I went to your little rally last September. I saw lots of signs and t-shirts that I didn't like. I saw lots of posters with the President in Joker's make-up. I saw lots of people saying that taxes were slavery. I saw lots of people that are worried about international conspiracies, and I did see Swastikas and hammers and sickles. I also saw lots of Gadsden flags, Join or Die flags and other symbols from the American Revolution. The crowd was cheered by the playing of Thomas Paine impersonator videos that can be found on YouTube. The guy in the video called his audience cowards for not standing up for their rights, it was really seditious. I also saw the Nyberg Battle Flag for the first time. I checked out the Sipsey Street Irregulars. This group of angry, nasty "patriots" should scare you as much as it does me. People are free to speak and use symbols, and they should take into account the message those symbols are sending. I am not a Nazi or a Communist, but I am a liberal and I favor unions and national health care, I do not think this makes me un-American, and I resent anyone who tries to paint me so.

      Beck:
The tea partiers are merely saying "We're moving toward totalitarian tendencies!".

You know, it's like how that dead parrot was just "resting" and "pining for the fjords".

The presence of concentration camp imagery on some of the placards suggests that the teabaggers have no idea what they're talking about. The presence of Hitler and Stalin on the placards doesn't mean that the teabaggers understand what Fascism or Communism is all about, which is necessary in order to convince anyone that we're headed in either direction. It just means that they understand that Hitler and Stalin are scary and evil and that they think that everyone will understand what they're saying through the use of that imagery.

When I see people using those images, I see the lowest common denominator getting lower. Beck's message is that that's justice.

Nothing is indefensible to these people as long as it dehumanizes their political opponents.

To them, a big tent, means not distancing themselves from the racists and distorters of history. They gladly stand with dangerous people to give themselves the appearance of populism.

If you take away the gun nuts, conspiracy theorists, racists and imbeciles, you're left with a bunch of senior citizens who don't seems to get the connection between the federal government and their Social Security checks.

Beck and his followers know nothing about The Boston Tea Party, Thomas Paine, the founding fathers, communism, socialism or fascism.

America's ignorance is on display and the sad thing is these people are too ignorant to understand exactly what they're demonstrating against.

Glenn Beck has just proven once and for all what a parasite he really is. If those same signs had been in display during Dubya's administration, Beck would be calling for the protesters to be thrown out of the country.

Yes, but a willingness to write off such hysteria and smears as freedom of expression in a free country is what makes liberals wimps and other less savory words according to Anthrax Coulter. But, if we were to use the same sauce for this goose, we would be called even worse that Nazis and Fascists, and they would be somewhat correct, too. I find this kind of speech dispicable, but it is speech and they are entitled to be just as disgusting as they want to be. I was also told to leave the rally (not officially) when I asked a couple to show me in the Constitution where it says we are a Christian nation. Beck's "Arguing with Idiots" ignores Article VI of the Constitution which prohibits religious tests for offices and public trusts.

No, don't get me wrong: I strongly believe in freedom of speech.

          Just not hypocrisy.

Does anyone notice that since those couple weeks where he was savagely (if accurately) mocked by, like, three different shows (Daily Show, SNL and South Park), Beck has moved CLOSER to their parody of him? I mean, I'm assuming it's coincidental, since his craziness is on a constant upward trajectory anyway, but [puts on fake "intellekshul" glasses] I'm just asking questions, people. Why am I the only one?
Okay, nevermind, I'ma leave the impression to Jon Stewart.

this idiot thinks hes absolutely hilarious... ive never heard him say a funny thing, ever... hes a moron. and he actually goes around the country doing stand-up comedy... god, that must be hard to stomach.

and if the teabaggers [with their signs] mean that we are going into socialism and totalitarianism, then why would they be holding up signs with hitler, stalin or lenin? why cant they all be holding up signs that say socialism and totalitarianism? where is the correlation? although, a good chunk of the signs say socialism and other words on them, a lot of them have those dictators names and pictures, as well.
