I thought it was Jihad. These right-wingers have really tied themselves into pretzels with their comparisons of liberal policy initiatives with evil, repressive ideologies.

Not really since those repressive ideologies are exaclty what drives so much of the Liberal-Dem agenda.

Krauthammer is actually right. He just doesn't have a clue what Socialism is: What is socialism? Really?

Krauthammer, the patriot, would rather allow the enemy to define capitalism and socialism.

So I've heard. I've heard that a lot of the goals of the environmentalists and socialists are compatible, similar to how the goals of the industrialists and capitalists are.

If he could figure out a way to use those nightly emissions to propel his wheelchair, he could help solve the Energy Crisis...... :-)

What Industry is really fearing is the implementation of accurate monitoring instrumentation at the point of source. They know if this is accomplished there will be no way they can question output rates of emissions. This information will be fed by data link to a national real time monitoring system and will be available for public scrutiny at any time - no more guessing. The public will know who exceeding allowable limits.

Why do people take this stuff seriously I mean they were the same people saying that Clinton's tax increses would stuff the economy up.

It's quite obvious that Environmentalism isn't Socialism. And theres no point in arguing with nitwits who say otherwise.

I am amazed at how much has become the new socialism, communism and nazism this year. Seems like everything not on the Republican platform, if you ask me.

Don't mention "scary" things when there's Kraut Dracula around. The federal government is downright sweet compared to him.

Firstly, if Krauthammer is going to take Klaus's theory, he could at least pronounce his name correctly. It's not "Vaklav", it's "Vatslav". Second, Krauthammer thinks Klaus has cred when talking about authoritarian regimes because he's Czech, that he's like Havel and has suffered for his commitment to freedom. Actually, Klaus did just fine under the communist government, he was NOT a dissident. He and Vaclav Havel are sworn enemies. He thinks Havel is essentially a liberal elitist, which is rich, because Klaus is the biggest elitist there is. Thirdly, and unrelatedly, but I have to add it because I hate Vaclav Klaus, his complaints about the EU being undemocratic are completely cynical political maneuvering and insincere, because in the 90s, he and a Slovak politician engineered the breakup of Czechoslovakia against the wishes of the vast majority of the population.
