Fortunately for humanity, Paddy, nobody (with any human sense or decency, at least) pays any attention to you either, you fraudulent piece of false-prophet garbage...
I know I will get responses off this, but Patty are really sure Jesus was born on December 25th? Is there eveidence? Why pitty other practices by other races, and call them frauds in comparrison to Christmas, which has so many smoke and mirrors in the name itself.
By the way Kwanzaa is celebrated, just like Haunakkah, and any other holiday people want to celebrate. Your precious Christmas is not going nowhere nor do people want it to go anywhere. Some people Patty got better since to not get wrapped up in these wars on holidays, but rather enjoy their time with family and being loved. SMH!
The best estimates are that Jesus was probably born in the Spring (if the information given in the Bible is to be believed).
And yes, a whole lot of us know that Christ was probably not born on December 25. If we didn't know that already, we've sure been reminded pretty much every day for the last month by posters who think that they've got some kind of special, cool bit of historical information about pagan holidays to share. Like most Christians I know, we don't give a damn that December 25 is not Jesus' actual birthday, any more than we care that the Declaration of Independence was signed over many days, not just July 4th.
Stick to the point, please- Pat Robertson is a bigoted jerk. He might as well have said that Ramadan is no big deal, because he's been ignoring it for years. Pat Robertson has nothing to do with Christianity. His religion is What's Good for Pat Robertson, and his Deity is Money, period.
Yes, we know Jesus was not born in December, and we readily accept Adam and Eve, Noah, etc as myth and metaphor. While many attack our faith by claiming historical falshood in the Bible, or call us sinners by not accepting all of the Bible as literal truth, we can see deeper meanings in the Biblical writers choice of story and myth. This time of year was chosen for Christmas for the same reason that the pagans chose it. It was to clebrate new life and new beginnings. The end of darkness and growing light! Knowing that deeper meaning for the holiday and the shared bond with even pagan religions, gives Christmas far more meaning.
jjamele,
I was making my point that the Christmas holiday does not need to overhyped like that is the only holiday being celebrated this month. Plus Patty boy was trying to clarify the day as Jesus' b-day and I was making a point do people know. I knew I would get a response that someone would disagree with what I said, but I am intitled to my point and am keeping it.
By no way shape or form did I disrespect christianity.
Well, Patty -- its obvious you haven't visited the American Museum of Natural History lately . . .
If nothing else then the pagan celebration of the winter solstice comes to mind. You know, yule logs, the christmas tree, etc.
how sad he represents Christianity so poorly..but then he always has..

Well we know she would never show the Christian love to offer a Happy Ramadan to a Muslim, even if she knew one.
And tell me why Channakuh, Christmas, and Kwanzaa have to compete against each other as if this was an episode of Highlander?
I don't really have anything against it, but it's not wrong to say factually what it is.
