Seriously. There's no prize for being the first poster on any thread.

If you've got something to say, please say it. Posting this same schtick over and over again adds nothing to the conversation, Mr. News.

The except to this is a former President. It used to be correct to call them by the highest office they held outside of the Presidency (Clinton and Bush43 would be Gov. Clinton, Gov. Bush). There is only one Mr. President, and that is the guy currently in the Oval Office. Such niceties have fallen by the wayside, and most TV reporters refer to the former Presidents and "Mr. President".

You should tell that to the Republicans ... they thought Senator Boxer was getting uppity when she requested Brigadier General Michael Walsh to address her as Senator, rather than Ma'am. Republicans raise a big stink and said Senator Boxer was rude and disrespectful.

        What makes you think someone

        - who couldn't even run a town of 5,000 people [Wasilla, AK] by herself [she needed the help of a city manager]
        - and resigned midway thru her ONLY executive office experience, as governor of the nation's LEAST POPULOUS state

The point that conservatives make over and over is that government doesn't work so what better way to prove their point than running and electing incompotent candidates? Rick Perry, W., Virginia Fox, Joe Wilson, Bobby Jindal, ect. What do all of these guys have in common? You guessed it, they are all complete morons who should not be running a McDonald's no less a country. Par for the course. The GOP runs on the idea that government is broken so in that respect they are very successful.

it amazes me that there is not one conservative in america with a functional IQ... this notion is quite tired, actually... as soon as a conservative starts to generate a little juice, the only logical response from liberals and so called progressives is that they are dumb and so are their supporters...

Well, by and large I have found this to be true. Most conservatives I have come in contact with are hyper-religious, usually not highly educated and quite bigoted. I would love to be proven wrong but sadly I have not. I'm not picking on Palin because I think she is dumb but she has shown time and time again to be woefully ignorant about basic topics. I tend to hang around educated people, doctors, lawyers, pilots, meteorologists, college professors, ect. and most of us identify with people like Obama and Clinton i.e. lawyers and not "hockey moms". If I were to choose a person to run my company would I choose someone who graduated top of their class or someone who needed to go to 5 different schools and can't tell me what he or she reads? If the GOP/conservatives want to get away from the dimwit stereotypy maybe just maybe they should stop acting like dimwits. Just an opinion.

That "least populous" state has the population of Ft. Worth, Texas, spread over an area which is one-fifth the size of the lower 48. Many of the people in the outlying areas of Alaska have no idea who this woman is and they really don't care as long as they get their Annual Fund checks. She essentially was the mayor of three cities with the combined population of just over 300,000. The economy of Alaska has been tanking and it's one of the biggest welfare states in the country. For every dollar Alaskans pay in taxes, they receive $1.84 in federal money . . . yeah, you really want this crazy, incompetent, dishonest person to be president???? Do you love your country?

No, the world's worst nightmare would occur. It's really not funny. Do some research on the beliefs of this lunatic. I'm a conservative and Sarah Palin is the No. 1 reason I didn't vote for McCain.

I have a really honest question for you Von Zipper. In what way is Sarah Palin qualified to hold the highest office in the nation? Don't talk about Obama, Bush, Clinton or anyone else. It's a legitimate question.
Is it her vast knowledge of foreign policy, domestic policy, what? How will she tackle urban issues, given that she visited only homogenous parts of the country during the campaign (and during her book tour).

She "governed" in one of the most homogenous states in the union and didn't complete her term, but is now a millionaire -- much as Levi Johnston claimed was her true objective. Campaign staff (Republicans) have admitted she was not up for the challenge intelectually -- and that comes from her supporters. So why is she qualified? And no we don't fear her in the least. We think she is the best thing for the progressive movement -- a Dan Quayle for the 21st Century.

her campaign staff is so smart they picked an intellectual lightweight in order to cover their own ass in case they lost, eh?...

as for her qualifications to be president, the answer is quite simple... while everyone seems to have their own opinion as to who is qualified to serve as president, we have this thing called the constitution... and in it you'll find the only 2 documented and legal qualifications, something to this effect:

          1. she's a native born citizen of the united states.
          2. she has attained the minimum age of 35 years.

dis her resume all you want, but it's comparable to her predecessors, who shall remain nameless since you don't want to talk about them... but i will say that had she gotten a law degree, served as a community organizer, state senator and served 1/3 of a us senate term, which is apparently ok to bail out from as long as you run and win a presidential election, it would hardly enhance her stature in my eyes...

Palin is an interesting character. If she concerned herself with anything other than politics, world affairs or history, she’d have a better shot on-air. She doesn’t come across as unlikeable so much as ignorant and uninformed.

Of course at Fox, that’s a plus (I’m looking at you, Gretchen Oxford scholar Carlson).

But Palin is very thin-skinned. She’s not adroit at deflecting criticism, she’s petty, and she’s too often been caught telling stupid lies.

Unless she’s willing to listen to the advice she’s no doubt being given by her PR handlers about creating a credible brand image on television, and unless she steps up her willingness to research issues, she’s about to provide a goldmine of material for pundits ready to call her out.

      Case in point.

      And another.

      And yet another.

Right -- that's why she fired the Wasilla police chief {because he "stared" at her}, fired the head of the Alaska State Troopers {who was involved in a custody battle with her sister}, and got mad at David Letterman for cracking a joke about her daughter . . .

That's some thick skin, all right.

I find it just incredible that Fox News has the highest ratings, no actually I find it scary. How can so many people listen to propaganda and lies without recognizing they are being manipulated by the GOP? I cannot stomach more than a minute of Fox News tripe.

Fox has repeated their "fair and balanced" mantra so much that their viewers/listeners actually believe it (talk about how the lie becomes the truth!). Palin will just continue to dispense a stream of cliche's. As the said of President Bush when he was running back in 2000, the same can be said of Palin: "Where's the gravitas?

As usual, Palin's utterances are a gold mine of words that carry her own special meanings:

"... the fair and balanced reporting and analysis that the voters in this country deserve."

        Fair - as in "fair-skinned"
Balanced - as in "balanced heavily towards neuroticism, bigotry and self-interest"
        Reporting - Propaganda
Analysis - outright lies in support of "reporting"
The voters in this country - her "real Americans"
        Deserve - will swallow

Does she really believe that she is remotely capable of "providing the fair and the balanced reporting and analysis that voters in this country deserve?" An oxymoron (emphasis on the last two syllables) if there ever was one. But she can see Russia from her house...

excuse me, but to give fair and balanced reporting is it not required that you actually know something? and when is she going to report? she isn't a reporter she is a paid spokesmouth.

nice to see ms. palin stuck with her track record and lied right off the bat.
