Is MMFA a person? Furthermore, does anyone at MMFA listen to enlighten themselves with the unbounded wisdom of the intellectual giant called Rush Limbaugh, or does the MMFA staff listen to give us a glimpse of how ridiculous and slimy this man really is? We report, you decide......right?

It's part of their job description, poor souls. I can only stand to listen to him for a few minutes at a time. I have to travel a lot in my job and I listen to folks like Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, etc., in order to stay awake on miles of country roads. It's hard to go to sleep at the wheel when you're yelling at these lamebrained idiots who are spouting their BS. Works very well.

By every measure available to us, conservative beliefs are found most frequently among the uninformed, the poorly educated, and the less intelligent"(McClosky, H. Conservatism and Personality. American Political Science Review, 52, 27-45.)

Ir really is scary. I have several in my family. They don't just hold their nose and vote R to lower their tax bills. They gladly lap up all the bile that is fed them. They happily disregard their learning to fully embrace every aspect of this disgraceful ideology. It's like a sickness that blinds their better judgement, their ability to reason, their very ability to think for themselves.

And they project these intellectual failings onto me for my liberalism, despite my ability to defeat their arguments (which inevitably results in a holiday-ruining temper tantrum on their part).

It's at the point where family gatherings are like walking on eggshells. It's completely forbidden to talk politics. And if we try to talk politics, it gets so bogged down in things that don't matter, because all they can do is change the subject (you did the same thing to Bush, why are liberals stifling dissent, socialism!)...

It's reached the point where you can't have a reasoned, intelligent, fact-based discussion with any right-winger, no matter his intelligence or education. I can't start with a basis of things we can agree on, because the basic facts are now a matter of dispute in the fantasy world of the right wing. I usually get about as far as the question: do you believe CO2 is a greenhouse gas? (These people are scientists, hit them with quantum physics they can't dispute and the fingers go into the ears.)

Rush Limbaugh enrolled in a small state college in Missouri where he flunked out of every one of his classes, including ballroom dancing. There are many foolish people with degrees, but there are also many foolish people who could not get a degree if they tried, because they are foolish. Some idiots manage to end up with their own talk programs, like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.

From an inside perspective you are 100% correct. All a degree is in this day and age is a very expensive piece of paper indicating you were able to tolerate over-educated trolls who believe academia is reality when it really is the farthest thing from. Much like K-12, colleges and universities have decided that diversity and multiculturalism is more important than those annoying things like reading, writing , and arithmetic.

Learning how to read write, and count is still the same.People talk about new kind of schools. They just need to go.Multiculturalism is a a cheer used buy so called conservatives to cut education, and make sure all cultures are not educated. This prevents them from helping themselves, and insures a permanent underclass. The results from this very thing happening is all around you from the student loan plague put on the USA by the conservatives(republicans). Why was the USA paying banks $50 billion dollars per year to adminster the government's student loan program. And gave the banks the legal power to use the IRS to collect for their private loans too.Back to diversity, and multiculturalism,Do you have a problem with people of all cultures in the USA getting an education so they can help themselves, their family, and the country where we all live???A degree means you should have some tools to use to get a life education with. All us in the USA,are in the same boat.People in that boat getting an education can help all.Somebody may engineer a way for the boat to work better.

And those who are intelligent are uninformed.

I still get emails from my rightwing pals telling me that Obama was banning guns or banning ammo or any number of things.

On the fact-checking sites, the most egregious lies and distortions come from the right, and despite the fact that they're easily debunked, too many on the right fail to ever even try to debunk them or learn more. It's their desire to have their preconceived notions confirmed that blinds them, and it's also what makes them tune into Rush and FoxNews.

I have noticed the same thing. In the past month I have received a dozen pieces of hate e-mail about Obama, each one of which was chock full of misinformation, distortions, and outright lies. Things that were clearly false. I was reminded of a Daily Show episode where John Stewart complained the Bush Administration wasn't even putting any effort into their lies. They couldn't bother to make up even half-way credible lies.

