true of the movement as a whole), a position that would seem to be in harmony with your "society is overly sexualized" position.

The feminist movement is in fact extremely varied on a wide array of subjects.

"for a troll who would stand up for Savage"

And Glenn Beck. Yesterday, Dork was saying that only men who rape women should be responsible for the pregnancy. In cases of consensual sex, since it was the woman's choice to have sex and get pregnant she should bear all the responsibility. If the sex was consensual, and no precautions taken, it is equal responsibility in my eyes. I'm forgiving that remark, but I'm not forgetting it.

I just think that women are the ultimate ones who determine who has impregnates them. I mean, the woman is the one who carries the baby. I just think once the fetus is growing, it's on the woman to care for the life inside of her.

I guess this is just more bigoted thinking on my part.

A child has two parents, and if a man is going to engage in unprotected sex, he should expect to be responsible for any child that comes of it. That is really what being a man is all about, taking responsibility. Now, if a man is unwilling to pay for and help raise a child, he forfeits the right to decide the child's fate, but he should still pay for the abortion if that is what she chooses. A real man knows this and is more careful about having sex, in order to avoid the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy. A good man is someone deeply involved in the lives of his children, just as a mother is.

One has to be a sexist to claim that allowing women into the Navy turned the ships into "floating brothels", or that allowing women to serve as Senators made it "vicious and histrionic", or to regularly compare liberal women to prostitutes. You're aware of all this, of course, and you don't care; the important thing is making sure your guy gets defended, regardless of reality.

"Also, thinking that young ladies should think better of themselves shows me that he cares about women."

So, young ladies, or women of any age, marital status, race, class, etc. should think better of themselves by keeping their legs shut and "saving" themselves for THE night? Whatever a woman thinks is her own business not mine nor anyone elses just as my morals and ethics are simply that ... mine and in no way should be fostered upon anyone else. I don't think that anyones, woman's or man's sex lives are any of MY business unless he/she is my partner. As for Savage caring about women ... I have a very hard time even considering it for a minute.

Wiener cares about women in the way that he believes they belong to a man and shouldn't be comfortable with their sexuality. I agree that our society is over sexualized, but I'm sure Wiener's view of how we should combat that is very far from rational (as evidenced by his other comments). Instead of showing women that they are not powerless and can control their own destiny without showing cleavage, he would rather subjugate women and have them obey men, who would ban them from being "jezebels".

Girls see that and emulate that BS.

If only there were some figures in children's lives who could teach them otherwise, rather than blaming it all on images on a TV they could turn off whenever they chose. People who could, if you will, "parent" these children. Can you think of anyone like that? It sounds SO familiar...

What you are mentionining is being used as role models not teaching. That is the flaw with this thinking. I agree we are overly sexulized but it started with the idea that sex sels in marketting and has grown from there. Please learn the truth not just make a false argument.

Hey Dork, why don't you concern troll for Beck when he compares himself to Dr. King or with Rush calls for a military coup? These are the same morons that you defend on other ridiculous points, but when evidence is shown that they are unstable bigots, have no grasp of factual history, and have no clue what they are talking about, I notice you skip concern trolling for them. These are the same lying bigots that you seem to get information from, and agree with quite often. If massive documentation of one of my sources of information was done and they proved time and time again how intolerant and ill-informed they were, I would begin to question anything they said. Not you it seems...could it be that you are just a partisan hack? 20 bucks on yes.

What does this masygonist pig think about women, judge for yourself:

" . . any heterosexual woman today over the age of 25 who grew up in America is basically a dominatrix. You ask any heterosexual guy. Within a short period of time -- what do you think it's going to last? Ehhh -- 90 days and after that you're living with a dominatrix anyway, so what's the difference?"

It' a conversation-starter, all right, but if he only talks about the media message for girls and ignores that boys are taught they're not complete people if they don't have their own "jezebel," then he's perpetuating the same old double standard.
