Ah, racial profiling. What a tiny and unlit mind you have, Ms. Coulter. Why not just put up a poster at every airport, bus depot, building and sea port? You know, one where you specify the race and clothing of the people you will be searching, so that the terrorists know they need to recruit to circumvent your bigoted and ignorant policy. That's the antithesis of keeping us safe, and yet it is also the only thing you will accept as proof that Obama is doing anything to keep us safe. I think it is you who wishes us to be attacked, Ms. Coulter. I think it is you who hates America. Your lies on FOX Propaganda certainly support my position, while you have no evidence whatsoever to back yours.

pres Obama was "specially situated " by 65 million americans. I also hgave issues with his work, specially since the recent loss of 8 intelligence assets. What the heck are we, as americans , actually doing in Afghanistan ? What is Hamid Karzai actually doing forUS interests that merits his continued protection and existence ? Are the Bush holdovers actually preventing our president from doing the right thing ?

Right? The preliminary reports about how the failures of the undiebomber were due to mishandling of information between departments has elecited a response from departments involved that the root cause is seperating the chaffe from the noise. Reichswine want to overload the process by racially profiling an extra billion folks? Man, we're gonna need a bigger government...

What the UndieBomber incident proves to me, snoopy, is that the vaunted and necessary Department of Homeland Security is a gigantic fiasco, as I have always said it was. Just more bureaucratic hurdles for intel to cross before it can be acted upon. Just more roadblocks to actually getting anything done.

And all brought to us by Bush/Cheney, the ninnies. Bigger government indeed!

Can you imagine what the response would be if someone were to suggest moving everyone to under one department to eliminate the hurdles? I can see it now:

"Fascism! Obama's creating a fascist department that will round up americans! Proof! Proof!"

Because we know that the only answer they'll accept is to privitize it under several different corporations that will outsource the work overseas to maximize profits while paying off politicians to de-regulate them so they can charge us outrageous fees for their "services"...

Privatizing is a scary idea, snoopy. Health coverage providers, using excuses like 'pre-existing conditions', currently cause the death of around 45,000 Americans a year. That'd be 15 9-11s every year since the towers came down. Think what they could accomplish with national security under their purview! Heck, think of the MONEY they could make! I'm surprised it hasn't been suggested yet. Maybe the Faux Cons are just waiting for Blackwater (She) to be cleared?

Coulter is a menace to rational thought. She destroys any pretense of "fair and balanced" but worse than that, she is just wrong on her facts. That she has to lie about stuff shows just how bankrupt she is on the issues. Poor thing is to be pitied since she obviously lacks any moral rudder. Her soul seems to be bereft of good impulses and righteous behavior.

Yes as a moderate Republican I cringe every time this woman opens her mouth. Actually, poor thing, she is the racist and she has no concept of the facts. She seems totally out of the loop when it comes to safety situations and her racism is the thing that will cause MORE problems. Her madras comment is extremely out of the blue and no reality to it. I have a grandchild who just says, "Granny, why does that old woman lie all the time". They had just studied about this and President Obama and she knew the facts. Strange how a grown woman can lie with a truly straight face. Mu mother used to observe that if we lied with such flair, she was bound to get the switch out because she could not abide liars. Poor woman probably lacked that sort of clear cut moral rudder.

Has anyone else noticed that many times in recent TV appearances, Ann Coulter has had on huge false eyelashes?

Wanda Sykes tonight did a parody of Coulter with "fake" fake eyelashes made from curling construction paper around a pencil.

And Sykes made the point that Coulter was lying every time she blinks, and man, oh man, does she blink a lot! It was a funny routine.

I'm still kind of confused as to why they respond to an African guy trying to blow up an airplane with "OMG U GUYZ LETS PROFILE MOOZLUMS!!!!" Are they just going to assume everyone from (overwhelmingly Christian) Nigeria is a Muslim? Or are they calling for Arabs to be profiled, and covertly acknowledging that black people are ALREADY unfairly profiled? I lean towards the former, since it's more in line with the unbelievable stupidity that is their stock-in-trade.

Coulter claims Obama is "specially situated" to institute racial profiling due to fictitious madrassa attendance

The thing these kooks seem to can not get out of their heads is that in the United States you can practice any religion you want and change that religion without being ridiculed. If you did that in any other country around the world you would get punished! Obama's mother understood the education you would get by studying different religions thus the reason why she had Obama as a child learn different religions.