One would think liberals would be just as likely to lie--we are all human beings sometimes prone to the basest acts. I guess the difference is that liberals don't pass along information they know is false, even if it supports their preferences or beliefs. I don't know that this is true--I offer it only as a theory to explain the difference.

Why does Media Matters even take time to post these stupid childish attacks by Limbaugh? Every single day he calls Obama a man child. Limbaugh, the guy who avoided going to Vietnam by claiming he had an anal boil that rendered him unfit for service, is now the tough war supporting talk show host who chides any Democrat as a pathetic weakling. You are guaranteed a man-child comment from Limbaugh every single day until Obama is out of the Presidency. I wouldn't bother wasting time posting them.

They post every example of it because it doesn't stop being conservative misinformation just because it's been said multiple times before.

They post it because it poisons our national debate, and the only way to remedy that it to expose it every time it happens. We can't stop him from spouting nonsense, but we can try to insure it doesn't get credibility it doesn't deserve by exposing it over and over again.

But the loyal Rushbots don't care so it doesn't affect the credibility of the ridiculous statements. It just bolsters their support of Rush . . . it's about the authoritarian mindset. He says these things with "authority," therefore, he has to be someone who is trusted and believed. It's sick, but it's part of the human psyche. Some folks REQUIRE this sort of hateful rhetoric to feel secure.

Yea but at the same time I bet he likes saying that stuff because it gets him attention on websites like Media Matters. It feeds his ego.
It's a complex problem I suppose, but I think it's a waste of time listening to Limbaugh call him a man-child, which he does every single day. Of course listening to Limbaugh at all, no matter what he is saying, is a waste of time, so I probably shouldn't show prejudice to one time wasting utterance over another similar time wasting utterance if the point is to just capture them all.

Ignoring the SwiftBoat Vets didn't work out too well for John Kerry.

Ignoring Rush for a decade didn't work out too well for our nation's debate.

You're wrong about this. The point is to capture them all.

And I don't think attention from MMFA affects what he says at all. He is aiming toward his audience, and not towards making us irate.

I think posting them is only part of the intent. Recording, documenting and cataloging them produces a comprehensive and easily-referenced record that's available to anyone. Whenever someone feels compelled to diagnose Limbaugh's sickness, they have a detailed record of the symptoms to reinforce their conclusion.

You make a valid point Toombsie. However, I think until the MSM wakes up and does its' job, it's right to highlight this fat bastard's idiocy. Ever notice how Limpballs and his ilk say these types of things daily, and should someone in the Administration respond -- they're accused of "attacking" a private citizen. He is not a private citizen at all, he's a public figure with a huge megaphone. They're not attacking at all, they're responding. But the dumbed-down years dating back to Reagan are only waning, they're not over yet. Not until fatso is fully discredited by the very same media that take him seriously as a pundit and influential political figure.

I say bring back the draft and state that no exemptions for anyone under 75 years old. Let’s just see who is for war then. If you can breath, you go, if you can walk you go, if you have to depend on a wheel chair, walker or whatever you go…if we are going to be a war culture, then your ass is going and not set back here in the good old United States and let the young and poor white, black, brown, red and yellow do all the heavy lifting while you set on your fat asses on the radio, tv fat butt beauty queen with her two drones and all the blonds, black and whites at fox news, even fat ass cavuto. The only folks that will be exempt will be those that have served with honor and whether they are from the left or right.
Special list of draftees: malkin, rush, hannity, beck, all of fox and friends, carlson and drones, o’reilly, no exemptions for murdoch and ailes; put coulter right up front with all the chickenhawks that got out of the Vietnam War, the cheneys… the whole damn family, junior bush and his brothers, rommey and his boys bring their mom along to cook. Obama is wimpy, yet, he alone is bringing socialism to the country and taking it over, and "changing" the country right before our very eyes.

It does amaze me how they can accuse Obama of one thing, and then totally destroy their own argument in the next sentence.

It's sort of like, how they keep saying how Obama hasn't done anything, and yet, everything he's done is destroying our country. So what is it? Has he done anything, or hasn't he?
