Perhaps the White House should have commemorated 9/11 with a statue of George W. Bush...?

As a devotee of Adam Smith, maybe Rush should read The Wealth of Nations.

Capitalism is not what Rush thinks it is.

Actually let us lay off of George W. Bush. He has given dear old Rush a slap on the wrists and he and Clinton are best of buddies. Rush has no clear vision of just how cooperative G. W. is with the Clinton agenda and vise a versa. Imagine on National TV Bush said he often spoke to Clinton when he was still President to talk things over. I was so encouraged as a Republican to hear that. Country and Haiti needs before party stuff and G. W. showed that he was committed to that ideal himself. But leave it to Rush to check GW right off his friends list because Bush and Clinton are in the Haiti recovery together. Even Bush rebuffed the nay sayers and it must just gripe Republicans like Rush when Bush specifically countered Rush's silliness. So my advice Rush, is for you to just chill out for awhile. It would be good for your soul and your blood pressure. Probably need to lose a bunch of weight too before you stroke out.

Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, that bastard Bush is a war criminal. He should should be in a jail, or worse. The only reason he's not is because the US has a double standard when it comes to war criminals.

Up until 1986 the US accepted the jurisdiction of the UN-run International Court of Justice, at which point they declared that they would only accept the jurisdiction of that court "On a case-by-case basis. The US has adopted a similar position regarding the International Criminal Court. In other words, the US is afraid that one of their leaders might end up humiliated in front of the whole world, so they'd rather let him get away with whatever war crimes he orders. Oh, but they're happy to condemn the criminal actions of other world leaders. Such arrogance!

What this means is it's up to you Americans to put Bush on trail for the crimes he commuted while he sat in the White House, and you fail nail his hide to the wall, it sets a horrible precedent. US presidents are not supposed to be above the law, so why are you guys letting Bush walk around free? Arrest the bastard!

I guess he forgot the 2004 Republican national Convention, where it was 9/11 24/7. Honestly, this guy, like all neocons, is a shameless opportunist who has nothing of value to offer politically. He has no substansive arguments, and more than likely is relying on Newspeak alone.

Too bad for him, we see through this idiocy...

That's because they don't want to think for themselves. Let's remember, this is a guy who has stated "Listen to me. I will tell you what you need to know. Don't bother researching on your own, listen to me." (Of course, I'm paraphrasing, if anyone has the most recent links to this, can you post them up?)

This is, of course, scary-similar to another famous set of words. "All this and more, I shall give to thee, if you will but bow down, and worship me." Who said that? Oh yeah...

...THE DEVIL! Straight out of the religeoius text they profess to read, limbaugh cribs the Ultimate Bad Guy! This is sad, but since someone's trying to re-write the Bible to be more Conservative, I guess it's not unexpected.

What? I'm pretty sure that there are lots of conservatives out there who believe in service to their country. Not just on 9-11, but every single day. Lots of guys in the armed services for example that I know, that are very conservative, they serve.

And what's wrong with calling for a day of service? You don't have to do it Rush, but it's not a bad way to recognize the folks who did die on that day, and do something BENEFICIAL for your country.

Man, that's so bad, isn't it Rush?

I agree, Mag. As much as I make fun of conservatives, I do not agree with Rush one bit that patriotism is a strictly left-wing belief. I've met many conservatives who don't hate their country, and I think it's unfair of Boss Hogg to project his Anti-American attitude on anybody who shares his political beliefs..

And what were Rumsfeld's words on the very afternoon of 9-11?
With the intelligence all pointing toward bin Laden, Rumsfeld ordered the military to begin working on strike plans. And at 2:40 p.m., the notes quote Rumsfeld as saying he wanted "best info fast. Judge whether good enough hit S.H." – meaning Saddam Hussein – "at same time. Not only UBL" – the initials used to identify Osama bin Laden.
CBS News
In other words, Rumsfeld was "politicizing 9-11" right from the git-go.

Gotta say, as a former serviceperson (PN3(Ret), USN) the one phrase Rush used that really just infuriated the %#^ out of me was that he called someone an "admin puke." I'm like "Excuse me!?!?!" Some guy who's not even qualified to called a REMF dares to use the term "puke" to refer to any serviceperson?!?!?!

I know it's off topic but related to GOP military service. I was watching C-SPAN the other day when the GOPers were spouting off about national security and how the Prez isn't keeping us safe and the topic turned to Iran. I was livid when Gohmert of TX blamed our current situation on Prez Carter's inaction when Iran took hostages. He told of how he was in the Army at the time and that is where I lost it. He did not even mention his fellow Army brothers' ultimate sacrifice attempting to rescue the hostages. This was the most disgusting display I have seen in a while. Are all of these guys A-holes? Geeze

So what does that mean he thinks of all the conservative Christians who work on service projects.

Are they infected with some "left-wing" mental condition that they need to be cured of?

Are they confused about the call of Jesus to help "the least of the these"?

I think Rush needs to explain what he means by this.

I am guessing Rush Limbaugh rushe from service in 1969 (or so) because the Viet Nam war was a left wing agenda ???? Woner what his selective service classification was an his draft number ? FOXNews makes it like military service is a must for patriotism.

Got that right -- and their troglodyte listeners like FAILliberal do, too -- she kept asking in this thread why Obama "avoided" the service.

Funny how they only do that when a Dem is in office, though -- and NEVER ask why someone who was AWOL from the TANG never went to Vietnam . . .

I'm pretty sure when Obama was old enough to serve, there was no draft, and hence, no requirement to serve in the military. One could say, he did some good service in his community organizing days for his local community.

President Obama would have to be over 55 years old to have been eligible for the draft. I am 56 and had the draft end between my first physical and the cancelled second physical.

And, as I stated in the above thread referenced, since Obama is President of the US, and therefore Commander-in-Chief of its armed forces, he is, in effect, a de facto member of the service -- thus, FAILliberal's question of "why he chose not to serve" is moot . . .
