Of course a multi-millionare is not going to see anything wrong with the health care system.

The real irony with the drugster and his trip to hospital in Hawaii is, that he was attended to by union paramedics, transported by government ambulance, had union nurses in hospital, and to top it off, in a state run universal health care system.

Wonder why he didn't insist on a "private sector" solution to his health problem?

Actually, the real irony is the state of Hawaii has a health care system in place now that is the closest to the current bill now in the Congress then anywhere else in America.

      Limburger:

"I don't see anything wrong with the health-care system. I wasn't treated any different from anyone else. I ate the same hospital food as the other patients - grilled salmon, caviar and Chardonnay. I got the same room - the first-class penthouse on the top floor. And I got the same attention as anyone else - the team of specialists visiting my penthouse every hour to fluff my pillows and leave me a mint.

I don't see why people think health care is an issue!"

Rush went to Hawaii to get frisked by Jack Lord and to give Dan'l a "reach-around" in an airport men's room. <snicker>

I guess having a hotel close off a whole section so you can be taken out with privacy is not special treatment.

And I'm curious: did he question if any of the health care professionals were liberals or voted for Obama before he let them work on him? 'cause according to Limbaugh's show, thems peoples is nutz!

Are you sure Rush wasn't being quarantined? From what I can gather from listening to his show, I would certainly not want to catch whatever he has!

He just doesn't get it. It's not our health care professionals - most are wonderful, dedicated professionals. It's the fact that so many Americans cannot access these same health care professionals! He is an idiot who is totally out of touch with reality.

There's a huge difference between going to the emergency room for chest pains that turn out to be benign and someone finding out he or she has a life-threatening or chronic illness that may require months and years of expensive treatments.

Do people like Limbaugh realize how stupid they sound? (I know, dumb question).

Well put. For $50 million/year, you can even drop $1 million, a mere 2% of your entire annual income, and don't feel a pinch to your financial bottom line. These people have the best care the money can buy and entirely detached from the realities of the normal people. There are many aspects of the health care that are working superbly and we can still improve upon them. On the other hand, it would be naive to dismiss all the things that are WRONG with the system and simply brush it off as if they are the residue, or collateral damages, of the system. I still don't understand why he had to come out to be an attention seeker? Was it solely because to sophomorically promulgate to the world that I'm fine and that's due to the "flawless" health care insurance system? Are Rush bots that gullible?

Limbaugh doesn't care how stupid he sounds to most rational people, all he needs is a million or so listeners who are stupid enough to think he sounds smart.

The sad part is hearing callers to his show, or Hannity's, who make 1% of the income their heroes do, but will let these overpaid elitist buffoons explain to them the state of health care for the average American.

Interesting thing about Hannity's fans (at least, from what I've heard of his show on the topic of health care), a surprising number of them have very personal ( fictional) stories about abuse of our system by illegal immigrants and welfare loafers, and they seem to believe it's entirely because of these freeloaders that they don't have great health care. Rush and Sean have done a good job of distracting their zombies.

I agree with your point, but to be precise, %1 is a bit generous. Limbaugh's most recent contract was for $400 million over 8 years, or $50 million annually -- and 1% of fifty million is five hundred thousand dollars. As Wikipedia points out, "In 2007, the median annual household income rose 1.3% to $50,233.00 according to the Census Bureau." Note that this is household income, not individual salaries.

While salaries for Limbaugh's audience can't be assumed to be identical to the U.S. population at large, for the sake of argument let's use the numbers from the Census Bureau for all Americans. In this case, the average Limbaugh listener in the U.S. doesn't make %1 of his income or even 0.1% of his income. Instead, the average listener's household makes about 0.1% of what Limbaugh makes in a year.

Thanks, Vy, I didn't really remember what these clowns get paid. You're right.it's more like 0.1%. Another way to look at it is; a good sized carpool going to a teabagger rally , in a large van or short bus, might collectively make about 1% of Rush's salary.

While we're at it, here's another way to put it:

Limbaugh earns $5,707 every hour (50 million / [365 * 24]). With a $50,233 household income, the average American household pulls in $4,186.08 per month. So the average Limbaugh listener will work for about 6 weeks in order to make what Limbaugh gets in one hour. One hour. Even when he's sleeping.

Who, exactly, on the "left blogosphere" was "rooting" for Rush to have a heart attack?

      Howie, of course, didn't say.

Personally, I wished Rush the same gracious sentiments that his followers offered towards Sen. Kennedy during his illness.

Also, it was reported that Rush told the initial EMS personnel that he is taking a drug for back pain......I thought everyone already knew that.

There were a couple of posters here on this thread who sure didn't wish him well, but commenters on a blog are different than blog owners, and I don't think any of them actually was rooting for him to have had a heart attack.

Some people say Limbaugh faked his emergency simply to embarass Obama in his homestate during his vacation. Some people say his willfully ignorant act took up much needed resources to score political points and that people who actually needed health care got worse and even died because of this political stunt. Where's the outrage?!?!?

P.S. Anti-inflammatory medicine? Some people say limbaugh caught an std during one of his trips to the islands...
