Yep, I saw that! And this was my thought, she's doing it again, I wonder what she will give as her reason this time. She wouldn't recognize the Founding Fathers if she sat on George's dentures and they bit her on the bum!

Oh, you noticed that, too. My daughter came down to check out what I was watching, she informed me that her college friends are all horrified that she has another steady job, and that her hair looked terrible. "Way too many highlights, lady."

I have a few more descriptive terms.

. the lights are on, but no one's home
. not the sharpest tool in the shed
. dumb as a brick and twice as thick

              I'm sure there are more...

I know it's already been taken, but the most descriptive title I can come up with for a conversation between Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin is "Dumb and Dumber".

Meow, Meow, Meow :? Are there cats posting here? I thought I heard a few. Her hair is the least of her deficiences, although
she will probably go more blonde if she stays at Fox.

I envision the cameraman pulling a dollar bill out of his pocket and pointing to the picture in the middle of it and Caribu Barbie having that invisible light bulb going off over her head just before she finally answered Washington's name...

What did Clarence ever do to deserve such an insult? He made it through Law School, he worked hard for the jobs he was given and he didn't quit when the going got tough. And he works really hard at sucking up to the smartest guy on the Court. At least give him that much do. I think she's the biggest empty head since the real Barbie was introduced.

Oh yes, I quite agree. Anita was telling the truth and got trashed for it. But, she wasn't accusing Thomas of being an intellectual lightweight. She was accusing him of being a gross sexual harrasser. There is a difference. I watched a lot of those hearings and didn't want Thomas on the Court, but he is still a great deal smarter than Sister Sarah.

Someone who was willing to give another person every benefit of every doubt could have construed that it might be possible, somehow, even f-cking remotely far fetched, but possible, that Katy Couric asked her a "gotcha" question about what she read.

Here, Beck served up an easy pitch that anyone could have hit out of the park. Pick one, anyone. There is no wrong answer. (We'll there wasn't a wrong answer before today). Just stumble and then say all of them.

And then to go on and on about Washington. And how we need someone like him. Someone who doesn't want the job. And Beck knew he had set her up and she failed miserably and he gave her a hand back into the boat at the end by saying that Washington was his favorite too.

What a pair. A match made in hell that's for sure.

No, Glen Beck said that the other day. MMFA carried the audio. That's when I decided to write all of his sponsors and stop buying their products. Then I checked. I don't buy gold. I don't sell gold. I don't watch Fox. I don't need a slimy lawyer and I'm not going to Utah. I don't know how he stays on the air except that Fox uses him as what we used to say in the grocery business, a "lost-leader". Something you sell below price in order to draw in the customer and then you push the expensive stuff.

In other words, Fox uses Glen to bring in people hoping they will stick around for Ailes' propaganda machine.

Ah, but Beck wrongly believes that Paine would be appreciative of Beck's stupidity. He's wrong.

BTW, I don't believe I saw anyone mention that Paine was a "Founding Father"; however, you are incorrect. Thomas Paine WAS a Founding Father. You are confusing "Framers" and "signers" [two subsets] with the group as a whole. Thomas Paine is considered by most historians to be in the larger group known as the "Founding Fathers." Sounds to me as if you are learning your history from that great, self-educated historian, Glenn Beck. I'd find a better teacher.

I just find it ironic that Glenda likes to quote him so much. Paine also wrote a little thing called Common Sense, which was quite influential in its day. He is referred to by some as the "Lost Founder".

Apparently his views on Christianity and the Bible made him less popular in later decades.

Washington did not sign the Declaration of Independence, but he did sign the constitution. You could argue that Washington was not a founding father, because the Declaration came first.

OH NO! Beck asked her a question that required thought! Panic! Panic! Panic! What were you thinking Glenny??? She didn't have a cue card answer ready for this!
You could tell she had no clue who the Founding Fathers were! That's hilarious. So she tries to duck out by saying "All of them" but Glenny doesn't realize she's clueless so he demands that she name one. You can almost hear the gears turning in her head. "The Founding Fathers? Who the heck were the Founding Fathers? Think Sarah think!" So she comes up with the easiest one of all--George Washington. Whew that was close!
Gee I sure hope she is our next President. We need someone with her intellectual depth. >ROFLMAO<

Not petty at all. Her answer was halting and glazed... i'm guessing she took the exact same pause as when Couric asked her own question.

I'll agree that she actually gave a name, and actually substantiated it a little, but it was light, slight and trite.

Waiting for MMFA's cue...? Ha...! I've got more to say about this bizarre meeting of two bizarros than MMFA's brief pieces.

Just for starters, since Beck has his own television show does he know that the purpose of an interview is to allow the audience an opportunity to get to know the person being interviewed. This is done by asking interesting questions, not by talking about oneself and one's beliefs and then asking the person what they think. Put a stop watch to the interview and I'll bet Beck talked more than Palin.

And, just a general observation...Beck is clearly insane.

This morning I heard one of the "hip" conservative talk radio hosts (Dennis Miller, the guy with the dyed facial hair) talk about how Sarah Palin isn't stupid at all.

That should be on her campaign posters: "Sarah Palin: She's not as dumb as she seems".

It proves Fox's right-wing bias. When Palin was dumb enough to give the original answer, the media didn't let her hem and haw until she came up with a semi-coherent answer, BECAUSE SHE SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAD ONE. So no, NoCountryforOldCon, I'm not going to give her credit for taking a moment and then remembering that George Washington existed.

No, her answer wasn't THAT bad. I look forward to on FNC. I'm confident she will be THAT bad in the future.

These guys love saying they love the Founding Fathers (Limbaugh does it a lot too). What they don't bring up is that the nation wasn't founded in a gossamer world of billowy clouds but by real people who fought with each other, were petty, had political differences that caused deep personal rifts and so on. It's history and part of the beauty of our history. Compromise and ideas forged in a crucible is what got our country going.

So the "who's your favorite founding father" question could lead to trouble. If you liked Adams more than Jefferson, that could say volumes about your political ideology.

But, as Ronald Reagan so wisely misspoke once, "Facts are stupid things."

It is a bit unecessary to make an issue out of a person taking a few moments to think about an answer. Actually it's always a wise thing to think about what you are going to say before saying something you live to regret. You, know, kind of like Harry Reid uttering his infamous light-skinned Negro comments about candidate Obama! Those comments have had a negative impact on Reid and his sons campaigns.

And did you catch the entire interview - the parts where Palin and Beck both said they could not care less about the names people call them? And you grown ups here are acting like a bunch of kids at the school playground. Calling the other kids names. Ok, I know one of yall are going to call me a redneck trailer trash and I will tell you ahead of time. Sticks and stones may break my bones but calling me a redneck trailer trash will never hurt me. Right, and that's why it isn't the issue. The issue is that she said "all of them" once again, just as she did with Couric's newspaper question. She repeatedly demonstrates that she's not bright enough to hold a higher office; this is yet another example.
