Yeah we like it when our commander in chief tells the enemy to wait 18 months till we leave. We like it when there is no call for victory, we are such an enemy to our troops.

Nice repeat of the talking points.

Because, he, meaning Obama, did talk about winning. He just didn't use that word and all. I know you guys who claim to be republicans are short on reading and or understanding nuance.

As someone else has pointed out, were NOT leaving in 18 months, we will start to draw down in 18 months, UNLESS, there is a change of plans.

Were you mad at Rumsfeld and Cheney when they announced that we wouldn't be in Iraq for too long. Maybe a few months?

We are such an enemy to our troops, that we increased their funding, or I should say, Obama increased their funding. He has also been putting more money into individual soldier equipment and all.

I totaly agree nerzog! Remember back in 2002 or 2003 when MoveOn- (or was it the Daily Kos?)--had a video contest about Bush and someone sent in a video comparing Bush to the Nazi's? Well the Right was livid! Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck all screamed, "How DARE you compare the President of the United States to the Nazi's!" Of course now that Obama is in office not a day goes by that the Right doesn't compare him to a Nazi. The hypocrisy is overwhelming!

Talk show host, Randi Rhodes once made a comment to the order of; Fredo (W) was such an embarrassment to the rest of the Corleone (Bush) family, they should take him out on the lake and (sound bite of a gunshot) get rid of their "problem".

IIRC, Rhodes was let go/suspended over that.

And that was just a contest entry. It wasn't created, endorsed or used by MoveOn. Basically it had about as much to do with MoveOn as this comment has to do with Media Matters. Yet every once in a while a troll will pop-up claiming that MoveOn ran an ad calling Bush a Nazi.

I hate to say I told you so, but I and several others predicted that it wouldn't take long for these dooshbags to reverse themselves on whether or not it's okay to criticize the Commmander in Chief when we have troops in harms way.

5 years ago, they said it would "hurt the morale of the troops". Funny how that's no longer a problem.

If I remember correctly, we were called treasonous and non patriotic because we opposed Bush's plans for invading Iraq. I don't remember very many folks on the liberal side of the world who were in disagreement with going into Afghanistan.

Also, Nerzog above was just pointing out what large scale hypocrites guys like Limbaugh and others are, because when Bush was criticized, they were the first ones jumping to his defense saying we shouldn't talk badly about the President in a time of war, it seems that just depends on who is sitting in the Oval Office.

And what happened to all of the republicans who said they supported the troops by deploying them to war zones over and over again?

Chris Matthew's description of West Point was a bit extreme, but most of the military that I have met are Republican or Conservative. There are a few Democrats, but not that many. I do not believe that the White House is the enemy camp, I didn't even believe that when it was held by Republicans for 20 of the last 29 years. I do think that Rush is right when he talks about people revealing more about themselves when they are panicked. I think his view of the White House as the enemy camp and the President as a small, weak, man-child is very revealing of his state of mind-petty, jealous, and spiteful.

Best critique I ever heard of Limbaugh went something like: "His repulsiveness isn't based on 'what will he say next.' It's based on 'what won't he say next?'" Or more concisely, he'll say anything, like some sort of verbal loose cannon unable to control itself.

This is a classic example. Unable to find anything he can disagree with solidly in Obama's speech, Limbaugh simply says stuff like this.

Hell, even Mike Gallagher came out today in support of what Obama had to say...much to the chagrin of many listeners.

If Rush believes, as many conservatives do, that country is going in the wrong direction, then field a candidate who can beat Obama in 2012, and field candidates who can beat Democrats in congressional elections in 2010.

      Bloviation gets you nowhere.

In fact, I insist you put your money where your mouth is and run for office, Rush, if indeed you have all the answers. Al Franken did and won, thus proving the validity of his convictions.

That's where Rush and his fellow right wing compost salesmen all draw the line, because they know they haven't got a chance of winning. Worse than that, the utter crushing defeats they'd be dealt would only serve to underscore how unpopular and in the minority their points of view really are.
