      The right wing retort?

Levin didn't call President Obama Hitler. Just called his policies Hitler-esque. What's the big deal?

That's right. And remember. They're not calling anyone Nazis. They're just saying that the administration is "acting" like Nazis. That's totally different, right?

Levin, you pansy. Beck already made comparisons to Satan! You're lagging behind. Hitler is SO three weeks ago.

Anybody see The Daily Show teabagger bit last night, with Laura Ingraham's "first they came for the rich..." assault on that Holocaust poem ? Just when I think the wingnuts can't shock me with their idiocy, one of them hits a new low.

Yes, the Niemoller poem that the political right in this country (especially Beck) always intentionally misquote. The first two groups that the Nazis come for in the poem (at least according to Niemoller's preferred version) are the communists and the trade unionists, both groups whom the Becks, Levins and Ingrahams of this world hate.

Of course, Ingraham's first targets were the rich, land owners and gun owners. you know, those powerless and persecuted victims.

That's what rightwing talkers are there for: To comfort the comfortable and to afflict the afflicted.

The reference to that poem is, of course, meaningless unless you list and promote the need to protect those you disagree with and even hate...The radical right speakers just don't get it, as usual.

Wasn't this base closing garbage debunked yesterday by the WH, Nelson's office, and even the guy who originally wrote it? Even Beck had to cut the guy off before he continued to admit that he was wrong about part of the story.

I guess it takes the right a few days before they admit that they were wrong about something.

People forget that Hitler came on the scene as a peace lovin guy that was just trying to fix the economy. He kept all that nasty stuff under wraps for about 3 or 4 years. He stood for the "common man", and hated industrialists and the old aristocracy left over from the kaiser. Kaiser is the german word for "Czar", which has suddenly become the "in" word of 09. That word's origins were Caesar.

So you're saying that Hitler hated the czars, and the right wing media today hates the "czars"? OK, but I don't think that's enough to say that the GOP or Fox news is the new Nazi party. There are similarities, sure, but I don't think the comparison is completely fair.

That's sort of sad that you think anybody but you would need to look up that bit of common knowledge. Are you aware that the abbreviation "Nazi" was, according to some, first used by German socialists to distance the right wing fascism of Hitler from socialism ?

        The more you know...

In the enitre universe of American healthcare, the only policy that falls short of laughable when called "Hitleresque" is the right of isurance companies to drop people that get too sick.

If that ain't some kind of economic eugenics program, then I don't know what is.

      ---------------------------------------------------------------
And yet I can know next to nothing about it and still know a LOT more than Levin does!
