I don't get conservative economics. So the unions are responsible for the high cost of manufacturing (which is then outsourced overseas) by trying to "collapse" wages?

That's what I was thinking. Not too long ago, these morons were complaining about how MUCH money union members were making, and it's why we couldn't keep manufacturing here, and now, all of a sudden, unions want to lower wages to 10k/year?

They can't even be consistent on one point for more than a day, or even, a sentence.

What, Shaggles? You don't believe that Obama and the SEIU have plotted to throw the country into socialism by manipulating international wages and the monetary system? Then, they would project movies of ghost pirates on the walls of the union hall to scare off all the members, and tear down the union hall and build a mosque.

And they would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for that meddling Blecch...

The sad part is there are people who believe this. Not because Beck said it.Saying you believe something because Beck excuses that person from owning the crazy things in their heart, caused by ignorance.Things that were in their heart before Beck came along. If they lose their money in a Beck scam that is alright with them too.Because Beck told them that the Obama market was going to take their money.Beck can cry for and with them for mutual confort.Because Beck bought gold too.I wonder how much gold has beck bought?Maybe a couple of coins.

Beck is so right, I mean it makes sense that as an American I am entitled to make more money than some Indian. I mean they live on the Ganges River, and that is gross. And really what right do they have to higher wages, I mean that would come at my expense, and that is gross too.

In my book, this photo pretty much proves that Beck is a phony. He posed for it, crying chemically induced tears, in essence mocking his own schtick. Now, if you were genuinely so concerned for your country that you regularly tear up on national TV, would you mock that emotion by mugging for the camera like this?

      I really don't think so.

I lived in a foreign country for ten years. Things cost less, and the average worker makes less, but sometimes, the percentage of their income versus the costs of essential goods and services is lower than ours, and sometimes, it is higher, if it is lower, they have more discretionary income, so they live better. Koreans have more phones than Americans, there are actually more phone lines in Korea than Koreans, and more phone lines per person than in the U.S., in fact, there is nearly a one to one ratio on cell phones in Korea. You could eat well, really well, in a Korean restaurant with a family of 4 for $50 or less.

Not to mention, hypothetically speaking, if wages were more equal, you'd see fewer corporations going over seas to capitalize on cheap labor.

You're right...we should lower wages to that of India, or China, maybe Pakistan. That way we can all be equal AND jobs would stay here.
We could make $1,500 a year, live in little flats stacked on top of eachother or huts or caves. We could have one community beat up white toyota truck that seldom runs,or bath in a filthy river, have no sewer system or running water. We could get rid of those nasty refridgerators and washers and dryers too. We would have no use for Television or fresh food, electricty, few schools with an even lower literacy rate, a weak pathetic military and we would all be happy because we are equal to the rest of the third world,Think you low our carbon foot print would be now they'll love us.
No wait!!! who's that eating steak, and living in a mansion, and cruising around in a Gulfstream....it's it's....AL GORE!!! still not green after he got what he wanted......Ahhhh progress!

That is one of the most intellectually dishonest rants I have ever heard. Does Beck not understand relative costs? Is he so far out of touch that he really doesn't understand it?

Does he not get why $27,000 in NYC is less than $27,000 in Omaha, NE?

Does he not understand that someone making $87,000/yr and living in NYC would be low to middle income but in NE would be above average?

No, because he has lots of money now, and he made a lot of money at a very young age with his radio work. He may have lost of lot of it because of his chemical habits, but he had money, it skews your view.

Those same unions that created a minimum wage all of a sudden want to lower wages for some reason?

During the great depression, the US had less poverty than india has now. Not the best comparison.

When are american unions fighting for better wages for india's workers?

I know its hard to believe but No one cares what YOU want Beck!

SEIU has a membership of 1.8 MILLION workers not 1 of whom lives in India.

Aside from his wacko theories, nonsensical rants about the economy whats worse is that this guy seems to absorb any form of criticism and convert it into a compliment. Please say its all a bad dream.

The Beckster is now starting to troll. Each day he puts on a different bait and sees how many fish he can catch, hoping to find the one bait that will land the Grand Daddy of all Fish.

His smear campaign and delay tactics are not producing the results he had hoped for. He has told so many lies now that he cannot remember what he lied about previously, and it is starting to catch up with him.

I am struck by the in congruency of this Beck bashing. I came to this site because I thought I might find some interesting points of view and maybe engage in debate weather we agree or not. This whole site is nothing but “Beck the baby, Limbaughs fat, O’lamey Bill….Blah Blah Blah.
This site is supposed to be “smart people” and enlightened progressives with opinions? It sounds like some 10 year old figured out the password to his Dad’s computer and started commenting with 50 different account names. I don't believe everything Beck says, but some of his points and research appear to have legs. I don’t believe anything I hear from anyone until I do the research myself, but often people like Beck get me pointed in the right direction. If it walks like a duck...it's a duck.
People want to marginalize anything he say's as a right wing rant or nut job conspiracy, I disagree.
Some of his stuff might be stretching it to the extreme, but show me one commentator that doesn't. Oberman, Mahr, Limbaugh..et al they all sensationalize what they say to some degree...that's their gig…entertainment and commentary.

So nothing Beck say's is true, all lies and made up sensationalism, but Al Gore...now everything he says is true, because??? Where is his science degree? I'll wager Gore's made more millions on his bogus religion than Beck has, even though Beck has more followers. So, name your guru and someone will throw their freedom and personal sovereignty to the winds of history just to fit in with the group think mentality. After all, it is much more comfortable to be part of a herd...it's safe...evolution has taught us to seek safety in numbers. Anyone who does not think like us, we cannot listen for a valid point here and there...we must kill it, even though they may be right.

Is no one fairly alarmed that union bosses have the direct ear of our president? SEIU has 2 millions members...and that small number should direct the health and financial policies for the other 298 million? I did not even know about it until I read about it here, then I looked into it and Beck has it right, like it or not. I don't care which party is in power...that is scary to me, and it should be to you! Has anyone actually sought out and read some of the comments and beliefs of the people who now have the ear of the most powerful man in the world? Do you think it's only a party agenda? I think it is more ideological, and that's not healthy for our way of life folks. Regardless of what some may think of having a “progressive” country, all I can say is be careful what you wish for….you might get it. To epkklk851...I disagree with you, I would argue that if you ask an actual Korean where they would rather live, USA or Korea, they would not say Korea 75% of the time. I've lived in 6 different countries and visited every continent, and I can tell you with all of her flaws, I'll take America any day. That's why everyone’s trying to get in, and no one's trying to get out.
I would say if you are honest with yourself, you can disagree, and prove the other wrong with facts, not insults. When you just sit in your Dad’s basement and flame people and call them names, your intellectual argument speaks a thousand words for everyone to see.
