The funny thing is, there is nothing Rush can say that is too ridiculous for his followers to dismiss. They eat it up. The more ludicrous, the better.

I think it is indicative of the "secret" to his success; his small-minded listeners think he's revealing some "greater truth", when all he's doing is validating their pre-existing bigotry.

That's because he knows most of the people who love his show don't watch any of the president's addresses (or at least not the entire thing). This way he can insert whatever falsehood he wants with any number of cropped audio bites he pleases. This is where they turn to get their Obama news. People like Rush Limbaugh and other far right wing outlets. It's the power of suggestion. If he tells people Obama wants to punish them in some way for not agreeing with him, then he plays an edited clip of Obama saying he wants to punish those who violently oppose civility and peace, they will believe Obama wants to punish fellow Americans who disagree with him on policy. When the clip was referring to military action as it applies to foreign policy in the Middle East.

It wouldn't matter if they did listen to the whole thing... they'll believe what Rush tells them instead of what they heard with their own ears.

It's a favorite little trick of Rush's, and I think he does it to demonstrate just how much he can lie to his audience and get away with it. He will often play an audio clip, then lie through his teeth about what the audience just heard... and I have yet to hear a caller challenge him for it.

The caller has to get through first. Not a part of the program.Limbaugh and others shows use drug addition as a model for their show. They are designed to make dumb people think they are smart. To make a dumb person feel smart, you must lie to them.

Well Rush has basicly told his "dittoheads" to let him think for them because they are incapable of thinking for themselves.

Every time this porcine windbag lets loose, I am ever more grateful he's helped destroy the GOP.

Funny. Isn't that just what your pal Ann Coulter said about the guy who killed Dr Tiller?

Has Limpballs ever spoken to/interviewed the President face-to-face?

I don't think so, at least I haven't heard of one time he has -- which is why I'm continually AMAZED at Limpy's ability to know what the President is thinking . . .

"Has Limpballs ever spoken to/interviewed the President face-to face?"

Limbaugh doesn't have the guts. First of all, Obama would eat him for lunch.Secondly, All of Limbaugh's tricks of the trade, ranting, shouting over people, cutting people off, would just highlight what a low life, self invested bottomfeeder that Limbaugh is.

Obama would come across as well informed,in control of himself, and able to truly debate issues. Limabaugh would come across - as what he is - the ringleader of a circus.

When the President goes around the world apologizing for the "past injustuses" of America like he did in Europe last year, what did he mean then?
