Mika Brzezinski asked "What about 9/11"
Giuliani said "We didn't know about attacks on the HomeLand before 9/11"
Now the Extreme Right want to pretend the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center Towers never happened.
And who cares about the Oklahoma City bombing.
I don't know how much more Mis-information i can take.
Mr. News
A) Claim that Bush's Presidency started on 9/12/01, and
B) Claim that all the domestic terror attacks that occurred in the United States between 9/12/01 and 1/20/09 were not terrorist attacks at all. It's all a matter of definition.
Now, would the Anthrax mail attacks, the beltway sniper attacks, etc. etc. have been called "domestic terror attacks" under President Gore? Is there any doubt?
I live in the DC suburbs- several beltway sniper attacks took place very close to where I live and work. My school was on lockdown two days during the attacks, as three shootings took place within a couple of miles of the campus. Where these shootings acts of terrorism? Strangely enough, we had no question that they were, at the time. But now "America's Mayor" tells me they weren't, so.....
C) claim that every act of violence in the US after 1/20/09 is an act of terrorism. If Giuliani thinks that we've had "one" terrorist attack under Obama, which one is he dismissing- the Christmas failed-bomber or the Ft Hood shooter?
So, for those of you keeping score- Shoe Bomber, Anthrax mailings, beltway sniper= not terrorist attacks. Either Ft Hood shooter or Christmas bomber (but not both)= terrorist attacks.
I'm just wondering if Rudy has some sort of dementia or something. I mean, just last year, he couldn't complete a single sentence without mentioning the largest attack on American soil in history which was perpetrated not only on HIS watch in HIS city, but also on GWB's watch. I think he needs to see the doc and get a prescription for an anti-dementia med like Aricept of something. 'Course, dementia usually robs a person of short-term memory . . . D'ya think this could just be lying??????
Thie lie is one of the latest. Obviously the memo said "GWB had no domestic terror after 9/11. Pass it on and on and on."
In all seriousness, the brazen nature of these attempts to rewrite history is appalling. It speaks volumes about the GOP's respect for their base's intelligence. I guess if your party platform is based on playing down to the functionally illiterate, you can make up whatever history you want.
And by the way... President Obama didn't say "War or Terror" which is nonsense... he said a "War against Al Qaeda", which is at least an organization that is somewhat tangible. We can't win a war against Terrorist... terrorism is a tactic not an enemy. At least al Qaeda is an enemy.
We are at war. We are at war against al Qaeda, a far-reaching network of violence and hatred that attacked us on 9/11, that killed nearly 3,000 innocent people, and that is plotting to strike us again. And we will do whatever it takes to defeat them.
1.The phrase "war on terrorism" gained currency when it was used to describe the efforts by the British colonial government to end a spate of attacks by Zionist Jews in the British Mandate of Palestine in the late 1940s. The British proclaimed a "War on Terrorism" against Zionist groups such as Irgun and Lehi, and anyone perceived to be cooperating with them.

There is a very tight line to walk between them.
Bush and Cheney will haunt the G.O.P. for the next 50 years.
They should both be embarrassed (but they're certainly not).
Dana "too much cappaucino" Perino said the same thing back in November.
