Limbaugh was in the hospital in the state that already had the most similar health care system to what is being proposed now. I had a huge laugh at Limbaugh's statement since I had heart surgery in Hawaii years ago when they DID already have mandatory insurance either paid by the employer or by the state. I was in the hospital 31 days and the bill I paid was for $31.00. As I read the Insurance plan in the house and Senate, I see that the plan will provide the same thing for our citizens. Of course, in Hawaii, people do not have to dig up the premiums themselves but alas, they are ALL insured and medical problems are treated in a timely manner when the cost of care is hugely less than when someone without insurance goes to an ER long after the disease process has gotten highly developed. So thanks Rush for giving your plug to Obama care. At last you said something truthful and constructive, but if you try to wiggle out of your direct complimentary statemnt, we can only conclude you have no honesty whatsoever,

So what is the big deal, the dweebs at MMFA also covered his comments.

I guess this is just another example of the cutting edge journalism of MMFA. In other words, pure nonsense.

That's garbage, the dweebs played a 30 second clip , nothing more. On the other hand Greta played about 2 1/2 minutes which did display more context. Why not show the truths the dweebs displayed? Surely a brilliant guy like you can do that.

You are dead on right about snoopy, he may be the most bigoted individual here at MMFA. And he is quite respected by the other "closet bigots". It says alot about the vermin (not all, but many) that populate this site that he consistently gets many thumbs up for his comments.

Your constructive criticism will be lost on him and the rest of the bigots.

What are the "quotes for"? Do you mean closet bigots is a euphemism for something else? Are you thinking of trademarking the phrase? Do you just not "know when" to use quotes? It's a mystery.

As for snoop, he talks race way too much for my taste, but really tired in sf calling him on it is roughly equivalent to Britney Spears calling out Paris Hilton for being trashy.

And the dims pull drunks of the street to garner their votes. They'll vote for anybody for a buck.

And now the Obamanation is showing how he will get health care passed, buying votes from undecided Senators . I seem to remember the Obamanation vowing that the health care debates would be televised on C Span, what happened to that promise? He made it repeatedly. I guess Pres Pelosi overruled him. At least now we know who is really running the show.

Um, yeah, Rush... The Healthcare that was passed by the House (aka Obamacare), was supposed to have the public option, be progressive like it is in Hawaii and didn't have the corporate insurance companies getting in the way and denying care for anybody. You claim as if the insurance companies would be all up in our business under the House bill. Maybe they gave you the wrong medication there, buddy. I would go back and get a check up and prepare for a possible lobotomy.

"between me and my check book" what an arrogant SOB! If he can write a check for an emergency room visit, the ambulance ride, and tests for a suspected heart attack then he's certainly not representative of the millions of other Americans who are uninsured. Life is good for this guy.

It's amazing to me just how many people are brainwashed by this man and fall for his point of view. His arrogance is astounding, but his transparency even more so. Limbaugh has upwards of a $400 MILLION contract with clearchannel, not to mention whatever else he makes on the side. OF COURSE the procedure was between him and his checkbook - who wouldn't love to be able to simply write a check for hospital care and bypass the insurance companies? If I made that kind of money I wouldn't have health insurance either - biggest scam in the country, with the EIB network running a close second. Personally I think it was a publicity stunt - very premeditated to draw attention to RUSH in Hawaii while the President was there too. Interesting also is the fact that, in spite of the fact he says our health care system doesn't need changing, they couldn't find out why he 'suffered' from chest pains.

Cost was 35% less than if you had insurance? Baloney...!

Doctors and hospitals who agree to accept insurance agree to lower rates, not higher. Their incentive is that that if they accept insurance they will get more patients.

I was going to say the same thing. The man just openly admitted to his audience that he does not carry insurance, is wealthy enough to cover his own healthcare costs without it, makes extremely bogus clams about payment, including not disclosing what he spent, and wants to preach to his 15 million listeners about his experience with the healthcare system and how they have nothing to worry about?

I love his comment that there was nothing between his doctor and his "checkbook." That was a spit in the face to a large majority of his listeners.

I am interested in where Rush came up with the 35% figure. But, since he won't disclose what he actually paid for a few days stayin a Hawaii hospital, we have to rely on his history of integrity and responsible journalism........ ooooooops!

What he is referring to is the fact that cash payers get a discount for prompt payment, just like the insurers do. It is fact.

The biggest rip off in our system is the fact that if you can afford to pay either by insurance or by cash, you get a discount. The insurers demand it and the hospitals offer it for quick payment to cash payers. It is the people who can least afford to pay that get stuck with the highest bills. Seems backwards to me. And it shows just how much the hospitals pad the bill, they then get to shelter more income by writing off unpaid bills.

But having the government run it, is not the answer. The system will be bankrupt just like everything else the gov't touches.

IRONY: "Cost was 35% less than if you had insurance? Baloney...!"

Not that any of you lefties would ever believe anyone other than a fellow leftist, but just in case, I have personally been able to negotiate a lesser price for health care when paying cash. If you had a lick of logic you would be able to understand that those who pay cash provide many benefits over those that pay with insurance. Do I need to explain these to you or can I assume you can figure it out on your own?

Nevermind. I already know the answer. People who pay with insurance require the health care staff and doctors to process paperwork with all the nuances required to get paid. Even then if the Dr gives the wrong "code" or something it delays payment for months. Time is money (let me know if you don't get this!). People who pay cash eliminate all the BS.

        Now, apologize to Rush!

Isn't it interesting how much mileage the Troglodytes are getting out of Rush's little "emergency"? How odd that the official mouthpiece of the Republican Party would be admitted to the hospital with mysterious chest pains just as a Healthcare Reform bill is in final consideration. Even more curious that he would hold a press conference upon his release, declaring that America's Healthcare system is perfect, and needs no reform.

I have no problem with people (like Rush Limbaugh) who can offer proof of their ability to pay for health care without buying health insurance being allowed to not take coverage. But they should not advocate policies where people who need to be insured cannnot get coverage because of the problems with the current system. Rush Limbaugh and the right are condemming untold numbers of people to financial ruin for no reason except they do not like the current President or Congressional Leadership.