Quote: In her mind, a working knowledge of the world's great religions was a necessary part of any well-rounded education. In our household the Bible, the Koran, and Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African Mythology.

So it should not matter what he practiced or learned. To practice a certain religion is not a requirement to be president or address political issues as president.

Not quite true. If you change from muslim to christian, or jewish to christian, or catholic to christian, or any other religion to christian, you will be praised as "being enlightened" by the right. Go in the other direction and you will be cast out as a heathen by them. It's only the rest of us who don't really care (unless the target is reichswiners who need a taste of their own medicine!)

Also keep in mind that most 'converts' to one religion to another tend to be more 'radical' about their new dogma than those who are born into a religion. I was raised Catholic, and now would be considered 'a-theist' (that is, any 'god' is irrelevant because it has no effect on my life). Of course, some 'atheists' are as rabid as the hard-core Xians, and I even recall one poster on another blog using the term 'anti-theist' to describe themselves.
I also recall several people who became Catholic who would make Torquemada look like a 'liberal'.

You don't "convert" from belief to non-belief. I concede there are militant atheists who aggressively denounce all theism but this is not the same thing as dogma. This false equivalence is used to portray atheism as being as dogmatic as religion when it in fact is not - don't fall into that trap.

How are things getting "easier and easier" for Muslim extremists to blow up planes? There are what, a million names on the watch list? If that statement were true, there won't be any planes come 2011. At all. Anywhere.

Radical racist sentiment is not the same thing as security. And yes, magazines should be considered a luxury item when lives are at stake!

Further, the body scans aren't nude; I rather strongly doubt they'll show fully digitized nipples and genitals. They're body scans, and they're not even saved anywhere. You can't win with these people. Either Obama's helping the terrorists, or he's inconveniencing Americans.

We should all remember that this "attack" was not a complete failure. The vigilance of the other passengers (which is what stopped the shoe bomber plot, also) saved this flight. In the end we cannot make the system 100% fool proof. The Republicans have always wanted us to believe that all we had to do was give up enough of our rights and freedoms and we would be "safe" from terrorism.

Does this incident mean that airlines are 99.9999% secure? or 99.99999%? or 99.999999%? For the thousands of flights that occur to, from and within this country every week the chances of a terrorist breaking through the system are very slim. And this incident will serve to identify more problems within the system and hopefully strengthen it. If there are ways to improve the system that can be achieved by a thorough review, then it needs to be done.

We never seem to address the how diminishing returns are affecting our ever increasing vigilance to terrorism. Someone needs to come forward and tell the people that there will always be some risk to flying and that our main goal should be to mitigate the damage.

Finally, I think it is necessary to address Ms Coulter directly. It is quite obvious in her opinion that we can never give up enough rights and freedoms when it is required by a Republican administration. But even small changes to the our economy by a Democrat are equated with Totalitarianism. I think she needs to crawl back into the drunken hole she crawled out of this morning.

You know this person is so blantly a piece of crap male that it shows more and more as they get older. How these republicans are given a platform on MSM to spew the lies and fabrications they do is really beyond. It is a shame that a lot of people would lose sports stations. If I had it to do, I'd just drop Fox from my cable service all the way.

I hope Rupert raises the price of his news so high no body can afford it. You know the republicans are going to pay those prices and he will soon go out of business.

NY Daily News it was. Anyone here ever read this rag? Righton once remarked about MMFA's 'photo choosers' and the hilarious shots of the idiots that would be posted. Well, the Daily has them in spades. Their shot of Obama makes him look like some 300 year old troll who has constipation. More off topic, but there was a 'best of the decade' section in the same issue (yesterday) and that photo of federal agents storming in to apprehend Elias Gonzalez was in it. That photo, as good as it is from an emotional aspect, unfortunately kind of epitomizes the U.S's way of handling everything - guns a'blazing without regard to, well, just about everything.

I happen to have relatives served by one of those very Fox stations you're referring to. It's a local Fox broadcast channel. They say that it happens on a fairly regular basis, if the local state college is going to a bowl game, carried on Fox. Local satellite TV providers have been making hay off of this threat by Murdoch, so let's hope the threat backfires, he can't recoup the advertising that Beck lost him, and he has to find some other way, like hosting TeaBagging events, to get that capital back.
