Sarah Palin may be included in that packaged deal, so I doubt Russia would bite.

Huh? Did that make any sense? He seems to be saying that if we don't use the coal and oil reserves in the U.S., Alaska included, Russia will invade and take back Alaska. Then he says will have to sell the stuff to China instead, but China is the Persian Gulf? And of course, Liberals hate America, and we somehow think we will be better off if China and Russia use these resources to pollute the world, instead of us. He must be drinking. I didn't really understand what he meant.

Well, no, but this was worse than usual, the message was so mixed up it didn't even rate on the strange scale. My husband has been thinking the last couple of weeks of all the havoc that would happen if just some of his ideas were put into place in order to save the Constitution. His destructive streak is quite large.

My husband was pondering writing a book about all that could go wrong if the Teabaggers rose up and actually put Glennie's plan into action. For instance, getting rid of Social Security, which Glennie says is unconstitutional, many of the elderly would be thrown into immediate poverty, who would take care of them? And what happens if the Wall of Separation between Church and State falls?

I kinda like what I've seen of New Zealand, it reminded me of Oregon when I watched Lord of the Rings. But Australia has opals. But, yeah, I don't want to be around if that Wall falls. I enjoy going to Mass, but I do not want my Church running my government, and I don't want my government running my Church....and I sure as hell don't want a Bible-Thumper running my life!

First of all, we need to turn the light on for Glenn - Russia has their own huge oil reserves and are doing quite well without help from Alaska or the Gulf Coast. In fact, many of the oilfield hands that once worked in Alaska are now employed in Russia.

there are numerous oil fields in Siberia that are known to exist that but are not even touched yet......and the best part is that there is more oil there than the entire middle east combined! not to mention the massive gold veins that are there as well that are untouched.

I think I saw this plot in a Clancy novel... or wait, does anyone remember the TV series, World War III with David Soul?

Beck is truly moronic... he's lucid enough to recognize the problem with US relying on Oil, but his solution is to use it before Russia invades?

How about finding an alternative energy source?

Wow... his incoherent ramblings have truly become that of the schizophrenic on the street corner.

If we don't use it like we're drunken sailors, then in a few decades when the world gets desperate for the remaining oil reserves, we'll regret having some remaining reserves?

I don't understand that thinking. How is it better to use it up now, and be dependent on suppliers who have some left 50-100 years from now? Wouldn't it be better to save as much as we can of our own reserves now?

You took the words right out of my mouth - until alternative fuels or technology become available we should save our reserves as much as possible. Our agriculture and heavy construction industries would absolutely collapse without diesel fuel - that is a fact. If future technology advances provide us with a different means of powering farm equipment, caterpillars, train locamotives, etc. this would allow us to leave some precious oil reserves to future generations.

Thank you for bringing that up.

your tossing together The Bear and the Dragon and Red Storm Rising. except in REd Storm Rising the Russians wanted the Middle East and went into Europe to ensure they had a free hand. and the Bear and the Dragon you had China going into Siberia

I'm kind of amazed (and surely naive for being amazed) that Beck has not yet felt the need to adress his off-the-charts idiotic recent statements about separation of church and state.

Considering how much Beck seems to jack off to the founding fathers, I semi-expected him to at least address that gigantic contradiction. I was looking forward to it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yep the continued destruction of Alaska's enviroment to maintain profits for big oil refineries. SMH!

Was 1988 enough for those people up there! That mess is still in the soil up there!
